When I was a much younger American, I heard this song on my Walkman radio/cassette player while sitting in Heathrow in August, 1991. Loved it. Didn't know who sang it, but loved it so much I remembered the line "Cold Cold Heart" for about 20 years and then when UA-cam came along, I put that line into the search field and once again found this song. We live in an amazing time. : )
Similar sorry happened to me on flight from the UK to Orlando Florida 1998 although it was a different song. All I could remember was the line, I've got a feeling somebody's watching me.. Years later and Internet well developed I found out the band was Rockwell featuring Michael Jackson. I feel where your coming from when you say, we live in an amazing time.
Yes. I'm so happy that today we have access to all music, movies, and any kind of art, of any place and any era, and we can get it whenever we want. It's amazing
It didn't leave me for 33 long years but eventually it got mixed up with other songs and performers until I was utterly convinced it was Phil Collins FFS 🙄😡🤦 finally found it in June. Had been looking in the wrong place all that time lol
@@dominewimbury2039I know what you mean I got it mixed up with Elton John song cold heart obviously it wasn't the same song until I was making something to eat one day and a bit of a song came to me and then obviously UA-cam it
I remember hearing this song on the radio and how went to the shop right away to get the album. You had to do that at that time. Loved my music shop. I wish I could go back there just one more time.
I happened to be in the U.K (from the U.S) in the summer of 1991 when this album came out. As soon as I could I ran to HMV and bought it on cassette. Then walked around London listening on my Walkman. 😊
Been following him since the Ultravox days, remember dancing to “ All Stood Still” @ The Ritz in NYC, knowing at the time Midge would someday go on to a solo career, Band Aid gave him a spot light that a lot of Americans had no idea who he was, Unrated artist for sure Big warm place in my heart for him and his music that was part of my youth
Thank you very much 'Keef' for sharing this video! In the early 1990's I dared to become a radio-DJ - No experience, just a love for well crafted, beautiful music. During the 9 years that followed, this piece of vinyl met the turntable many times, and it warms and fills this cold heart with heaps of joy and happiness, just like the first time I put it on. Thank you Midge, for creating so many wonderful songs that move and fill hearts across the globe.
Don't miss Midge Ure performing 'Vienna' by Ultravox in full, Visage classics and other greatest hits. 2019 uk . Will be Brill Night Out. Check out Breath , Best Album ever by Midge Ure .. This always makes me Smile , when my son was 2 yrs old used to dance around the sofa , over and over again , he loved it . he is 26 now ..
seen this several timeS since i was a kid.....now using this as a proof of skill with my volunteer drama stuff :( thanks midge ! i sang this with a dance :d everytime i hear this song i remmber how happy i am to be a part of the midgeure group :D
This video is so gorgeous 💕 Can anyone stand still while listening to this darn cool tune? "Pure" is definitely my all-time fave album, not only of Midge Ure but in general 👌😃
Love Midge Ure, love Ultravox. Very underrated and modest musician. First heard this tune in September 1991, going into Second Year at The itsTech back home. It's ok, nothing fantastic about it. But it's still better than the shot that passes as music today. Nowhere near as good as his Ultravox work though of his 1985 hit, If I was.
More of an Ultravox fan but some of Midges solo stuff is quite palatable. This is one of his better efforts, in fact the whole Pure album is an understated masterpiece. I love the vide as well
When I was a boy The voice of an angel came to me It said your future is there inside your cold Cold heart But I was just a boy And a boy sees what he wants to see And I saw nothing to share inside this cold cold heart Somebody should have told me That when you're born to this world Your life starts slipping away Come stand beside me Come gather round me Come stand beside me, come gather round me An' heat this cold cold heart With love inside me With arms around me With love inside me, with arms around me We'll heat this cold cold heart Oh, when I became a man The voice of a devil said to me It said forever you'll live inside your cold cold heart But I'm a better man A wiser man who wants to be free To have someone to care about this cold cold heart Somebody should have loved me They should have taken me on Instead of taking away Come stand beside me Come gather round me Come stand beside me, come gather round me An' heat this cold cold heart With love inside me With arms around me With love inside me, with arms around me We'll heat this cold cold heart
For years I was convinced this was Phil Collins FFS! 🙄🤣 I only remembered the piano jingle and come stand beside me! Was looking in the wrong place all this time!
I remember this song from a shopping centre called Springhill in Bangor ulster yrs ago I was 6 with my mum who died 20yrs ago she was singing along to it brill memories ☺

Brilliant song from a musical genius.

My favorite Midge Ure song ............... a hug from Perú 📢🎵👍
Midge ist ein großartiger Sänger und Komponist. Solo wie auch bei Visage und Ultravox. Ein Könner halt.
😊😊Almost 33 years old and still sounds a great song.😂😂
Took me ages to find this. I had to hum some beats into Google dozens of times before this popped us. All I knew ot must have been from 1991.
Love this song and video and Midge. Fantastic singer. Great guy.

Saw Midge perform an acoustic set last night and was so excited that he played this song. Thank you for continuing to tour. Cool ass drum solo, too.
Lord...that smile!
I go weak in the knees every time I look at him
He is a really handsome and charismatic man
Bloody love him
just found this after it played on a underground 80's music channel. where has this song been? It makes me smile!

When I was a boy
The voice of an angel came to me
It said your future is there inside your cold
Cold heart
But I was just a boy
And a boy sees what he wants to see
And I saw nothing to share inside this cold cold heart
Somebody should have told me
That when you're born to this world
Your life starts slipping away
Come stand beside me
Come gather round me
Come stand beside me, come gather round me
An' heat this cold cold heart
With love inside me
With arms around me
With love inside me, with arms around me
We'll heat this cold cold heart
Oh, when I became a man
The voice of a devil said to me
It said forever you'll live inside your cold cold heart
But I'm a better man
A wiser man who wants to be free
To have someone to care about this cold cold heart
Somebody should have loved me
They should have taken me on
Instead of taking away
Come stand beside me
Come gather round me
Come stand beside me, come gather round me
An' heat this cold cold heart
With love inside me
With arms around me
With love inside me, with arms around me
We'll heat this cold cold heart
Very good Music - Yes, Midges best Solo Song
I'm more the 70s guy - not so fond of the 80s & 90s - but this is f*****g great!
That keyboard is so catchy and so is this song!

Midge, magic 🏴🎅🎅🎅👍
wonderful!!!!!!
It has an 80s sound to it even though released in the early 90s. Times were changing in the music scene but poor Midge was left behind.
First I was at Rooby house when this was a top chart!
This is Music!
Excellent
Love it
I remember hearing this song in 1991 i was 10
I'm sure that the old...ish lady at 2.29 is the same one as in the Alphaville Forever Young video.
Bold boy!
Looked this up after watching Only Fools and Horses
@Ian Turner Miami Twice part one when Rodney and Del are in the cafe

U have great taste karen.
Same! I had to hum the tune into Google. Took me years to find it.

Edward Norton? That's you?!?

Was the lovely lady his wife? And the little girl is that his daughter?
No to both questions. He is married to actress Sheridan Forbes and has four daughters none of which are the little girl in question.
related to ultravox
8cho??
Midge jest lepszy niż wszystkie Justiny razem wzięte!!
Mickey Wallace thought I was an ejit when this was a top chart!
❤
I like Midge solo, but looooooove ULTRAVOX
I was 7 back in 1991
