Considering how the developers essentially made a sequel to Vermander's Curse, I would like it if they made another game based on the Midnight Maids' adventures. As explained from their dialogue, it seems they have done a lot of odd jobs- one involving something like almost being buried alive. Now *that* is something I'd like to know.
They should make a book series off their games because midnight maids and the vermanders curse could be a 2 parter book in a way. Or this could be a connected universe and become a book series.😮
Every single Zed_Technician Game are connected into a world. Recently when Zed_Technician release a sequel that was popular and made him started developing more games that being "The Man in the Window" he created a sequel "The Man in the Window 2" and in that game if you get the secret star in the sequel there will be a chance that you will meet JP Vermander in "TMITW2". I'm not gonna say how your gonna do it but you can search in UA-cam but anyways all of Zed_Technician games are connected to one universe and this universe is filled with creatures, ghost, monsters, demons and humans. The world of Zed_Technician games is pure weird and fantasies.
I love how these games are starting to connect to one another Its really fleshing out the world they're set in and makes me wonder what comes next in the story Plus these character designs and stories are so unique they're quickly becoming some of my favorites

Seeing characters with diverse body types is always nice and seeing fat characters in horror games that aren't used in a "Ew look a gross fat monster lol" way just makes me happy as someone who could be considered heavier than average It's just nice seeing large characters not used as some kind of gross monster and instead showed as real people (like the sweet old sheep cook from one game reminded me so much of my grandma it made me happy)
I figured you'd do a story video on this. I enjoy how this game is kind of tying these stories together into some lore. I hope the creator continues on this route as he seems to be making a pretty interesting world and setting :3

I think Ruth is actually supposed to be a cockroach. She mentions being nocturnal and most ants don't sleep but for a few minutes at a time, and the mouth part isn't anatomically accurate for most ant species. I speculate this might also be the reason why their previous job was cancelled, but that's just guessing on my part since the game doesn't dwell on it long. I could be wrong, though. Edit: Whoops, Ruth didn't say she was nocturnal. Naomi did. My bad. But I think my theory has weight.
I think you’re right. Cockroaches don’t like light and prefer dark spaces. “They (roaches) will always scatter and move towards dark corners when you turn on the light” - quote from pest control.
J.P and Joe are different characters and Joe is either J.P's brother or dad. Joe has red hair and didn't know the estate was sold off and J.P had brown hair, lived, and had to sell off the estate to pay off debts.

I love the kind of Mike Flanagan type of horror this dev goes for. If you don't know, Mike Flanagan is a movie director whos main like philosophy for horror movies is that there can be no horror without there also being hope.
The dev of this game is definitely gonna have a name for themself. I love how they have an almost fairytale-esque world with the mix of animals and people. I also love how there’s themes of privilege and poverty in all the games. The little details in their games are so unique and and the game itself is so stylized
I don’t think J.P. Vermander and Joseph vermander are the same person. They have different facial hair, slightly different hair colours, and different hats. They also have a different name. And all the vermanders we’ve met have names beginning with J, so I don’t think an initial of J is enough to go on.
Something weird about the timeline is that in the first game JP had to sell the properties to payback debts but in this game he’s unaware of the mansion (a property they owned) having been sold

It seems they are and set in the same town. The appointment that cancelled had to be Sam from Beware the Shadow Catcher and the estate was owned by J.P Vermander from The Vermander Curse. Maybe The Man in the Window takes place in the same town as the other games do.
One thing I find interesting is that so far the antagonists of the series have either been too ambiguous to be evil (the Man behind the window), doing bad things as part of a job (the shadowcatcher), merely following the will of another (The demon J.P. summons) or are eventually redeemed (J.P. Vermander himself). Jeremiah is thus far the ONLY antagonist to be unambiguously evil, being a murderer of several people (at the LEAST less than a dozen, perhaps more) as well as an abusive parent. he's alsothe only antagonist who doesn't jsut leave (the man behind the window) or redeem himself (J.P Vermander and the shadowcather and arguably the demon). He instead is sent to hell. I dunno what my pint was, just an observation.
I think J.P might be the cousin of Joseph since it is likely Jeremiah had at least one sibling or maybe even more. I mean they both have the last name vermander and some of these old money families had a lot of relatives, however perhaps we might meet some of these relatives in later games but have probably either changed their surname or have taken the surname of the family they have married into.
Same here, both of the stories are relatively interesting, and the mechanics, although a little tedious in Midnight Maid Night, both of them are still fun and a good time-killer.
I’m glad you did a story video for this I was curious what would happen if you got caught by Jeremiah but I didn’t realize that this was timed. Knowing that Cornelius and Agatha aren’t actually trying to hurt the maids is pretty interesting too. Looking forward to the next one as always
Can really appreciate this game dev making a whole lot of his cast plus sized women of varying ages. When I first started seeing these games, I was worried they were going to get weird with it, but I'm glad they're being written as just straight up heroines.
It would be ok representation if it wasn’t literally the same body type for each female character, the men get varied models for their bodies but the woman get slight unnoticeable changes. I dont think this guy is doing it for “representation”

