@@richardtrey5358 Why don't you read about the turn of the century hall of famer who injected monkey testosterone in himself. You don't think Mantle and Mays admitting to amphetamine use during games deserves an asterisk? What about that admitted cheater Whitey Ford doctoring the ball. And the Niekro's? You think Joe was the only one cheating? The Hall of Fame and all these baseball writers are absolutely full of it. When McGwire gets in because he "admitted he did it" just remember I told you so. It also helps that he's the white....excuse me, right color. A guy who took part in a TEAM scandal at the end of his career, to me at least, doesn't mean shit. ALL teams and players do whatever they can to gain an edge, even if it means toeing that "cheating" line. As if the guy wasn't great before they stole signs.....and that guy who talked about steroids....not buying it. Carlos was never buff. I say let Bonds, Ramirez, Clemens and the rest of those guys in - especially when you already have cheaters in the HOF. They're great, steroids or not. anyone who's played pro or semi-pro ball knows that steroids don't make you a better hitter or fielder. Just let everyone take them and even the playing field out.
one of the most talented players to play the game no question. Everything looked easy for him; a true 5 tool talent. Had some great years with the Mets!!
I was gonna complain about the lack of defensive clips, but then I remembered that he made every play so routine, plays that would've been webgems for most guys. Never saw anyone take better routes to the ball than this guy. Loved being able to watch in his prime with the Mets. Probably my favorite player. I imitated is hitting approach and his swing, imitated the way he played the center field. Definitely made me a much better player doing that. Such a playoff beast. Wish he would've had more chances with the Mets.
Andre Mangano Based on playoffs, I would say yes, even though he's never won a world series. Based on fielding yes. I would put him in the top 5 defensive CFers of all time. Based on hitting...ehh, I don't think a .280 hitter is really a HOF standard. Based on RBI and Homerun numbers, yes. Based on his baserunning ability and how he hardly ever got caught stealing, and that he is one of only eight members of the 300/300 club, yes. And if he can get 18 more homers (probably not) and become only the 4th 400/300 club member, then definitely yes. Along with 8 ASG appearances, so that's an add on. So it would appear that his "pros" to get into the HOF definitely outweigh the not eye catching, but I'm not sure voting will go that way when it's his time, but who knows.
Andre Mangano I mean, I'd rather him be on the Yankees currently, hahah. And if that's a thing, I couldn't really blame him with how the fans in Flushing just talk trash about him.
He would always hit well in wrigley field when he was with the Astros his first go round. Every time he would go to the plate it has a hard hit ball. Amazing.
MLBHighlights2012 and yet this is why the royals drafted him and had him for most of his MLB career he did great for us in those days in the Kansas City Royals days we had him thanks for showing some royals highlights can u perhaps make a Mike Sweeney highlights plz?
He was one of a kind in his prime. You notice how level his swing was from both sides . His glove was amazing in center field. He had one of the best arms out there too. He did what today's players can't seem to do, hit for average, for power, catch and throw, and run at an elite level . He was the definition of a 5 tool player. Today's players only focus on 1 tool hitting homeruns.
Everybody has already said it best, but it seems like he was just running at 85% and made everything look easy, like he was cruising through it all. He's kind of like the Allen Iverson the baseball in that he played for a team that wasn't all that good but he did the best with what he was given and did it so cooly and skillfully.
One of the greatest all around players in baseball history and perhaps a bit underrated. All time, he's #46 in home runs, #61 in hits, #41 in rbi's, #53 in runs scored, Tied for #156 in steals and number #69 in position player WAR. Oh--and #15 in OF putouts. High rankings in so many categories is extremely rare and indicative of a remarkable all around talent.
I couldn't agree more he really deserved getting a ring. I remembered watching him with Astros when the "Killer B's" was the thing he stunned everyone on his first game with the Astros and the rest was a history..
Because they were losing, Beltran is at the point where he wants to win to end his career. You wonder how good he could of been if he didn't injure is knee.
My main memory of him is the one where he just stands there and watches that called strike 3 against the Cardinals in that NLCS...Dammit man!!! At least take a swing at it!!! I'd have more respect for him if he would've swung and missed!!!
John Parks Yeah, he totally obliterated the opposition in 2006, dominated in the playoffs, and all you think about is the last at bat, where Adam Wainwright decided to throw probably still the nastiest curveball in his career. No one would have the mind to swing at that, let alone hit it. What about Cliff Floyd striking out right before him with one out? Why does no one remember that?
Mets fans shit on him when all he did was win them game after game. Seriously you've never heard such hatred towards a player before. That's why my favorite Beltran moment is when he shut up 43,000 bitter Mets fans and smoked a 100mph Syndergaard fastball into the upper deck of shittyfield. 5-0 Yanks.
I love Beltran's left handed swing. Pure 🔥
Loved him with the cards, such a great player.
I wish people wouldn't put music, I like to hear the nature sound
Future Hall of famer.
For sure
This didn't age well. Steroids users don't make it to the Hall of Fame
Not anymore lol
Maybe not anymore. He's a borderline hall of Famer now

