    Detailed assembly and disassembly video of a Heckler and Koch (H&K) MR223 A3, which is the civilian marked 416 A5. Will be similar to the 416 and MR223 A1, as well as the USA MR556 gun. This one is in RAL8000. They are also available in black. This model features an 11” hard chrome barrel, full ambi controls, and the new Hk FUIS (flip up iron sights).
    This is an AR15 and in Canada is a restricted firearm only legal to own with a RPAL. I am properly licensed for this firearm.

    My PWS is so much simpler and has never failed AND is also accurate. The piston system on it is simple and effective, only thing missing is that cool lower which works as a bolt release and bolt catch on the right side so it is a true lefty friendly lower. I'll stick to my PWS which is cheaper and less cumbersome to take apart.

    I don't understand one feature on HK416 assault rifle - keeping a forward assist assembly? On all American features of weapons when was applied "dirty" system of direct impingement of hot gases in head of the bolt and inside the whole inside and trigger assembly, which made whole family of weapons with direct impingement system (AR-15, M-16, M-4 and many derivatives) to be described as an unreliable and prone to failure/stoppage of shooting. But, there is an improvement: H&K applied the oldest trick from the book on "How to make great automatic weapons" - short stroke move of the gas piston, which transfer gas impulse to piston conecting rod right on the head of bolt. No more messy and soot in rifle's interior, all components work well, according manufacturer. But, if it's true, why retaining "forward assist" assembly? Any explanation?

      Mack haha I hear you man, I just figure why not. Life is short, enjoy what you enjoy. Plus the Liberals are campaigning on a platform of buying them back anyways. So screw them. Support your gun stores now and enjoy them for a few more years. That’s the worst case scenario. More likely that they’ll get cold feet at the absurd costing (now that NZ has set the principal of paying out 95% on as-new condition guns) and be forced to issue grandfather licenses. In that case I’d rather be a have than a have not. And I doubt they will get even that for.

    It’s seems odd to me for you to suggest that you could get another AR bolt and drop it into this gun, when the usual AR bolt has a gas impingement system. This is obviously a piston system gun.
    But you keep calling it a gas system, which is misleading. You do not really showcase the piston or explain why HK, and I think the US Marines went with it.

    • @armandgun
      @armandgun  4 роки тому +1

      timothy busing I suggested that you likely couldn’t swap bolts. As an AR most assume it’s all milspec and user configurable. It’s a gas operated piston system and I stated that. I did an in depth review of the identical piston system in my g36 video. I didn’t think to add why the Marines switched to it, I was simply discussing what I did know of the rifle.

    To clarify, and maybe THIS is/was stated (I’m prepping the question already); Is the ‘223’ version ACTUALLY a .223 REM ONLY rifle? As in NO 5.56 ammo TO BE used...due to HIGHER pressure rounds?

    • @lieutenantcoloneltanyavond8273
      @lieutenantcoloneltanyavond8273 2 роки тому +1

      You can use both 5.56 and .223. CiP spec doesn't even differentiate between the two and just lists the higher pressure in data sheet as standard. Same with 9x19 btw, any ammo marked 9mm NATO here is imported from US because CiP specification doesn't distinguish it, it's just your standard 9x19 here.
      That's it for the pressure, if there are differences it would be in the chamber, but afaik HK uses a hybrid chamber allowing you to shoot well with both.
      Ultimately, have you seen this barrel? I've heard from one competition shooter it can survive shooting out a squib, let alone a slightly higher pressure round.

      The main advantage to a piston system over the Armalite gas system is that you need less cleaning and won't have jams due to carbon deposits in the bolt area, you can of course avoid that by just cleaning your AR-15,but it's still as it is.
      Plus the piston inside of an AR-15 bolt can get obstructed without maintenance, which just doesn't happen with a traditional long stroke or short stroke gas piston, plus as a side note, short stroke gas pistons tend to limit accuracy problems since they have minimum mass concentrated at the barrel, technically it should be more beneficial over the standard AR-15 configuration.
      But all this comes from someone with just technical knowledge of guns, no practical one whatsoever aside from other shooters'.

    HK416's are very nice rifles obviously, but... External piston "AR-15s" just irritate me. No real benefit whatsoever. I only clean my BCM once every 1k rounds, never had a malfunction. Not one.
    I'd much rather just pull out the bolt carrier group clean and lube with 3 drops of LSA and be done (cleaning the barrel obviously too).
    It just seems silly to me to move all that carbon forward underneath the handguard, have that extra reciprocating mass... Its just silly.
    Piston ARs exist purely based on many peoples superstition, it makes them feel better despite the direct gas inline piston system of a normal AR introducing 0% more carbon to the chamber.