To be fair, the text for him jumping at the maids says he was gunning for vengeance; I think offering the paper was him offering Jeremiah just one last chance to be anything remotely resembling a decent human being
Zed should bring more about the Vermander family and it's mysterious members, that family sure is responsible for a ton of weird creatures out there in this universe
I have a theory that Joseph and JP are not the same person. 4 reasons; Joseph seems to be younger than JP. They have different dress styles and mannerisms. Their noses are different. And we don’t see the office where JP sits in the first game *anywhere* in this house. (I know the first two are circumstantial). I think it’s more likely that JP is either an uncle or a cousin of Joseph who lived somewhere else. What do you think?
I don't really think that J.P and Joseph are the same person. Like, Joseph was always trying to be a good person and JP was not. Also, it seems that in the family people has names that start with J. Also, JP sold the state, why would he be like "so we finally lost it" if he knew that he sold it. finally, JP probably stans for Jean-Pierre, Jean-Paul.
Actually J.P Vermander's real name Is Jonathan P. Vermander "but where did you that info" you ask? Hmm? Well it's because in the man from the window 2 if we beat tough mode we get a good ending and J.P Vermander shows up as the food delivery driver and if we look closely on his name tag we could see that his name is Jonathan
So I don't think Joseph Vermander is J.P. Vermander. The personality and hair color are all wrong. Let's just assume for a moment, from the Vermander Curse, is actually the late father Jeremiah. This would fit along with his personality, how J.P. died in that game, and the hair color of both characters. Seeing as how Joseph makes several mentions to how greedy, crual and uncaring his father, Jeremiah, was it fits with J.P. and how greedy and cruel he is. I think up until his fathers death, and how it's mentioned later how Joseph tried to run away, it's safer to assume Jeremiah trapped his son in that mansion, unable to leave, even in death. Just my opinion on the subject of course ^^
Yeah Joseph and JP are definitely not the same person, the end of The Vermander Curse specifically stated that after the mansion was sold, Jp moved into the hospital to make ends meet, not once mentioning anywhere that he died

I love these stories. Mostly because they all happen to regular working class people struggling to make ends meet, having to deal with whatever happens in the games. I like the designs a lot too, they're a far cry from the regular "slightly unshaved 30yo white dude" thing most popular horror games have doing on

My theory is that JP Vermander is actually a branch in the Vermander family, instead of being a direct ancestor or descendant of Jeremiah and Joseph. Reasons for this is that JP's history and events don't line up with them. Remember that JP turned good at the good ending of the Vermander's curse, so it would make no sense for Jeremiah would be evil if he descended from a person who improved himself after realizing his errors and losing his mansion, while Jeremiah had one when he was alive. He couldn't be a descendant as well, as Jeremiah's son; Joseph died before he could've children. Which meant that JP wouldn't exist. So that could possibly mean that JP is likely a distant relative of Jeremiah; as they both share the family name, but their events differ.
2:45 I personally don't think Joseph is JP; JP's whole golden ending is that he lived to be a better person ad a normal person. I think Joseph might be JP's father or something simply because otherwise the good ending to the Vermander curse kinda gets overridden and so far this dev has been pretty good about not doing things like that, also JP has a full and different beard while Joseph only has the triangle as well as having red hair and locks while JP had brown and short hair. And it doesn't make sense for JP not to know that everything was being sold since he sold it all to give to the hospital. Joseph seems to be a ghost like the others, just not malevolent due to his conflict with his father's spirit
While "Bizarre Horror Fairytale" is an apt descriptor for many of Zed Technican's games, I would comment that Joseph is likely also dead and an ancestor to J.P. Vermander.

I don't think JP and Joseph are the same person. First off they have different facial hair, second JP is very specifically alive at the end of the Vermander curse and this game takes place very recently after the good end of the Vermander Curse where JP loses the estate. I think Joseph is JP's dad.
I certainly hope not. Despite the game being relatively short, I found myself growing attached to Ruth and Naomi. Their dynamic is really fun to see play out, with the cynical and tired Naomi constantly trying to stop the more optimistic and upbeat Ruth from getting them killed. Plus I wanna see what other ghosts they’ve helped get rid of. Seems to be a side hustle of theirs.
This is a really cool sequel. Also it's nice to see how well Joseph continued to change for the better even in the afterlife. The good ending is really nice.

