Epic day of spearfishing in Cape Town, South Africa.
Dassen Island in Cape Town, South Africa is known for its rich amounts of anchovies and pilchards. This creates a feeding ground for Cape Town Snoek and the Cape Yellowtail.
Just north of Cape Town, it is easily accessible and about an hour's drive from the city. This was my first time diving Dassen Island and this beautiful inshore island produced the goods. We bagged a total of five Yellowtail, one Cape Snoek and 3 Cape bream.
Cape Town has some world-class spearfishing. Boasting some great pelagic fish. The Cape Yellowtail, Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi Mahi. For me the most prized is the Cape Yellowtail.
