Great demo, am about to get a used one, however am wondering about the "Guided Component Testing" function, does it require an active subscription? Assuming am gonna buy 17.4 verus without intention of upgrading... Thanks again
Hi Pedro. Do u like the pico scope or the Verus ? i have the Vantage pro & i like it. But i want to upgrade to 4 channel. i still like the Snap on ..Let me know. Thanks
Thanks for reaching out, Vicken. Every tool has it's pro's and cons. I personally use both! Well, actually 3! I have a verus edge that I typically grab when I need multiple channels but want to stay portable. IE: a test drive or out in the parking lot. If I am in bay, and deep into diag, I'll roll my Picoscope Cart with leads built into a boom. Using a PicoScope requires some setup however that can quickly be solved by having it setup and ready to to in a cart setup. If I only need one channel and want to scope a circuit real quick, I'll grab my Uscope. The Uscope is extremely powerful and super portable. Each tool has its benefits and downfalls. My advice would be that if you already have a nice portable tool (the vantage pro) and looking to expand, I would invest in a picoscope 4425. This will fit your needs for more channels while providing one of the most powerful and user friendly labscopes on the market.
Thanks Pedro. Do you know if there is a way to use scope and bi directional controls simultaneously without using the guided component test feature? Not every component on every vehicle is available on guided component test and sometimes it would be nice to just select graphing meter or scope, minimise the window and then use bi directional controls?
Breaghasdad if you use the guided component test for any one of those tests and pull up the lab scope, the lab scope can be set up to scope any component that you would like. You can adjust your time base and your voltage scale Etc as needed to adjust to the component that you're testing. Once you have that setup you then can go back into scan data and actuate the component you wish while viewing your lab scope.
Breaghasdad when I, (Brian Culotta) use this function, I am not particularly concerned with which component I choose in the guided component tests. I basically go into guided component test, choose a random component, and adjust my scope as needed. The only difference is, by going into guided component test, you gain the option of isolating the scope window from the diagnostic Suite which allows you to then go back into scan data and actuate a device or view scan data
I am disappointed in this $10,500 tool and the $2,000 a year update charges. It can't do many things cheaper tools we have can do. Although it is decent all around, it misses on far too many marks for it's price at double or triple the other brands. My next scan tool will not be from Snap On.
Jim Myers where the hell are you paying 2k for updates? Do you even have this scanner? The updates are same price as Autel most cases $900 when on sale. Get out of here with your miss information. Love to know what it can’t do. Guarantee yoir scsnner doesn’t have a scope built in either
Great video. Thanks for making it. It filled in many holes I have in my ability to properly and fully use my verus edge.
Great job pedro! Fantastic information.
Awesome video Pedro
Gracias Bro!
Great video, thanks for putting this together
Joe p We appreciate that Thanks Joe.
Thanks Pedro, Sandy
Great information as always!
