Well done Mike for helping Kate - AND for going on the tour with her - I hope you enjoyed it!! Great seeing both of you in convo with Cardo and enjoying the scenery and the ride!
The overview of the road you are about to go on is so cool to see. Also for yourself so you can visualize the road what's to come.
Never rode twisties like this in my riding time. Nor in the mountains for that matter. But plan to do get some riding in on there in the oncoming year. 😄
I've driven all of those roads and more.... love it, the scenery is fantastic but I'm still to do it on two wheels and now can't wait after watching this. Well done, great stuff!
Beautiful 🤩👍
Carol & I have done 5 or 6 years with Canary Motorcycle Tours. Such a brilliant thing to do during the British winter.
Riders can learn a lot by following Martin, he's such a smooth rider and always keeps well over on his side of the road. Joy does a fantastic job of organisation.
If you know the state of British roads, then it is no wonder that many Brits hog the white line, so Martin is living his best life here, and using his side of the road to its full extent!!
Those roads just don't wanna stop being sexy...! Even better than riding the Swiss passes. However I must say, the views in the Alps are more varied and largely much greener, but then again, in the Alps, there is much more traffic.., incredible how quiet these roads are, so 1-0 to the Canaries.
And you sure are selling this Tour well..., you're certainly tickling my fancy with this Series.
What a fun ride!! Thanks for showing; it's similar to my Province's Vancouver Island with a bit of northern California thrown in. Cheers from the Pacific West Coast of Canada
I have a real soft spot for the SV. I had the old half faired version back in 2006 with the black ally frame and loved it as a return to bikes after quite some years away. I did about 12K miles in 6 months of ownership till I jumped to a GSXR1000K6. The engine was a peach and although I might be wrong (usually) the current one looks like a derivative of mine with the twin spark heads, That engines roots go back over 2 decades and shows how good it was to start with. If I recall correctly keep it spinning around 2.5K and it's smooth on pick up, much lower and it chugged more than a tad. Anyway some great roads and a terrific commentary with MIke's views as well. I never used to count the gears as I was used to the bikes of the last century so just tried to keep the motor spinning in the comfort zone even though my bike had a gear indicator. Another top job Kate and Mike.
Awesome video! Mike is the best. I could hear a lot of what he was saying and it was helpful in my riding. Well done. We have a lot of those hairpins here. Really great content. Best!
I don’t even hav a motorcycle, stumbled across Kate from mountain biking network
Well done , always enjoyable to watch 😊these
That's one of the best roads I've seen you ride. Nice scenery in the UK, but this is epic. I love the look of that goaty road. The V-strom 650 would have been much nicer on that. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks!
Having fun on switch backs and looking over the edge.
Feathering the clutch is Kate"s goal.
Man the last part of the video those drop offs!
😬😬😬
Nice vlog. Amazing roads 👍
Would love to do this someday. Thanks for taking us along.
Great video loverly tour! ❤x
Went to Slovenia with Canary motorcycle tours...amazing trip..going to do the 3 islands with them in Feb 25...highly recommend
Me and lillie are back from Slovenia with them. Amazing place!
@@UsernameKate brilliant aren't they ...josè is a loon 😂...Ljubljana is beautiful too
Looks like you were on an alien planet, awesome.
Fluffy goats 🐐 new one on me😂
It does look like a good ride and I understand your concern with the switchbacks. I took my tiger 900 rally pro over the zillertal pass in Austria while I was working in Munich and you definitely need your wits about you, especially as I had only been back on bikes for just over a year after a 37 year lay off
While the road wasn’t optimal it was a beautiful ride and the bike wasn’t the best fit I hope you were able to enjoy it.
excellent
Do or do not.....there is not 'try' 😁
I know this video wasn’t about the bike particularly but what’s your take on the SV? Seems to me like an excellent all-rounder :)
This "rising plain" and "the smell of flour" are symbols of a bygone era, perhaps memories of a simpler time, of a city less invaded by tourism. Does it remind you of anything in particular?
🤔 , for 2024 i was also thinking about teneriffa ...beside mallorca / ibiza ;spain look intresting
(was a speed restriction at the sv650 while top-case riding? sh125i "not more 130km/h ~80mph)
❤
In Spain and Portugal, older people don't know how to drive. You just have to get used to it.
If intercoms are illegal in Spain does that mean you can't have spoken directions from the satnav. I thought it was just the in ear bud type of speaker.
Not much chance of squaring off your tyres on those roads 😂
Fluffy goats? 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Kate has an eye for the Fluffy! Check out the Fluffy Cows (with a blow dry!) from the Northumbria vlogs!
@@gk73man51 If I remember correctly this is indeed where the whole fluffy in-joke started. I personally think it is a true art to keep repeating zany jokes time and time again but at the same time vary their exact content “subtly”. Not everybody gets / appreciates that. 🤣
I'd love to claim it's calculated 🤣 it's just what pops into my brain haha
@@UsernameKate Well, we have already discussed the Dory effect from Finding Nemo in the past. And didn’t the dog from the Up movie have a similar attention deficiency problem? Avoiding any kinky cosplay insinuations (erm …. well almost) I can only come to the conclusion that you are at least constantly on some elicit substance. 🤣
Kate, What jacket are you wearing?
Knox Urbane Pro Mark 3 :)
Is it just me? Where are days one, two and three?
ua-cam.com/video/2cvXfzDMsoA/v-deo.html --- hopefully this should take you to the full playlist :)
@UsernameKate Ah, thank you, I didn't look back that far. I thought you'd uploaded the wrong one!
Haha nooo, I'm just not very consistent 🤣🤣🤣
Afternoon Kate. There's some scary roads on that island with the hairpins and long drops to the sides.🤗
I was looking at the link for Bikesure and noticed the domain is registered to .ly. As the other affiliate links. Are they actually based in Libya?
It's a Bitly link. They're used by content creators to track clicks which can be a useful tool in re securing partnership contracts etc. I believe Bitly is USA based :)
@@UsernameKate Oh I see. It seemed a bit strange that there might be registrations in Libya!
Haha noooo don't worry 🤣
The goat track is in better condition than most of the roads in a 30 mile radius of my house!
