That poor Trooper in the tunnel... All those toristas posing with him, and I didn't see a single one THANK HIM! Particularly like the little girl flashing gang signs. Mum and Dad must be SOOOO proud! Animals......
Anyone with functioning grey matter would know horses kick at anything unexpected behind them. These folks are lucky they didn't get their ribs shattered
I saw the part 1 of this video and I won't criticize again who didn't handle that people to the second white line because it's not my job, but damn that was a mess! Kid running, others on the back and a massive Zambezi in the middle. What did they expect, that the horse should jump straight into the box?! hahaha No way!... So the guard did it ! I've never heard him shouting, but I do agree with this kind of attitude at the right time and yes, he did it great. Well done! 🥰That's it, be always handsome but tough with those idiots!
John - Britain's involvement with the Zambezi River includes: Exploration - The Royal Geographical Society of Britain sent Dr. David Livingstone on the Second Zambezi expedition from 1858 to 1864 to explore the area for natural resources and mineral deposits. Livingstone's expeditions inspired missionary activity in the 1860s, which led to the establishment of the Central Africa Mission. Protectorates - The British established the British Central Africa Protectorate in 1889, which covered the same area as present-day Malawi. In 1907, the protectorate was renamed Nyasaland. Zambia - The former Portuguese protectorate of Northern Rhodesia became the Republic of Zambia on October 24, 1964, ending 73 years of British rule. The country's name comes from the Zambezi River, which forms Zambia's border with Southern Rhodesia. The Zambezi River is home to Victoria Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. The name Zambezi means "Great River" in the language of the Tonga people
I missed this one. Cannot believe people will stand in path of a charging horse. There was no one to hold their hand and lead them behind white line. Talking about adults 😮
Horseguards are closed until end of September 2024. Looking at these older videos are great to understand why the M O D have made the rules now to "DO NOT TOUCH THE HORSE." plus the great sign with the big RED WARNING CIRCLE for the numpties.
I would not want that guard guarding my house. Very unobservant. How two people could walk through the box without the trouper noticing is unbelievable!
And he is not the only sleepy guard. there are quite a few of them that should not be in uniform. So far since the don't touch signs went up, only three guards have obeyed the rule. and also only three cops. These people in charge should also be replaced if they can't the guards and cops to do their jobs.
Der Officer hat seine Aufgabe nicht richtig gemacht, er hätte mit Nachdruck darauf bestehen sollen, dass die Besucher hinter die zweite weisse Linie gehen müssen…
The British Army were involved with fighting the Zulu's way back, got massively defeated, so maybe that is where the name comes from. It was around that area.
No it wasn't. I was born close to the Zambesi River (a river that forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe) and the Anglo-Zulu war was fought at Rourkes' Drift in Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa - a distance of a couple of thousand kilometres apart at the closest points. It's more likely that the breeder of the horse was ex Zambian or Zimbabwean and named the colt before he became a Cavalry mount.
@@africanborn2443 Cool, thanks for that, not up on African states or borders so was pretty much guessing on my part as the British Army fought with the Zulu Army and Cavalry were big in the Army back those days. As for the breeding could be, but they are mostly Irish Draft/warm bloods, for HCav, but anything with horse breeds is possible I suppose.
@CynthiaStevens-pk1pb The horses are often named after battles or significant places, with each new intake of a year called names that begin with the same letter. On joining the Household Cavalry, a regimental number is stamped on a horse's hooves. Traditionally Irish-bred and purchased from Ireland, either Irish Draught or a cross of Irish Draught and thoroughbred breeding, most horses are purchased when they are three or four years old and are selected by the Riding Master, who is responsible for overseeing their training, preferably choosing horses that are unbroken. research it -
@@africanborn2443 The war began when British forces invaded Zululand, South Africa to settle a territorial dispute and extend British imperial influence - In 1887, Zululand was declared British territory and finally annexed to Natal ten years later: Battle of Isandlwana - On January 22, 1879, 20,000 Zulu warriors launched a surprise attack on the British camp at Isandlwana, killing nearly 800 British soldiers and taking about 1,000 guns. This was one of Britain's biggest defeats in history.
Battle of Rorke's Drift - The Battle of Rorke's Drift took place on January 22-23, 1879. A beleaguered British force outnumbered 40 to one survived and killed 20 men for every defender lost. Battle of Ulundi - The war ended with the Battle of Ulundi on July 4, 1879. The capture of Zulu leader King Chetshwayo in August 1879 effectively ended the war in favor of the British. The battlefields of the Anglo-Zulu War are popular tourist attractions in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
As for the muck up of the guardsman & horse running the crowd my question is WHERE WERE THE POLICE !!!. These tourists ARE so thick. Do they not see the danger they were all in.
The area is not closed , from 2nd September to 24th September there will be no mounted Guards only dismounted Guards on duty . So there is still admittance to the courtyard Parade ground and Museum , just no horses . The cobbles in the boxes are being levelled for the horses to stand on .
Maybe the connection is something to do with what Rhodesia( after Cecil John Rhodes) was called before because of the Zambezi river. A former Brittish Colony. I think it was called southern Zambezia. Now it is zimbabwe. I stand to be corrected.
I am also interested in the commands they shout. I tried to find something on the web, but no results. John is on vacation, he doesen't read the comments.Maybe we ask him, when he is back. 🙂
First command - Boxman, return swords. Second - Prepare to dismount. Third - Dismount. Last- Boxman, turn right and retreat. (Not sure about the last one, but it is something like that.)

These Tourists dont pay attention and need to be told get out the way they don't seem to know that it could get dangerous
Anyone with functioning grey matter would know horses kick at anything unexpected behind them. These folks are lucky they didn't get their ribs shattered
That guy & his kid couldn't have walked another 10' to the damn open gate???? boggles
I wish the Police Officers would ask the tourists to stand away from the Trooper.
A couple of years ago the whole area would have been cleared for an abandoned bag/box.
Thank you John.
Your VW story was a crack up...😂 Love your commentary on the videos. Hope you're having a good holiday. These older videos are great fun. Cheers.
The tourist accidentally touched trooper and then apologized immediately and after he left
These guys deserve better it’s a disgrace
12:35 Valerian and Wombat cutely booping snouts 😊
This MUST BE STOPPED. It's pure disregard to guards doing their job.
TOURISTS NEED EDUCATING. 😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬
Valerian and Wombat, car manufacturers!! I'd like a car made by these two darlings! Bound to be perfect! Excellent horse-power!!!😅😅😅
I think that crowds should be stopped from entering the yard

Anarchy in the yard!
We're where the police to move the public? What if somebody got hurt because they did not move back ? Who's fault would it of been?
The tourists who were too dumb to move would be at fault. The trooper was doing his job.
Where were the police? We're is a contraction of we are.😊
Good story your VW one🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣❤

Morning breakfast sounded great
That is why that fool went through the box
The Zambezi became a war zone during the 'Scramble for Africa', the struggle for independence and the civil wars that followed
Somebody did not do there job!!!
You should have reported that man😊
The army must now instil better crowd management.
Very good John, Volkswagen or folks wagon
Put a new sign saying to just touch the dam horse
This was filmed in July. Since then there are new signs.

That is too much
There was three police officers down the tunnel ??????????????

@5:40 Why would you let your daughter go out in public dressed like that? My word. No shame whatsoever. Stupidity reigns around the world.
