Trying to decide if I'm willing to give up the virtual-soundstage of a Sonos Ultra to go with these for better music listening, at a much lower price point.
@ I don’t yet, but the Sonos Ultra in white would fit like a glove on my entertainment cabinet. I have the Kanto REN ordered for pickup this week, and likely will refund my money to get the Sonos.
@@WaltsTV thank you walts taking time to respond. After searching i ended up buying Vanatoo Transparent zero plus with $130 discount black friday sale.. excited after all the great reviews across the board.
Definitely the ORA4. I have a pair on either side of my 27" monitor. They should be placed 8" - 10" from the back wall. And DEFINITELY buy the Kanto SP6HD or SP9 stands, whichever positions the tweeter level with your ears. Don't use the C-Shaped stands. They're too flimsy and position the woofer too close to the desk which will cause resonance and distortion. When I first got the ORA4s, they sounded awful - boomy bass that masked the midrange and treble. But after 20 hours of break-in, they sounded awesome, especially for the money.
How's the tweeter hiss? These look nice for desktop/near-field, but I'm pretty sensitive to hiss.
Will you do Ren vs Tuk?
probably not because they are completely different tweeters and a different sound.
How do they compare to YU6 sound wise, not taking into consideration connectivity upgrades?
Better, more soundstage, However the real focus is the connectivity at the end of the day.

Do you already have a sonos Ultra?? if you do I wouldn't throw it out, why not have both?!

yes! gotta love updated bluetooth!
Great review! This against the Audioengine A5+ how would they compare?
Thanks! And I have not heard the Audioengines but so far im a huge fan of what Kanto has done with their powered speakers!
I just can't get over what he did to his father in The Force Awakens.
Agreed!
