We’re taking you to Mays Landing, New Jersey for a look inside interior designer Solveig Tank’s beautiful lakeside home. Solveig first laid eyes on the 1900’s captain’s cottage 30 years ago…and while the space desperately needed updates, Solveig knew there was no other place she would rather call home. The gut-renovation was a labor of love for Solveig, who rediscovered herself in the process. The interiors now shine brightly with a soft, neutral color palette that highlights the cottage’s charming original details. Enjoy!

What a great story of how the Lord brought this home to her and how she knew it would 'just in case' be her home one day. Thankfully her husband was a good man and on board with her dream. The home is lovely and designed with every beat of her heart. I loved this video/home

I've watched lots of home worthy episodes, but this one is over the top! From the time I started watching this episode " soulful cottage" I knew this lady was not only connected to the house but to God! I simply loved her honesty and vulnerability to be open to share her heart with viewers. God bless you my sister, you have inspired me to pray more and to trust God in all things. God knows our hearts desire and exactly what we need and when we need it. God hears and answers prayers!

This s the best Homeworthy tour I’ve watched. Not only is the house beautiful, but the stories from the homeowner are wonderful. She is so authentic, down to earth and in love with her home. I understand her story about connecting with the house completely. I wish her, her husband and family continued happiness there.
Solveig, I wanted to leave a comment here, to let you know how much I loved this episode. I, too, felt like God led me to my home. I remember, it had all the things I wanted in a house, but it was overall, more than I thought I would ever have. It had been recently renovated, so there was no work to do here. Plus things had been added that no other home had in the area, including a gorgeous covered porch in the back which was essential for sitting outside.There was a very good spirit in this place, and I remembered thinking of the phrase, I have many mansions and I go to prepare a place for you. I felt this home was prepared for us. Another person was going to purchase the home, but his financing fell through because he didnt pay his car loan on time. It really felt like a gift. While I was watching this episode, I was reminded of Gods gift to me. The first time I watched I fast forwarded it, but God told me to go back and watch what I missed. I really cried when I heard you describe your story. I have been having some struggles and not really realizing how sad I was feeling. God told me I have wonderful blessings for you ahead. I was overwhelmed. Thank you for being one of his willing hands to bring good things to others. I love the hebrew over the door in your home. You are a lovely person.

I think you are a great furniture designer! I have a curly willow …haha…my mother told me to take a sprig of hers and put it in water. I did…in a bucket outside and there it sat two years, forgotten. Then I planted it and it grew faster than a human baby and has not stopped!

I have watched every single HW episode but this one felt different. I don’t remember any particular wow item but the soul of this home came through in the beautiful way it was described by the homeowner. It was an absolute joy to tour this home with her. I wish that we all find this level of gratitude and sense of belonging in the place we call home.

I enjoyed seeing the juxtaposition between the natural elements and the modern elements. Either one on their own can become predictable in interior design, but to mix the two made it feel fresh and individual. Well done!

This is a really, beautiful home and they did a great job restoring it! She was without a doubt meant to be the new caretaker of this classic cottage and God planned all for her. I had a similar experience as I lived away from my home in CT for 32 years and dreamed of going back. We looked at 36 homes and I could not find what I wanted. When we stepped into the home we live in at this time, I knew it was meant. I felt the soul of the home and knew it was to be our’s. It still has projects to do but we feel blessed to be here. The appt. to view this home was a last minute decision as we were leaving back to NY the next day and it had just come on the market. I wish them many years of peace and blessings in their home!❤😊
This house is white done right. She's got just the right amount of touches of colour and textures that ties everything together, while keeping things interesting, and very cozy looking. Love this space. Absolutely beautiful!

She has poured her heart into it, with her husband’s help, and it shows. Loved hearing all the tales. When she was talking about craning in a mattress, I thought, if there is a next time, get a shrink wrapped bed in a box. The box will fit right up the stairs. I have three of them and I will never go back to the legacy mattress types ever again. They are more comfortable at less than half the price. They are dense foam with a memory foam top of varying thickness depending on your preference.

@@rickgonzalez1218 No, I don’t find them to be hot and I live in Hawaii. The best thing is you never have any pressure points, or permanent low spots in your mattress. To me, it seems like it is the sheets that make the difference in sleeping temp. I use natural fiber ones like linen, cotton and bamboo.

Usually I need a lot more color, but I really like her home. She made up for the lack of color with great use of textures. And I know what she means about "connecting" to a place on a spiritual level. I too have walked into a place that said to my soul, "You're home."🥰 And I love her testimony!

If you know you know. And she knew this was her home. This happened to me when we downsized to a smaller home. I just knew it was meant to be before I got out of the car. How amazing the world works. It was a journey. And I love it ❤
