I have 3 concerns, screen brightness outdoors, battery life and how well the inner screen holds up after a few folds. I’m also not sure why they didn’t wait until the 8 series launches and put the G3 in the Fold. The launch date is only a few months away.
Screen brightness is fine for short periods, but if you expose it to the sun it will dim the screen to stop thermals from overheating; just common sense. Battery life is dependent on the ratio of front and inner display use. I am getting 7 hours of SOT when extrapolated, which is more than enough for my 4 hours of use a day. As for the display, well even now Fold4s are breaking regular and Samsung offering free screen protector upgrades as many are failing in year one. You need open eyes if you buy these devices as people will get devices that break as QC is years behind candy bar phones. Again this is obvious.

I love the outer screen format, way better than my fold 4! Not having a 1TB version is a problem and those inner bezels are hard to look at if you've been on a Z fold prior to this. The biggest thing is they are charging top dollar for a device with a year old processor that was already weak to begin with (compared to last years snap 8 gen 1 let alone this years snap 8 gen 2). I just dont think its worth what they are asking if Im being honest.

So I already decided I wasn’t gonna be getting one of these a couple days after it was announced, just because I didn’t want to use a folding phone badly enough to spend $1800 and then go through the hassle of switching from IOS to Android - but man, that battery life means that even if I could snap my fingers and skip the $1800 and the hassle of switching, I dunno if I’d be happy with it. My iPhone XR gets only a little more than that much screen-on time in a day, and it’s adequate - but it’s a 2018 model phone that’s never had its battery swapped out. It used to get 8-10 hours of screen on time. In five years, if I had a phone in my pocket getting 2-3 hours? Unacceptable.
