Hi Grace! You got some really nice patterns there. I stayed clear of JoAnn's during this last sale but they really did have a good sale. So did The Sewing Studio on the 4th but I stayed clear of that, too. I've got a few projects going that I need to finish before I add anything new to the pile. I hope to get back in to my sewing nook this week-end and get some work done. Have a great week-end!

Had a showdown with my sewing machine yesterday 😅 Finally put some machine oil in it but then when I put things back together, the bobbin thread refused to pull upwards so I refilled a bobbin and had to rethread the machine multiple times.😮
I have a Singer Patchwork 7285 Q but am not 100% thrilled with it. I'd like to get a Pfaff Select machine when I'm able to.

Hey Grace! I had to laugh at your suggestion of Simplicity 9287 - the Gertie pattern. I bought that pattern recently at JoAnn's pattern sale based on your previous video! Great minds, huh?!? I really love sweetheart necklines and the overall style of the top. Your blouse is just beautiful!!! A lot of the Butterick patterns you bought are the same patterns I bought recently also. I make a crazy long list of patterns I want whenever there is a pattern sale at JoAnn's. I'm able to get about 50% of what I want and some that I do find, I end up changing my mind and not getting it. I predict that JoAnn's will have to re-stock paper patterns within 2-3 years, when they realize they've made a big marketing mistake gambling on their Ditto system and are loosing a lot of revenue. Paper patterns are what brings garment sewists through their door! Simplicity's website has pattern sales, so a lot of business will go in that direction. May not be able to get them for $1.99, but Simplicity does have $4.99 clearance pattern sales and pattern brand sales for $5.99 per pattern two or three times a year, which is far better than paying full price at Hobby Lobby. I've got my list for the upcoming McCall's pattern sale at JoAnn's. Going to buy what I can, while I can!

That halter neck would look amazing on you. Our Butterick pattern does look good doesn't it 👏🏼. I love your Gertie blouse, that is a bit brave for me but I don't know, I may buy it after seeing yours. I stay away from tight fitting tops yet still wear tight t shirts 😂. I'm odd 🤣. Hi Grace Your top looks great, especially with the sweetheart neckline. Your clothes always fit perfectly. Do you cut the pattern to your nearest size and then alter or do you adjust the pattern before you cut. Thanks for any advice.
Thanks Catherine! I usually cut the pattern pieces to the finished garment measurement. Then I baste stitch shoulder and side seams and adjust the garment if needed, then stitch/serge.
