In the future I plan to come to London and thanks to your comments on the heat, I will be prepared. I know exactly what you mean by the humidity making the temperature hotter than blazes. I lived on the East Coast of the US and in the summer it sometimes was unbearable. Even taking a cool shower didn't help for very long. Well, hygiene wise it did 😂
the UK is not a hot country. The summers are hit and miss. The high temperatures in the last couple of years, only last a short time, and then it's back to normal temperatures. Yes when it's warm, London can be a bit unbearable because there are lots of stone buildings, reflecting the heat back on to the pavements, which are in turn, reflecting the heat upwards. Outside of cities the temperatures are much cooler and also on the coast. You should take wet weather gear with you and don't expect it to be like it is in the warmer parts of the USA.
An Officer wears the aiguillettes on the right shoulder , NCO on the left shoulder - aiguillettes - The metal tipped gold braid . The Corporal of Horse also had the spur badge on his right arm indicating a Riding Instructor .

The lady tourist did gab the boot of the guard. That’s when the guard gave a kick to the lady to let go. It still amazes me that people think it’s ok to touch these guards doing their job. But, in today’s society the people think they can do what they want with no consequences? Cheers mate.
Frankly I think that some people believe that the soldiers are like figures from Disneyland. Probably mostly Americans. They think that they are there just to give some atmosphere to the historic buildings and entertain tourists. That is the only reason I can think of for their rude behaviour and why they think it's OK to touch the Guard's boot, or the reins of the horse - I find that to be the most bizarre behaviour quite honestly and it's not something that most normal people would do. I believe if they realised these were serving soldiers they would have a different attitude. If the guards were wearing battle dress uniform, that would be a whole different ball game.
Rude kid; rude parents not teaching the kid manners and courtesy.
Totally agree with you about the sunglasses….lack of protection has been proven to damage the eyes.

Hello John Tannys Tomasz here from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada hope you're vacation is going well. It's nothing but thunderstorms here today at + 19 Celsius. That Chinese kid was just so rude they need to teach the Chinese some manners when going to horse guards. I can't believe idiots would try and go through the horsebox with a horse in it. The Spanish are just as bad loved the officer waving bye bye to those morons. As usual love your sense of humor, the troopers, and the horses.
Yes John how right you are. I witnessed a horse that just refused to get on the horse truck/van not even with a bucket of oats to lure him up. Where the old saying goes that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink!

Every time I see the people dismount from their horse wow it makes my knees hurt. I wonder any of the older ones the riders if they have knee problems some of those horses are very high.
I thought about this also, especially since I have a bad knee! And about a short trooper on a big horse like Q10.🤔💜

Sure there are biters on both regiments. The horses are defending themselves from the tourists and their constant need to touch the horse. The horses are saying , "Don't touch me " in a way that seems appropriate. I wish that those who take a shortcut through the box with the horse in there would get kicked just once.. They would never look at the box as a short cut again. I know this seems mean but some of the tourists look at things at Horse Guards like this is Disneyland and the Guards are just actors getting paid to stand there in the arches, act as gate men and horse guards.

Where were the parents of that child? They should be right with him all the time, especially in a crowd, surely. They should be paying attention to what's going on and they should have moved him out the way. These tourists think they're at some sort of theme park and that the guards are there just for them!

Gosh this is old. They have renovated the cobbles in the stalls and painted a white box on the floor on the pavement infront of the stalls to stop the tourists getting near the horses.

Guards very smart ,the walls need cleaning ,have thay ever been cleaned .
Horse Guards is a Grade 1 Listed Building any cleaning of the Portland stone would require very specialised work .

Horse tend to be more patient with children is like they intelligent enough to know they are not a threat but sometimes you get a exception to the rule I think that's a older video no sign I love to put you on a horse I think you would enjoy the experience the horse is a draught horse
The horses of The Household Cavalry are Irish draft/thoroughbred cross bred in Ireland from selected breeders .

The ‘7 hours ago’ means when the video was uploaded/posted. It doesn’t mean when the video was recorded so there’s no deception. Under the video description, go to ‘more’. John always includes the date when the video was filmed.

You say that nobody can make a horse do something it doesn't want to do. Well, that's true to a point, but it all depends on the equipment the poor horse is wearing on it's head. Most of these horses are overloaded with equipment. One of them today doesn't seem to have as much as the others have. Their bits are really nasty and designed to cause pain without the soldier having to move the reins too much or be an expert rider. The way they are made is giving them extra leverage. So, using pain and force is the way they control these horses. In a way I guess they have to because it's dangerous to have a horse this size out of control with so many people around it; these people usually being stupid and won't get out of the way. However, I do not agree with using this kind of equipment on horses at all. I hate it when I see one of these soldiers jerking the reins if the horse turns or moves around, which I've seen in your videos many times. That jerking of the reins will actually hurt the horse's mouth.
May I suggest you contact the Household Cavalry , particularly the Riding Instructors and Riding Masters , and the Lorinery trained Master Saddlers with your comments and concerns .
I am sorry that you are oblivious to historic military equipment, none of which was superfluous in the day and all of which had purpose and use to an active cavalryman.
Bits and double bridles are not , by themselves, nasty. The nastiness comes from untrained and ignorant hands. And just as much nastiness comes from people using supposedly “force-free” and bitless training all of which relys on pressure points on the horse’s face.
Yet another bad title, the kid was not rude one bit as you said he was froze!

A simple explanation , - from 2nd September until 24th September there are no Mounted Guards at Horse Guards while planned works to the boxes and courtyard are carried out only a Dismounted Guard . John has gone on a well deserved holiday and has kindly uploaded some of his older videos for viewers to watch . Every other person who videos at Horse Guards is doing the same with the occasional person showing the Dismounted Guard and the work being done ! . So sorry you are annoyed by this , you can always watch something else ! Have a good day 😊
