As a cancer survivor, Brian, this had me tearing up. Your selflessness is absolutely incredible. You use your influence and reach for good, and to help others. Words can’t describe, man. You’re just such a good dude. If you’re ever in the Madison, Wisconsin area, passing through, I want to meet you and hug you. Thank you for what you do.

First of all thanks for sharing your story. Thanks for for the love expressed here as well. This was one of the first times I’ve ever done anything light this. It felt really GOOD. I think it’s a man thing but anytime I do something that has purpose behind it I get fulfillment out of it. Sometimes that’s showing someone how to fish. Other times it’s just speaking to a random stranger about the weather. I never realized how much I get from giving until I got older.

Brian! Man I followed you for the fishing, the entertainment and the tips! After your intro in this video, man it hit me! I am a stage 4 cancer fighter and fairly new bass fisherman. I bought myself a fishing kayak and hit the CA Delta as often as I can! I started following you because I thought you were a cool dude and I enjoy watching you fish and now I know you’re also a great human being! Thank you Brian!

At 27 after being married for 4 years I was diagnosed w/ testicular cancer. As our churches summer camp started that summer my hair started to fall out due to the chemo, so I had some
other youth ministers and friends shave my head bc cancer had taken my summer but I wasn’t going to let it take my hair. Being bald wasn’t a big deal but I saw many others who were next to me getting chemo often in tears over losing their hair. For some it may seem silly but it really effected some cancer patients. I’m 49 and now have beat 2 cancers and told I’d be dead so many times😂😂. The trauma that comes with cancer can be overwhelming and if having a full head of hair eases some of that it’s worth every haircut!! Appreciate ya B!!

The universe is pretty funny man. That one person, song, etc will pop a thought into your mind somewhere, and eventually it will reverberate until it clicks. It's wild. I'm glad you made this video, I'm glad you said what you did. You really absolutely did something beautiful in this video. My wife beat cancer and during her process she lost her hair, and we had bought a few different wigs, and it helped her worry about one less thing during our day to days. Now before she lost her hair, we sat down and discussed the decision to take her hair by her own hand, and keep her power, vs losing it bit by bit and feeling helpless. We did a photo shoot and everything, what a beautiful strong, powerful woman looks like when she goes to battle. Not everyone has that and it's absolutely tougher on other folks. Once my wifes hair started growing back after her chemo, I started growing mine, going to keep growing it. At that donation length, cut it just for that, and keep growing it out. Awesome video man !!!

As a husband I’m always interested in what your family thought of your decision. It’s always nice to hear the lessons our kids and spouses learn or their feedback. #ProudOfYouBruh 💪🏾

My mom is a cancer survivor. One of the mental struggles she was dealing with was her own vanity. She didn't consider herself a vain individual, at all. She didn't wear makeup unless it was a special occasion, even lipstick. But when she lost her hair...she couldn't make herself not be subconscious about it, no matter how hard she tried to not care, and that tore her up.
To some, it's just a simple gesture they make because they wanted to make a change in their lives and chopped off all their hair. Figured they had it and were just going to throw it away anyways, so may as well donate it, not realizing that the free wig somebody gets from it might just give somebody the spark they need to keep fighting. The confidence to get out of their bedroom and remember why they might want to stick around for a bit longer.
While writing this novel of a comment, you repeatedly thanked people for leaving comments. No, sir. Thank YOU. Because someone donated their hair, my mom was able to have confidence. The difference in her attitude was night and day. Granted she was a redhead, so I, unfortunately, never got to see her with dreads, somebody's mother, father, child, or even somebody who doesn't have anybody else, will appreciate that more than most will ever know. Being able to have a slice of normalcy when nothing in your life is normal is priceless.

Videos like this one started is a perfect example of why I watch you bro. Cancer runs in my family. I'm doing what I can to avoid it. Generous people like you, donating something as simple as dred locks to help out cancer victims and others. It says a lot about you as a person. The videos with your kids bridge fishing. I believe you had shaved recently too. Respect and appreciation. 🙏😎🎣

Donated 11.5 inches recently. Didn't start with that as the goal, either. I was just going through a hard time and stopped taking care of myself. My dad was battling cancer, so eventually I knew I wanted something good to come out of letting it go that long. Been a year now since he's been gone, and recently decided I'd get back into fishing like we used to as a way to heal when I found you and your channel. But hey, good things can come out of bad situations. Can't say I think like that every day, but today is ok.

Gotta comment on this. I have been growing my hair out for 2 years now with intentions of donating it. My wife's cousin has a little girl who has alopecia. I won't say I've been struggling with commitment, but I'm getting sick of it. It's so long and thick and it's difficult to manage because it has so much body and wave naturally. Anyway, thanks for reminding me that's it's not about what it looks like to me or how it feels to me. I came across your content as I've recently returned to bass fishing. Found out you were an SC native so I was like, hey this guy know my region; what's he fishing. Keep doin what you're doing.

Bro!!!! Listen, I SEMI HATED IT!!! It was always touching me. I used to sit at the salon for 3 hours to get it twisted every 6-8 weeks and so much more. It was not convenient. Everything doesn’t have to be easy and convenient for me. A masculine life has purpose at every corner. This experience had so many layers to it that most of my viewers probably wouldn’t be willing to listen to. I wouldn’t encourage anyone especially boys and men to try it.

Man I grew my hair out for probably about 4 years and decided to get a hair cut and the barber told me about an organization that uses people's hair to make wigs for cancer patients... I never knew that was even a thing until then but I thought it was a pretty cool cause so it wasn't a hard decision. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

I wish I had known a long time ago. I’ll do it again as long as I have hair. That’s questionable as I age🤣
