In the late 80s we were not even 20 yet, and were already playing themes by Marty Friedman and Cacophony.
I don't know how it sounded at the time, but it seemed like a good time to record it, some 35 years later.
It remains a beautiful melody that does not return at all in the rest of the song, but that is not unusual with Cacophony.
Nice how they came up with the idea that instead of arpeggios you can also just play the pentatonic scale up and down.
And also how in the intro the melody gradually emerges through different guitars that come along.
Anyway, enjoy Cacophony, Black Cat intro - a masterpiece by Marty Friedman and Jason Becker.

Until today i dont know if this intro is a ancient chinese theme or not.

I think there is some prior usage to it. I recall hearing the melody un a tradicional Dutch theme
