hey man! I just got one of these, in much worse shape than yours but I will make it GReat agian!! Im glad you made this video, as you said there is minimal info on these models online, I appreciate this video.. thanks again!.
Thank you for the comment. They are an absolute tank. Parts are hard to come by but if you're patient they come up on ebay a lot. If you need more info drop by and I'll do my best to help. The manual and parts list are available online if you haven't got them already, A Must have.
awesome video here mate you dont give yourself enough credit your clearly spoken polite and explanations are great , i remember these back in 84 when riding our bmx bikes around and a guy had one in a school yard on the weekend and used the spinning wheel of the bmx whilst upside down to use it to start the motor as it was a nightmare to start especially once has a little warm but i clearly remember ask9ing what it was and he said Mugen- Silver Fox - minus the gold , love the old days when things where better cheers and great video bud:-)
Great job tweaking and upgrading the Fox. Im so glad the Silver Fox got 'down under' to you in one piece. I had it on my shelf for about 4 years full of gunk and dust but I knew underneath there was a beauty of a buggy. I had to soak all the parts in Gumout and detergent (the bath of shame) but in actuality all the hardened grease preserved the metal and protected it from rust. Thanks for the kudos Steve you still remain my best eBay customer of all time! I started a new website still under construction at www.autoclones.com. Please check it out. Can't wait to see the Fox in action!
Thank you Tony, you did the hard work though... The tweaking is the fun part. Just gotta get my better half to film it in action!!! love it! As for being the best customer... It's only because you're an ace guy to deal with mate!! Cheers Steve
The Ebay store linked too seems dead. Any new sources for old RC cars. I have one of these, brand new never used, almost complete, missing front wing and gas tank.
for parts or for the chains? as for the parts...It's sadly a very patient search mate...He's moved on from RC cars...Again, it's a waiting game. I waited years for the right car to come up.. I spent what I needed to get it! there are parts available if you have the $$. For chains I can order more but need at least 6 people to make it worth while to order... and with Covid-19 shipping is really hard especially out of Aus to Europe and the USA. I'm currently harassing Thunder Tiger to re-Release the Silver Fox Gold Edition... or Platinum, or Diamond.. whatever works... it's tough atm.
Due you still own?? I've had a few but never could find parts to make a complete runner. I bought aparts buggy & even both couldn't require the parts .so my friend found one with the parts I need & he refused to sell . Made him pay $$threw the roof lol
Thanks for stopping by. Yes I still own it. two came up on ebay recently in Europe I think. They looked complete too. Though shipping would have been expensive. Keep at it mate, they do come up every now and again. I thought about a parts car but really being a vintage car it's more of a shelf queen now but it still gets out when I feel the need. I'd love to find a new set of wheels and tires!
@@steveblackbird If I ever come across one it will be sitting on the shelf lol . I have a friend that had a set of wheels 3D printed, IDK about the tires . I'm sure you could find a pair of tires that nearly match . Thanks my friend, Very cool buggy 🙆💯👍
I had some chain custom made from a supplier a while ago. I have a spare as I sold my chains (about 6 off with main links) about a year ago, maybe less... keep an eye out on Ebay. BTW I'm in AUS so enable worldwide searches.. Cheers for watching!!
Generally ebay is usually the way to find parts/donor cars. Pretty had finding parts for them but patience and some searching sometimes pays off. Like all vintage stuff its how much people want to pay.

Gold dampers... gold plated wheels really.. thats all...that I can tell. ..also the lack of a main pinion to spur gear polycarbonate cover.