I love this series. The world building, character designs, story, and game play seem to be really good. I hope they make more sequels to the first. It really fleshes out the world better. Also i agree that joey here is definitely not jp. He didnt know about the mansion being sold. Theres a lot of other hints too. He’s most likely jp’s father that haunted the place. His grandfather killed his father, which resulted in jp inheriting everything.
In defense of people thinking Joseph and J.P. are the same people, I can't blame you. Considering that info was revealed on Twitter than anywhere within the game, it's clear the story should be shown right away than through extra materials.

JP and Joseph are most likely different people. Joseph tried reforming the businesses while JP wasn't a good businessman without magic and they all failed so he sold them, JP sold everything to give it to the hospital while Joseph doesn't know the manor was sold, Joseph being taller and more muscular and having long red hair and and a goatee while JP was short with brown short hair and a full jerk beard.

It's probably been mentioned before, but I don't think Joseph and J.P. are the same person: it's just that the Vermanders seemed to have a thing for names that start with "J" (Jeremiah, Joseph and J.P.). More likely, J.P is a son or maybe a grandson of Joseph (we don't know how far back the events discussed in Midnight Maid Night took place), and the reason he's not haunted by the supernatural shenanigans of his ancestors from this game is because their influence is limited to the mansion and its grounds, and he has since moved out...
I'm sceptical that Joseph is the original JP vermander because I'm fairly sure this guy would be JJ vermander so I think JP lost the mansion and went off to do something else then the ghosts and maids move to their story

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like J.P Vermander and Joseph aren't the same. Joseph and J.P Vermander, while both sharing very similar appearances, do have differences. Primarily between their hair, and facial hair. These are small details however, and naturally this could just be a mistake. But still, I feel like if J.P Vermander had been killed, they would've known as he was clearly a big part of the town. I mean c'mon, if the guy who basically ran the town just up and died, hell, got MURDERED, I'm pretty sure news would come around.

Jeremiah is thus far the ONLY antagonist to be unambiguously evil, being a murderer of several people (at the LEAST less than a dozen, perhaps more) as well as an abusive parent. he's alsothe only antagonist who doesn't jsut leave (the man behind the window) or redeem himself (J.P Vermander and the shadowcather and arguably the demon). He instead is sent to hell.
I dunno what my pint was, just an observation.
I think J.P might be the cousin of Joseph since it is likely Jeremiah had at least one sibling or maybe even more. I mean they both have the last name vermander and some of these old money families had a lot of relatives, however perhaps we might meet some of these relatives in later games but have probably either changed their surname or have taken the surname of the family they have married into.
My fav game from Zed Technician is a ties between this and the vermanders curse since I genuinely can't decide which one is better
Same here, both of the stories are relatively interesting, and the mechanics, although a little tedious in Midnight Maid Night, both of them are still fun and a good time-killer.
I’m glad you did a story video for this I was curious what would happen if you got caught by Jeremiah but I didn’t realize that this was timed. Knowing that Cornelius and Agatha aren’t actually trying to hurt the maids is pretty interesting too. Looking forward to the next one as always

Can really appreciate this game dev making a whole lot of his cast plus sized women of varying ages. When I first started seeing these games, I was worried they were going to get weird with it, but I'm glad they're being written as just straight up heroines.
Interesting viewpoint to hear
It would be ok representation if it wasn’t literally the same body type for each female character, the men get varied models for their bodies but the woman get slight unnoticeable changes. I dont think this guy is doing it for “representation”

To be fair, the text for him jumping at the maids says he was gunning for vengeance; I think offering the paper was him offering Jeremiah just one last chance to be anything remotely resembling a decent human being
Zed should bring more about the Vermander family and it's mysterious members, that family sure is responsible for a ton of weird creatures out there in this universe
I have a theory that Joseph and JP are not the same person. 4 reasons; Joseph seems to be younger than JP. They have different dress styles and mannerisms. Their noses are different. And we don’t see the office where JP sits in the first game *anywhere* in this house. (I know the first two are circumstantial).
I think it’s more likely that JP is either an uncle or a cousin of Joseph who lived somewhere else.

I don't really think that J.P and Joseph are the same person. Like, Joseph was always trying to be a good person and JP was not. Also, it seems that in the family people has names that start with J.
Also, JP sold the state, why would he be like "so we finally lost it" if he knew that he sold it. finally, JP probably stans for Jean-Pierre, Jean-Paul.
Actually J.P Vermander's real name Is Jonathan P. Vermander "but where did you that info" you ask? Hmm? Well it's because in the man from the window 2 if we beat tough mode we get a good ending and J.P Vermander shows up as the food delivery driver and if we look closely on his name tag we could see that his name is Jonathan
So I don't think Joseph Vermander is J.P. Vermander. The personality and hair color are all wrong. Let's just assume for a moment, from the Vermander Curse, is actually the late father Jeremiah. This would fit along with his personality, how J.P. died in that game, and the hair color of both characters. Seeing as how Joseph makes several mentions to how greedy, crual and uncaring his father, Jeremiah, was it fits with J.P. and how greedy and cruel he is.
I think up until his fathers death, and how it's mentioned later how Joseph tried to run away, it's safer to assume Jeremiah trapped his son in that mansion, unable to leave, even in death.

