I just finished my Training in Conley and am about to go out with my trainor. Had a wonderful experience there and learned a lot. Excited to get on the road.
@@olinjtaylor Thank you. I had a bit of a journey getting there. Actially went to another school and almost took my test there. KLLM in Texas. Buyt they were total A Holes. Lol. I quit there and found ROEHL. So glad I did. Leanre dso much more and more Efficeant. ED was my Trainor.
I test Thursday, February 18th. You learn a lot, do what they teach you and you will be fine. Bob, is my instructor and have worked with Obie as well. Great instructors!
Congratulations! The nerves will get better. They'll be there up until you take your exam. It's worth it though and they'll teach you everything you need to know to build up your confidence!
I'm thinking about it... if I do, I'll use you as a referral. I live in Massachusetts so it may not pan out as I don't think that Roehl has anything within 500 miles. The other thing is, I'm an old guy, 69, but still have wanderlust and need for new adventure.
I've just start the recruitment process and shouldbe going to Georgia location too, I think.(Im in North Florida) and the recent emplyoment history is what's gotta me wooried too..being im also "self employed" and currently on SS disabilty since 2014'-15. Have proof of disability income, but no "taxable" self employment documents.(Im a ranch hand so paid in cash and housing) Anyore info/advise you can give me would greatly appreciated???
I have a 2 year job gap just been doing little side jobs for people. Think they’d take someone with that large of a gap? No criminal history or anything.
@@CaptivateCat I'd say around 10-15% in Conley. I stayed at the Gary Indiana terminal several times over the past three weeks, there were a lot of female drivers staying there as well...around 30-40%.
TheBishopTaylor when I asked Chas, she didn’t really answer it for me. But I’m from Connecticut, closest drop yard is in Mass. which is 70 miles from my home. I have no room for a tractor and trailer. Does Roehl let you either bobtail home and or leave the truck at a drop yard (it’s not really a terminal)
It has cooled off now, the worst of the heat is over now. Check the weather for when you plan to go just to be safe...you never know with Georgia, hahaha.
TheBishopTaylor Heck I never been to the south I am originally from California born and raised but I moved to PA a year ago. Anyways thanks for answering my questions.
I am working on becoming an actress too! Work in the acting field is kinda scarce right now so I am doing the same thing you’re doing and going into trucking for the time being. Is trucking a female friendly business?
There’s a lot of female truckers out there. Best advice I can give is to research the carriers you’re interested in. Don’t sign a contract without looking over it thoroughly. Some companies only offer 2 year contracts where they’ll run you ragged for two years for obvious reasons. Other companies offer the higher mileage (200k) contracts where you’re debts are paid in full after a certain amount of miles. Some carriers offer lower mileage contracts (75k) if you already have a CDL from a trucking school and they’ll pay that school loan off for you. Get your CDL from a school that works with the carrier that offers the lowest mileage contract so they’ll cover your expenses and you’re no longer obligated to stay after 75,000 miles or 8-10 months tops. Play it safe when it comes to weather conditions, be aware of your surroundings, be courteous at the fuel isle and don’t let anyone rush you while backing in, docking, maneuvering etc. There’s a lot of successful ladies out there and you can find them on UA-cam, FB.

Very helpful to watch for someone seeking out Roehl's training program! Thanks for the info👍
Best video explaining i seen so far

69, nice. i support u
I'm 66 and in maine going to give it a try
Do they teach you on a manual truck? I know their fleet is all automatic but, I'm wondering if you'll end up with a restriction on your cdl. Thanks!
trained on auto
The restaurant across from the terminal called First Choice Cafe?
That's it!
Yes
Was the CDL classes done in an older manual truck or the newer automatics?
They used to do manual but it’s all automatic now
I start my classes the 18th in Gary Indiana
Nice! Gary is a busy terminal
I take the test tomorrow. Obie Rodger ed paul bob albert Doug are all cool people
Good luck! You'll do great!
I start my training with Roehl May 10th, can you explain why there is a two week delay with the pay?
Congrats! It's so you won't go without pay while on the road with your trainer...because there's going to be a week delay in getting a trainer

Do they room female's together with males?
Nope. You'll probably get your own room.