Thanks for the Great Vid my favorite player of all-time, one of the best that ever did it and hopefully future HOF.
Welcome home Carlos! LFGM!!
Yeah about that lol
one of the most talented players to play the game no question. Everything looked easy for him; a true 5 tool talent. Had some great years with the Mets!!
Because of one pitch? That's stupid
@evensteven1950 a perfect pitch he can't do anything

i dont know if he is hof material or not, is he?
Andre Mangano

It stings seeing beltran in a yankees uniform and also knowing he'd rather be on the yankees than the mets
Andre Mangano
I mean, I'd rather him be on the Yankees currently, hahah. And if that's a thing, I couldn't really blame him with how the fans in Flushing just talk trash about him.
nah id rather be on the mets
Best switch hitter of all time
Kevin Herrera mantle?
Kevin Herrera chipper Jones?
Berkman ?
Chipper Jones is definitely better
And Pete Rose plus Rickey Henderson (he was a switch hitter right?)
He was a great Cardinal. Enjoyed him in the Birds on the Bat.
Underrated
Bang Bang! That’s the best highlight
My favorite Met all time!! Switch hitter, dangerous both side of the plate!
Great player on the Mets one of the best defensive center fielders I've seen and great power hitter
He would always hit well in wrigley field when he was with the Astros his first go round. Every time he would go to the plate it has a hard hit ball. Amazing.
Now we know why
Every team he joins he's clutch for em
Fave player growing up a Mets fan
One of my favorite Mets of all time
Here after he announced his retirement, couldn't have ended his career any better. A World Series champion, Hall of Famer on the way!
Great video! I can tell it took a long time to make this!
One of the best switch hitters 🤛🏽🤛🏽🤛🏽🤛🏽🤛🏽🤛🏽🤛🏽
MLBHighlights2012 and yet this is why the royals drafted him and had him for most of his MLB career he did great for us in those days in the Kansas City Royals days we had him thanks for showing some royals highlights can u perhaps make a Mike Sweeney highlights plz?
I loved him as a Met. Solid Yankee too
He was one of a kind in his prime. You notice how level his swing was from both sides . His glove was amazing in center field. He had one of the best arms out there too. He was badass in the 2004 playoffs with the Astros.
Now a World Series Champion!
Absolutely, a good hitter
beltran was and is still a very great player i thought the mets were gonna keep him till he retired but i guess not!...
King of the two-run dinger!
He's a complete player he can do it all
Don't call yourself a baseball fan if you're not a fan of Carlos Beltran.
Thanks!
I see they left out his at bat against Adam Wainwright in the 9th. inning of game 7 of the NLCS. Why is that?
Do one for Daryl Strawberry
Everybody has already said it best, but it seems like he was just running at 85% and made everything look easy, like he was cruising through it all. I loved watching him play before he was shipped to San Francisco. I'm a Yankees fan but I grew up as a Mets fan and still am one
He was a pretty good fit with the cardinals, Beltran was a great player and was in a great Organization.
Hardeep Thind He's one of my favorite former cardinal...
My new manager
One of my favorite players of all time, now forever tainted. What a shame.
Luckily he went back in Astros and get his ring!!! Congrats Carlos and Astros!!
Xin Gaming Brought tears to my eyes to see him with the world series trophy. He is one of the greatest Mets of all time.
I couldn't agree more he really deserved getting a ring. I remembered watching him with Astros when the "Killer B's" was the thing he stunned everyone on his first game with the Astros and the rest was a history..
Next Mets retired number
Nah brother, that will be #5.
Uggghhhh, Beltran we could've not gotten swept in 2005 if you stayed with us!
BlitzTaifun / DragonScales he's back though
He's on the Rangers m8
BlitzTaifun / DragonScales no look at the news we just got him
BlitzTaifun / DragonScales Astros
BlitzTaifun / DragonScales Now the Astros and Beltran got that ring!!
Has Beltran retired? I always hate seeing this guy play against the Braves. He kills ATL pitching.
nope still going strong
Now he’s retired in 2018
Too bad his career will now always be remembered for being the leader of the Astro's cheating scandal.
NO!!
Can anyone tell me the name of the 1th music please?
I always forgot how much speed he had
🔥🇵🇷⚾️🇵🇷⚾️🇵🇷🔥
Do one for Jorge Posada
And one for David Ortiz
Also, one for Carlos Lee
oh mh oh my !! look at 5 years ago top comment and look at it now.......
Why did the Mets ever let him go? They were a much better team with him than they have been without him
Well they did get Zach Wheeler out of the trade so I think it worked out well.
Because they were losing, Beltran is at the point where he wants to win to end his career. You wonder how good he could of been if he didn't injure is knee.
Beltran15x Oh shit. I just notice the irony of my name. hahaha. Yea he's my favorite.
What is the name of the first song?
30 Seconds of Mars-King and Queens
at 4:18, gary cohen said it was a two run shot yea right
There were no runners on base. I was confused too, so I went back and watched it again.
Nice
this guy only played 1 month the whole year with the mets. now he play every single day with the Yankees. with mets he was always insure
Huh?
Lets go
My main memory of him is the one where he just stands there and watches that called strike 3 against the Cardinals in that NLCS...Dammit man!!! At least take a swing at it!!! I'd have more respect for him if he would've swung and missed!!!

As stated, I stand by my comment. Lasting image on a season that could have ended in a championship. You can think what you want, I could care less.
John Parks
Maybe the other 24 guys should've tried to score more than 1 run
Without Beltran we wouldn't have made it as far as we did in 06
Want to be remembered for ever? Make 1 mistake. Want to be forgotten for ever? Do a bunch of great things.
5-0 Yanks.

He was great if you were up 8 or down 8. If it was tied, he was pretty useless.