Yeah Joseph and JP are definitely not the same person, the end of The Vermander Curse specifically stated that after the mansion was sold, Jp moved into the hospital to make ends meet, not once mentioning anywhere that he died
I agree, he seems more like JP's brother (possibly younger). There is also the drastic difference in their choice of style, both clothes and hair.

if i had to guess, Joseph could possibly be JP's uncle, since Joe doesn't state whether or not he found someone after Agatha when he was still alive

I love these stories. Mostly because they all happen to regular working class people struggling to make ends meet, having to deal with whatever happens in the games. I like the designs a lot too, they're a far cry from the regular "slightly unshaved 30yo white dude" thing most popular horror games have doing on

It has that oldschool JRPG flare, where the weird is treated as normal.
My theory is that JP Vermander is actually a branch in the Vermander family, instead of being a direct ancestor or descendant of Jeremiah and Joseph. Reasons for this is that JP's history and events don't line up with them.
Remember that JP turned good at the good ending of the Vermander's curse, so it would make no sense for Jeremiah would be evil if he descended from a person who improved himself after realizing his errors and losing his mansion, while Jeremiah had one when he was alive.
He couldn't be a descendant as well, as Jeremiah's son; Joseph died before he could've children. Which meant that JP wouldn't exist.
So that could possibly mean that JP is likely a distant relative of Jeremiah; as they both share the family name, but their events differ.

2:45 I personally don't think Joseph is JP; JP's whole golden ending is that he lived to be a better person ad a normal person. I think Joseph might be JP's father or something simply because otherwise the good ending to the Vermander curse kinda gets overridden and so far this dev has been pretty good about not doing things like that, also JP has a full and different beard while Joseph only has the triangle as well as having red hair and locks while JP had brown and short hair. And it doesn't make sense for JP not to know that everything was being sold since he sold it all to give to the hospital. Joseph seems to be a ghost like the others, just not malevolent due to his conflict with his father's spirit

I don't think JP and Joseph are the same person. First off they have different facial hair, second JP is very specifically alive at the end of the Vermander curse and this game takes place very recently after the good end of the Vermander Curse where JP loses the estate. I think Joseph is JP's dad.

I certainly hope not. Despite the game being relatively short, I found myself growing attached to Ruth and Naomi. Their dynamic is really fun to see play out, with the cynical and tired Naomi constantly trying to stop the more optimistic and upbeat Ruth from getting them killed. Plus I wanna see what other ghosts they’ve helped get rid of. Seems to be a side hustle of theirs.
I think they will be focusing on the origins of the man from the door, how he is summoned, how the book gets there?

This is a really cool sequel. Also it's nice to see how well Joseph continued to change for the better even in the afterlife. The good ending is really nice.

I love this series. The world building, character designs, story, and game play seem to be really good. I hope they make more sequels to the first. It really fleshes out the world better.

Joseph tried reforming the businesses while JP wasn't a good businessman without magic and they all failed so he sold them, JP sold everything to give it to the hospital while Joseph doesn't know the manor was sold, Joseph being taller and more muscular and having long red hair and and a goatee while JP was short with brown short hair and a full jerk beard.

It's probably been mentioned before, but I don't think Joseph and J.P. are the same person: it's just that the Vermanders seemed to have a thing for names that start with "J" (Jeremiah, Joseph and J.P.). More likely, J.P is a son or maybe a grandson of Joseph (we don't know how far back the events discussed in Midnight Maid Night took place), and the reason he's not haunted by the supernatural shenanigans of his ancestors from this game is because their influence is limited to the mansion and its grounds, and he has since moved out...
Imagine how more terrifying the game would be with realistic graphics
I'm sceptical that Joseph is the original JP vermander because I'm fairly sure this guy would be JJ vermander so I think JP lost the mansion and went off to do something else then the ghosts and maids move to their story
He's not J.P Vermander. and they have different hair coloring. One had red hair and the other brown. Joe is J.P's brother or dad. Maybe another relative like a cousin.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like J.P Vermander and Joseph aren't the same. Joseph and J.P Vermander, while both sharing very similar appearances, do have differences. Primarily between their hair, and facial hair. These are small details however, and naturally this could just be a mistake. But still, I feel like if J.P Vermander had been killed, they would've known as he was clearly a big part of the town. I mean c'mon, if the guy who basically ran the town just up and died, hell, got MURDERED, I'm pretty sure news would come around.
