- This was the first flight of my new Apco Cruiser 500 parachute. I still have my old parachute and am going to keep it as a backup provided it passes inspection. It has 593 hours on it, so I got a LOT of good flying out of it. Everything went well and I had a nice morning flight around Shelby County, Indiana.
So glad to see a new video! Your stuff is such a nice escape from the daily routine.
Thanks a lot!
Great to have you back! Awesome new parachute.
thanks!
Landed by chance on your channel . Loved this video. Andrés from Santiago, Chile.
Way cool, welcome to my channel and hope you enjoy my other adventures.
It is good to see the variations in the land display. It is enjoyable to watch you fly. Now that you have a new Parachute, you can really say you are beginning to write another chapter in your Powered Parachute flying.
Excited for you getting your new wing!!!!!😃 Seems to kite very well!
Thanks!
Good to see you back in the air. I always enjoy your videos
Thanks!
Nice to see you in the air again.
Thanks! Yep, it's about time. Nothing like a post-maintenance/new parachute test flight as my first flight after a 10 week layoff from flying. No pressure there.
I just ordered a cruser gt for my Buckeye 582... can't wait to see how it flys!!!
Way cool, let me know how it flies after you get it!
I fly a Destiny with its original rectangle chute but I just ordered a new Cruiser GT. Excited to see how it flies. I enjoy your videos!
You will love the Cruiser! I started with an Apco dovetail and the Cruiser is lightyears ahead; much better flying wing!
Nice and smooth!! What altitude you think you were at most of flight? Just got my chute back on and goose neck wheel installed!
Scott, what parachute are you flying? Like to know that upfront at the beginning of the video, as well as a wide shot of the trike and the brand or model of the trike. Except for the lack of information, your video shots were well planned and excellent camera work/placement.
The parachute name is in the video description, it's an Apco Cruiser 500. I fly a 1999 Buckeye Dream Machine Powered Parachute (it's not a PPG trike). Info about my PPC can be found here:

Let me know if the link works for you.
Good flight. How long did you have your old chute before you decided to change to a new one?
I flew it for 593 hours over 6 years.
Hey Scott have you flown a PD 500 or 550 and can compare? I am looking at buying a PPC that has the Apco Cruiser 550 - But my instructor is a hard core Performance Designs guy and says to try to stick to that. :\
I flew a PD when I was in training for my sport pilot PPC certificate. It's been so long that I don't recall how it handled. However, my Dream Machine had an Apco dovetail chute when I purchased it. I put about 15-20 hours on it before I sent it in for inspection and it failed. That's when I purchased the Cruiser 500 (back in 2017) and haven't looked back. The Cruise is awesome.
@@ScottRichardson_PPCthanks my friend.
@@AlpineWarren You're welcome. You'll be very happy with the Cruiser.
What are the square brackets on your steering bar for?
Foot rests, which I never use because I have short legs LOL!
What’s your headgear setup? I need to get something quick
The link to my helmets, etc is in this doc:

Who’d you get your new Apco from?
Bill Wallace. Bought both of my Cruisers from him.

Hey what Mount holder is that for your radio. ?
RAM mount. I'll have to dig for which particular RAM pieces.
@@ScottRichardson_PPC I figured so, looks like a good ride! Thanks
Cruiser GT?
Nope, just a regular Cruiser 500.
