Yay! I'm so glad we get a Natalie lead series. Don't get me wrong, I love your mom and sister in law, but you are *always* my favorite part of the triple play series. Your style and fun fabric choices always make your quilts a highlight. I'm so glad to see you doing this.
Yayyyy, so glad to see a tutorial from Natalie too. I really enjoyed your previous tutorials on quilting and all the steps, lingo, easy squaring, etc. Hope you do more. Oh and I already said it before but again Congratulations on your marriage. Many happy days to you both.
I love your tutorials but even more so I love that you are back with your own format. Love from Germany! I wished I had had that information when I started.
Hi Natalie, so glad you're back with your detailed teaching. Forever, I have not understood WOF versus LOF and the selvage edge. Thank you so much for this series, love your teaching methods.
This is so needed for people new to quilting today. If you don't understand the basics, how are you going to know what to do. Previous generations got their knowledge first hand watching mommas, grandmas and neighbor ladies at quilting bees. We don't have that today. So, thanks
Natalie, it's so good to see you back with your own series! I wish there had been a video like this one when I started quilting in 2020. I had to pick it all up term by term on my own and it could be so confusing. I'm sure this will be amazingly helpful to beginners and it's a great reminder for those of us who've been around for a bit too.
Hi Natalie, so good to see you again I learned so much from you always you are the one that made like my seam ripper you said one day it gives you a chance to start over. Thank you for that.
Yay, Natalie is back in front of the camera, alone, and teaching in her clear, kind, and relatable way!! Just a little suggestion. Don't be afraid to slow down and take your time with your explanations, Natalie. We are all happy to listen to you and your experienced wisdom. This series is obviously designed for the rookie quilter, who needs you to assume that they literally know next to nothing about quilting. You always have a gift for breaking things down in a way that makes perfect sense. Natalie is my favorite quilter on MSQC. I love Misty and Jenny. However, Natalie is so creative and dynamic with her designs and color choices. Her quilts always take my breath away. She is awesome! More, more, more!
Great video, Natalie! Woot-woot!! This is something I could really have used when I started quilting (I'm a late bloomer when it come to sewing!) about a year and and a half ago. Well done! I look forward to more of your presentations. Thanking you!!
Could I say you are beautiful ! You are coming into yourself if that makes sense....great confidences! Even after I lost weight....I still didn't have a lot of confidences so I am so glad you do!!! You radiate HAPPINESS !
Agree with everyone else. Love you and your shows/demonstrations. Jenny is great, Misty is ok, but I relate to you far better. Miss your brother Jake as well. I loved him when he took over Misty's shows if she was out.
Hiiiiii Nat, You look phenomenal!!! I love your videos, missed ya, you’re just so awesome! Ohhhh but I love Your momma and Misti also ❤️ You all three are just fantastic ❤️
I love this video. Thank you. It’s nice to have an understanding of what everything means in the quilting world such as salvage, WOF, layer cakes, etc..
I love the way Natalie describes and teaches in her tutorials. My brain and hers I think work the same way. I'm very new to quilting and I wish I had known these terms before I started a few months ago. I had alot of a ha moments during this video!
Natalie it’s so good to see you again I for one missed you! You look great keep up the good work! Thanks for the tutorial! Beginner sewers 😊need this so much. We who have sewn for a long time may know this , but someone who is just starting needs this information. I couldn’t stand in front of a camera and teach like you, but just a little advise ( because I want to see more of your teaching) slow down just a tid bit. Love seeing you again! Come back and teach some more! Your a natural!
What a great video!!! Thank you,Natalie for explaining and showing what all these terms mean. I’m a new quilter and this was so helpful! Will be saving it so I can quickly refer to it as needed. 👍👍
Natalie, thats so much for the explanations of quilting lingo. I am looking forward to watching your Quilting 101 series. I love your teaching style. You are looking great!
As a fairly new quilter - I LOVED this video. Some facts I knew, but most I found so helpful and jotted some down in my quilt journal. Thank you for being so helpful.
Very helpful. I have been garment sewing since age 8. New to quilting at 63. These 101 videos are great for me to translate my existing sewing skills to quilt making. I have always “straightened” my fabric before cutting by either using the selvedge edge as my guide to keeping the grain straight, pulling a thread to maintain that straight grain, or even tearing the fabric which also follows the grain. It doesn’t appear that is considered important when quilting. In this video the edge is just cut to align with the ruler and make it visually straight, not necessarily following the grain. I feel like aligning the grain would have value to the integrity of the blocks, similar to sewing your rows in different directions, or avoiding steam. But, maybe not? I would appreciate comments from any experienced quilters out there.
That little bit at the beginning about the color swatches on the yardage will be so helpful for me! I, for some reason, have the hardest time picking out matching colors. Thanks for that!
It is so nice to see your videos again Natalie. I have missed your very helpful information for quilters especially since there are so many new quilters. Thank you.
Yay! I'm so glad we get a Natalie lead series. Don't get me wrong, I love your mom and sister in law, but you are *always* my favorite part of the triple play series. Your style and fun fabric choices always make your quilts a highlight. I'm so glad to see you doing this.
