    India is such a beautiful place, One of the Seven Wonders of the World The Taj Mahal Although that India was oppressed by Britain for many centuries they never lost their culture, customs and traditions , neither their dignity. And is becoming now one of the big nations of the world again. VIVA LA INDIA

      I don't share your optimism. What I see looks too lost to improve. I've worked with brilliant Indian programmers, know they are hard working and dedicated, so this is not to denigrate Indians (or any other group); however such enormous spreads of people and deterioration can't be undone, short of s major global catastrophe. Not in several centuries. Not with populations continuing to grow.

      Have you seen the mega kitchens of India (on utube), and what they've done with solar capture to generate the steam to cook for up to 40,000 people EACH day? In one place they can cook for up to 60,000, so I read. That was in Amritstan. At the Golden Temple. You've probably been there.

      There is vloger from switzerland, he thinks western countries are boring, but Indians think looking at pictures of western countries, they are heaven.
      Living in India and going to western countries is complete isolation and lack of "life".

    Those of us who are India die hards, keep returning to India in spite of the noise,pollution,over crowding,theft, bad food (Delhi belly) bad rooms and various rips offs because after all is said and done we come back from India with priceless experiences which cannot be found anywhere else. India has made me what I am today and anyone who has not been there cannot top it.

      Then you are a true Indian at heart. I am of Indian ancestry but grew up in America. When I was in Varanasi I felt like I was in my true home. Yes, it's dirty and crowded, and there is a lot of poverty, but there is something about it you just can't put your finger on. Have you ever been to Punjab?

    • @tarasios_lit
      @tarasios_lit 7 років тому +1

      You are such a traveler, and quite fortunate. My family originally came from Punjab, but I have yet to go there. I only went to Rajasthan, Agra, and lived in Varanasi for a while. On my next trip I am hoping to go to the Golden Temple and a famous Hanuman temple in Pillaur, Punjab, Ayohdhia, then a long stay in Varanasi again. Though I grew up in the States, I feel like Varanasi is my true home. Well, each to his own, I guess. All the best to you!

    • @tarasios_lit
      @tarasios_lit 7 років тому

      I wouldn't want to be a woman in India. You talked in another comment about the lack of development in India. I think the treatment of women there is even worse than the economic problems. I am "lucky" that I am a man and can enjoy the good things India has to offer without being abused as a woman. But let me tell you a story. I am fair and am often confused as being a white person. When I was living in Varanasi, except for a few people such as the nice family I lived with, people assumed I was a rich tourist and they tried every way possible to scam me for my money. Many of them were quite abusive and even one tried to drag me forcibly into a hidden area near the smaller cremation ghat, probably to steal my money. I was having a very bad time quite often, and the only thing that calmed my spirits was watching a Punjabi station on the tv that showed Sikhs singing kirtan every night. No matter what bad times I had, however, I want to go back. The religious sites, the Ganges, the hustle and bustle of the city, the narrow lanes, the countless temple and shrines, all fascinated me. It's like heaven and hell at the same time. However, like I said, I do have the advantage of being a man and am immune to a lot of the abuses a woman has to go through.

    • @tarasios_lit
      @tarasios_lit 7 років тому

      Dear damn, son: No it's not wrong at all to point out the problems. The only way to improvement is to first acknowledge the need for a change. In fact, I think the more you love something or someone the more you will recognize their flaws and want to help them overcome them. Passionate feelings don't come from nowhere, and you obviously feel deeply about this. Poverty, lack of education, the culture of degrading women and lower castes (even though that is illegal it is still part of the Hindu mind) and religious conflict are still deeply ingrained in India. In Varanasi too there is a lot of poverty. People there kept saying to me that in America money rules everything, but no one thinks more about money than someone who doesn't have it, and everybody I knew was obsessed with money because they had to scrounge every day for some. They are lucky tour companies for some reason convince their clients to visit Varanasi for some god only known reason and they bring their tourist money there, because I have no idea what other industry or source of income the people of Varanasi have. Well, they have the other Indians who go there in pilgrimage, and there are a lot of those. Please don't flame me for saying this, but I thought Modi was going to make a difference, and even though he has been making trade deals with other countries, he and the BJP look to me to be facist and pushing the Hindu agenda, just another reinforcement of India's social and cultural backwarness. I recently saw a flyer for "Clean Ganga" which had Modi claiming how important Ganga Ma is for all Indians, how she is bound up with their history. Well, maybe it is for Hindus, but Hindus make up only 80 something percent of India. What about the other 20 percent--they're not Indians if they don't worship Ganga?

