I had a Hobie when I lived in Waimea, Kauai.went out early one morning, not paying attention I got swamped by a big wave. Lost a trolling motor, battery, fishing poles. But lived to tell the tell
Relentless Bass Fishing That is cool I wasn’t sure cause I was watching video and someone was saying that new Blue sky kayak wouldn’t be allowed cause of its length. I wish I could afford that PA17T and had a way to transport it. Be fun to take that sucker out on the lake with friends and family. Not have to register it, buy gas, or maintain an engine.
I loved your review. I’ve always wanted to see a review on this boat. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but I think I’m going to get two 14’s . I think the only drawback might be loading and unloading. Are you sure Roy Clark isn’t your dad ? He too is a good looking guy. Thanks again !
Scott Downs honestly it hasn’t been that bad loading and unloading. I’ve had it since January this year and have been tournament fishing out of it and I love it.
Honestly if your going to use that solo, might as well drop a trolling motor on the front somehow, have plenty of room to stand and control the boat with a foot control.
Also have any photos of that trailer showing off those rollers in the back. Pretty sick set up, would like to see if I can add something like that to mine
Check out the link to Mariner sails. They have the trailer and everything there. Hobie also makes a bow mount for a trolling motor. They’ll get you setup at Mariner
If you drive it very far, you'll need more straps! At bare minimum a strap at each end, and strap the nose to the round roller! Or you could possibly have a problem if you hit some bumps, good video!
Costs the same as (or more than) a boat too! It’s pretty sexy, I won’t lie, and of course Hobie is the best. But for the size/weight, trailering requirement & need to be cautious where & how you stand and move...I think I would stick with a Jon boat. Or what about a Roundabout for 1/3 the price of a PA? There’s a time & place for kayaks, just as for boats of all types. To me personally the PA 17 sort of combines the negatives of both kayaks and boats.

I just bought a PA14 and I need a trailer. It is too heavy for me at 69 years old to deal with alone. Thanks for the video. Best Regards.
Where can I buy one with this setup?
Glad to have found this video.
JFAM TM17 The Movement awesome
Awesome review!...
Walter Cabral thank you
Awesome review! That's a heck of a Yak! 🤑🤑
Ozk Fishing you ain’t lie’n 🤑🤑 lol
Adding h bars (leaning bars) to front and back make this fatyak a barge for two 200lbs guys. We stand, cast, and land fish with no problems.
That would be sweet to take the family out on
Kdawg 18 it really is. It’s so fun with the family
Before I even watch this I’ll say when I tested that PA17T at the last demo I loved it! Thing was cool!
Brandon Kyle Mckibben heck yeah it is lol
Got a little aggressive...almost took a swim there bud LOL
Fishing w/ D Lo yeah lol. It’s more cause I would step on the side of the square hatch or an eyelet but definitely getting overconfident lol.
Cool as hell. Ray Michigan
Lol I was just thinking do you think Duc would allow a PA17 in a tournament? I think KBF has a 16ft length limit but I may be mistaken.
Brandon Kyle Mckibben pa17 is allowable in all tournaments. Kbf and NTXKC

Very nice, Hobie makes good quality products. Very very pricey.
That's dope man! Makes me want to buy one for my self . Pa on steroids. Great video
Absolutely! Give Mariner Sails a call and check it out. Its awesome.
I see this with a motor in the rear mirage drive well. :-). Basically like you say, a boat; and an ice chest/live well in the back.
Curtis Baughman so many possibilities 😁
Hell yeah exactly what I'm thinking.
It looks so stable, can leave it as a kayak with no motor so no need to register it. Or add a motor, can easily go either way.
How much does it cost like 7k
John Guerrero pretty close lol

@@lancevoorhees1611 nope no issues at all! drove mine 80miles down the highway after picking it up. rode sweet! just the 2 strapes. 1 front 1 back
Remember: in a Kayak, whatever isn’t lashed, is lost!

Everyone has their own reasons and purposes for getting on the water and there isn’t one thing that fits them all.
Relentless Bass Fishing yep, that’s what I was trying to say but you said it better!
Also is that a custom trailer for the PA17T?
No, its the Trailex trailer at Mariner Sails. It makes the PA17 so easy to move.
Get out of my spot man! LOL
The Paramedic Yakker lol it’s everyone’s spot. We need to go fishing bro.
