Once again a great podcast! This time I actually had quite some experiences actually! I always have one scetchbook almost completely full before buying a new one and only starting it when I finished the previous one! I also so far have loooads of art supplies I still have to use... But usually I find a use for everything I get (but sometimes I give it to my siblings if I already have enough of that type of art supply so it won't stay unused for years) And to the what is art thing: I think Art is everything and nothing at the same time, it's so inseparably connected to us as humans as are emotions... It's completely subjective to every individual, I don't think it can be clearly defined and it shouldn't. And the fact that Museums and the broad majority regard only certain art as "real" art still stems from a time where art was gatekept as a thing for the rich and educated.... Despite being one of the first things we did as humans with the simplest things. I also think that the big "thinking" pieces the pieces showing cruel things, the reason they get more attention and more attributed significance is human nature... We don't have to be wary of the good and safe things... They do not threaten us in any way.. But those horrible things? They are a threat, our mind wants to remember them, wants to be wary of them to recognize them fast.. To protect us from them (of course this is not like the only reason.. But I think it's a big part of it)
But I still think we should be more acknowledging of all the good and beautiful things happening, small or big and we should celebrate the art depicting it more.
    But enough said now 😂
I really loved this podcast as well, it was so chill and interesting and for me personally the whole business talk is something I am not familiar with but I am very curious about so I loved hearing about it ❤

Thank you for taking the time to tell us what you thought!
I think I heard someone talk about how we think about animal behaviours and human behaviours differently in a weird way. We accept that a bird sings different songs and tease each other, and dogs search and hunt for fun, because they just do. But when a human sings/dances/makes art it’s suddenly only something you do if you can do it well. While it would be a lot more logical to say ‘this is something that humans do’.
When a child makes a (ugly) drawing we accept it as something that they had fun doing but when an adult makes that drawing it’s seen as silly and a waste of time. As if enjoying the act of drawing is no longer the main focus of the drawing.
Anyways there are never real and true answers but it’s so interesting to think about and form your own opinions! And it’ll help you understand why you feel how you do about certain things :)