      @@773418668 That's exactly the same level of development China had like 15 years ago. If it continues to grow fast it'll develop really fast. Unfortunately, there is something called the "middle income trap", which I belive is the fate of India, like it was for Latin America. Only East Asia showed - and is showing - the capacity to transition fast towards high income.

      @@773418668 its because you just see one side of India, which is this. It is a vicious loop. Media shows poverty of India, travelers get fascinated by it and come to see that. They shoot that and just show that. Low and Behold poor dirty India becomes a steroetype
      Also the spiritual power of India is very dangerous for Christianity and Islam. Once people realize the spiritual power of India, Vatican and Mecca will have to close shops. So there is a vested interest in portraying India like this.
      But don't worry India was once the biggest economy of the world and it will become that again.And this Indians will focus on military also. Just give it some time. The country was very badly looted by the British for 150 years, it will take some time to recover.

      @pm Lets say one ideology starts to undermine secularism itself. What will you do? Just see what is happening in France. They have decided to control radical Islam to protect French Secularism. That means they are treating Islam differently. But wait isn't Secularism about treating all religions similarly
      Communism, Capitalism, Nazism, Secularism, Humanism, Feminism, Atheism etc these are all religions or modern society. And people fight over these as they have fought over others in the past.
      And please understand this very very clearly. God is not going anywhere, he is here to stay.

    I LOVE Varanasi. I lived there for a while and was completely heartbroken when I had to leave it. I will go back someday! I had to see a kind doctor every day for a foot problem, and he talked about how holy Varanasi is, he said even the dirt is holy. Good thing, because there is a lot of it! My favorite spot was the temple on Kedar Ghat, then Sankat Mochan temple. If you go, though, beware of the tauts and godmen! LOL!

    those who r commenting that india is polluted etc..etc.. they dont know how we r rich in culture. many pepole come from different parts of the world and they setteled in india, only because of peace and harmony. but an indian or any other part of the country people go to other country mainly bcz of money and other things... but we are so proud, we welcome all kind of people irrespective of colour,sex,caste.. we share our love... if u r feeling lonely and leading life with full of fake people .... come to india ... we are with u.... if u think that he is an indian, thats y he is prouding his country..... no way .... if u live in india for some days, u will feel the same .... before leaving india.. that made u to cry and the tears are not from u r eyes .. its from u r soul ... we r happy with what we have ...... ....... u will surely feel the same what i said.. cleaness is part of our life ...but happy soul is the part of our body.. choose what u want...

    Algumas sociedades são mais organizadas do que outras.
    Algumas civilizações são avançadas, enquanto em outras vemos atrasos.
    Mas essas diferenças não são importantes ...
    O importante mesmo é o aprendizado que conseguimos neste mundo.
    Estamos de passagem neste mundo, e não sabemos quando iremos partir.
    Precisamos fazer o bem. Cuidar da nossa alma.
    Fazer bem ao próximo.

    God damn it, you're not able to watch a video without complaining? If you do not like what you see, do not stay here, the guy makes the effort to make a video of the TRUE LIFE in India, I prefer it to a salesman who shows us that the beautiful corners of the country . Personally India is a country that has always interested me, so what you say I do not care, I never listen to rum and I prefer to make my own opinion. But where I have a problem is to insult those people who in my opinion have no choice it is not their fault but the government. Do not you think it's unfair to blame the inhabitants when they have no power over the thing? To have heart is important. and from what I've seen from this man's videos, Hindus have a lot of humanity, something that other cultures should perhaps consider. I would not blame them ... I wish them the best for the future. Full of love of Canada, I wish you the best.
