Tbh, most females on TikTok we’re shaking their butt with a flower on there head on TikTok using the song 🤦🏻♂️ if u wanna know how it really blew up. Yet the artist is fantastic just to me wish it would’ve blown up a different way
It’s interesting to me how an artist can not be known or influenctial in their own country yet be a huge star overseas. Tyla is one of them. In terms of amapiano in SA tyla isn’t even known because SA prefers their own traditional amapiano artists like kelvin momo, kabza, Sam deep ect. But internationally tyla is more popular because she incorporates English and rnb into her amapiano sound. She jumps over that language barrier which most SA artists struggle to do and she always has all the qualities to cross over. She very much fits perfectly into that RNB slot but she bring a soft amapiano sound with her which makes her stand out from all the other rnb girlies
@@QuickBucksOnline definitely one of the reasons. When singing she sounds American which definitely works in her favour and helps her cross over easier then someone who only singing in Zulu or pidgin
The western world thinks when they don't know someone then even their country doesn't do enough research on her before you comment something like this, she got an award in her country before your countries knew her and it's an Internet era the people who are lucky to use it for their carriers have big testimonies in just the short time period she started at 16 serious work, released her song at 17 you people have known her in her 20s but all you know is complain
@@Evelynokwa no one is complaining and also Tylas impact in the SA industry is not as significant as her peers. I am South African and I know that Tyla had her hit song getting late but compared to the other songs that year her song wasn’t even in the top 20 songs that South Africans were vibing too. I think Tyla made the right decision targeting the international market rather then trying to compete in the SA industry because I think she will definitely find more appreciation for her music overseas then in SA. Most South Africans didn’t really give Tyla attention until she went international. Now she’s big in SA because we see her overseas success but prior she wasn’t talked about in the industry people were more concerned with other amapiano artists/djs and rappers.
This is a really great video! You know fun fact she did a summer tour and she had been performing another version of the song 'water' in which made a lot of people excited for the song. * I think that version of 'water' was for testing the waters(no pun intended)but I don't know. 💗🌸
Ohhh thanks for sharing that! Would be worth including such details in the Part 2 as well since it looks at the other factors other than Tik Tok. Tyla and her team have been great at creating buzz and having patience for the right moment! Love to see it
Aww, that's so sweet! Tyla is on her way and people are loving her. You have amazing content by the way. The way you explain things in your videos and include so much detail is very interesting and well put together. 💗🌸✨️
I'm very happy and proud of her, however although I understands the power of strategic marketing her rise to fame from her debut single was sooo quick, I mean fresh out of matric she had her first hit which happened to also be her first song .Am I missing something? No hate just genuinely confused.
Interesting question... I explained that trajectory and how it happened in a video I did nearly 3 years ago titled "How Tyla Made It So Quickly". It's on this channel, check it out.

She's definitely an industry plant. She had a song that blew up in 2021 and then was signed to Epic records not long after. Released 2 songs last year and now is at the forefront of charts. Yeah she is for damn sure the labels money machine
Im so proud of Tyla🇿🇦🙏

How many followers did she have when she released her debut track at 19? I think 1 million on tiktok
Hey I’m a big fan I’m a new subscriber. I’m getting into Afro beats, can you pls reply 😅❤
She had a powerful social media presence at the time and has since multiplied that reach well
Thank you for the part two🎉

Meanwhile it is not even top10 in South Ahh
Why do you think that is? I'd love to know your thoughts on that
But the music video is trending #1 in South Africa.

That not really Afrobeat, it more of Afro-pop, RNB and Amapiano(Log Drum).

Thanks for the suggestion! Do you have something specific within African Hip Hop you'd like me to do a video on?
