Thank you. I planned to do the spark plugs as well but did not have the right socket. I will do that at a later date.

Just joined your channel. Thanks for sharing. This video will come in handy when we go fulltime. We will be doing some boondocking so a generator is going to be necessary.

One way to help fill the oil faster is to fill the oil filter before you install it. This will cause it to be fully saturated and leave less air to evacuate. I do this on any oil filter I can.

Do you happen to remember the fuel filter or oil filter part numbers? I just bought this same rig and haven’t gotten a chance to look under but wanna order some for when it’s time.

I'm not sure what the manufacturer oil specs are for that unit because I seized up my unit one time on a 90° day using 10W/30 by accident. Once it cooled down I changed the oil and it was fine. My specs called for 15W40. Most all air cooled engines require 15W/40 or higher. Even in the extreme cold weather the 15W/40 works well.

Quick question: how do you reset the hour counter inside your RV Generator instrument panel?. After changing the oil, oil filter, and fuel filter and you want to reset the counter. Thank you very much, please let us know.

I’m having the same issue now with my onan which is about a year old. Did you find out what’s causing your surging and shutoff?

I have the same generator, surges after it gets warm, I've replaced the carburator , the fuel filter and the fuel pump, still surges. Also adjusted my oil level. Any suggestions?

Same here, notice the buterfly valve is wide open on carb. U can see with air filter off. You can close it manually through linkage. Possibly governor arm? Not sure what the black component with two wires is but that is what seems to not be adjusting anything possibly failed. Not sure if its supposed to even close it but the linkage goes to it and spring tension is keeping valve open fully causing surge when warmed up on mine.

One quick check that comes to mind is the altitude setting. Have you adjusted the altitude setting to match your current altitude? The generator may be running too lean or rich and if you adjust the setting to match your altitude that could clear up your problems. If that doesn't help, let me know and I can help you troubleshoot it more in depth.
