I think that it was the Bucky Starling and not Brandon himself that did the attacks. Could explain why it creeped out Olivia so much and “didn’t act human”. It technically wasn’t human by that point
Yeah and when the starling banged it’s head against the door it actually left a disgusting stain why would a fur suit make a stain on a door unless it was the starlings blood
Minor correction: The walrus wasn't actually with the rest of the cast when they first crashed the boat. If you read Walter's dialogue, he clearly states that he came on his own boat at a different time than Bucky and Co. (and also he isn't on the boat in the title screen). The boat you retrieve in Walter's minigame is his, not Bucky's. Bucky's boat is a reward from the wolf.
Small correction, fentanyl is a pain medication, not cancer treatment. However it is mostly given to people in later stages of cancer, hence the association

In a mission to turn ovens off before they catch fire.

A minor quibble: If Broadside is still active at the time of the eBay purchase in the game's universe, then they absolutely would have outbid anyone else to acquire the copy and keep it out of the public. So the whole release we play coming from an eBay sale is actually one of the least plausible things about the story, lol. But as it's just a McGuffin, it doesn't detract from the rest of the experience or story.

Nah, it was Bucky who did the killings. Mike got that part a bit wrong. The starlings are not people in suits, but rather mutants created from the tissues of dead bodies.
I'm starting to notice a trend in indie games recently where the game revolves around a cursed game. I can't be the only one who sees this, right? Between this, Andy's Apple Farm, and Mr. Tomatos, it's getting pretty hard to ignore.

Really good theory video! It’s a bit shocking to me that the concept of human test experiments to revive people or things is becoming a common thing in horror games.

Broadside wanted to create living mascots for a theme park just like Joey Drew Studios wanted to bring their cartoon characters to life for a theme park.
I know it’s not super practical, but I’d love it if games like this got official releases for the consoles they are emulating. Like, imagine holding a “real” Shipwrecked cart and popping it in your old N64.

Eh, I gotta disagree with you there. This game's mascot experimentation was planned from the very start, to create a strange mixture between Resident Evil and FNAF. All of the murders, actually came after the experimentation was thought up. I still appreciate the criticism though, we'll make sure to make the game feel like the experimentation feel less like a last minute addition

I think you should check out something squeaks made called “broadside film fest” where a bunch of analog horror creators work is shown, but also in the fest there is a now privated broadside beach 1

However they own copyright to their material and thus can decide if they want anyone using it or not..it's not copyright free material for the public, it's things they specifically own the rights to and you can't go around using stuff without asking unless you follow certain rules to avoid breaking copyright.
They HAVE to either make a sequel or add more content sometime! This game is amazing! 🤩 It has so much potential. People gotta spread the word about this game! I think this particular Story Explained episode was unique in that instead of the story revolving around the game itself it revolves around its development process.

Are we meant to have sympathy for Connor? Cause I really don't have any. He recorded the murders of 3 different people but just sat on the footage for 7 years & only had it released cause he got fired? He is just as terrible as the company that fired him.

I think this particular Story Explained episode was unique in that instead of the story revolving around the game itself it revolves around its development process.

Are we meant to have sympathy for Connor? Cause I really don't have any. He recorded the murders of 3 different people but just sat on the footage for 7 years & only had it released cause he got fired? He is just as terrible as the company that fired him.
