The Lexington in Corpus Christi is a WWII carrier. Not the original (CV-2) one that sank at Coral Sea, obviously. But it's the CV-16, launched in 1942. The reason you see jets on it is that it was refitted in the early 50's to handle jets.
The USS Lexington (CV-16) in Corpus Christi is a museum. It does have jets on its deck (much like the USS Intrepid museum in NYC, which is a must see). The Original USS LExington (CV-2) was lost during the battle of the Coral Sea early in WWII (and was recently found again in 2018). The Second Lexington was supposed to be named "USS Cabot" but was renamed in honor of "Lady Lex" (CV-2) while under construction. CV-16 Served the USN as a carrier until around 1962 when she was redesignated CVS-16 and made a training carrier in the gulf of Mexico to train new naval aviators. she was decomissioned in 1976. Think she may have been the last Essex class carrier in the Navy. a bit of history. :)
13:16-Here in Mexico we call them in Spanish "laterales" or "lateral". In English could be something like "lateral" without the word "road" if that makes sense.

Definitely learned about frac tanks. I'm just imagining someone's daughter being there on a 'take your daughter to work' day and watching them have to lift up the flat tank to drain the innards out and then she says, "what if it was already lifted up?" and they all cheer her like in the Old El Paso ad. I managed to finish Cruising Texas already since with 29 cities and the desire to explore the state it didn't take long to rack up 15. The east parts of Texas really feels like our first eastern state, adding a whole new biome to the map, so that's been pretty fun to explore.
Ha! Yes, at some point someone had to have the idea of tilting the tank back like that, and that would totally make sense for it to be someone coming from the situation from an unrelated angle. I wonder, though, if they strike bottom more frequently? The bottom of the tank looks really close to the ground. And I totally agree on the eastern part of Texas feeling "east". I felt that even with the little bit I've been in the state so far. :)
Thanks for sharing the Christmas tree story and mentioning me on the show. Made my holiday :). Although you did call it Fort Knox once. If I had a family connection to Fort Knox I''d be set up pretty well :D.
Haha! Did I really say Fort Knox? That's pretty funny. I think I shot this after midnight. I generally have a "no recording after 10pm" guideline, exactly for reasons like that. ~ And happy to mention the Christmas tree, that's such a cool story! :)
Zilla I am a trucker and when you are driving and you have to pee you find a rest stop or truck stop but if none are in sight just pull on the shoulder go to the passenger side of the truck between the truck and trailer and relieve yourself or just pee in a bottle you do what you have to do
One thing about the garage thing you were talking about there is an achievement to upgrade one of your garages all the way and I was noticing in one of your previous episodes that your peterbilt is about the same color as your box trailer maybe do some episodes with them hooked together and you can really rack up the money with that
In the Philippines, roads like that are called service roads. Cotton harvesters are fairly tall machines, and the train on the second trip (where you got the red light violation) looks a shortened Amtrak train (probably the Southwest Chief). That tank delivery is misranked; it should be a 300, with that difficult approach angle.
I'm struck by the different names for the roads. It'd be interesting to map it out for the world. And yeah, that parking. I think I took it way too casually too. I needed my gameface on. :)
Trucker....best job in the world...when I leave my stops on my route I'm so glad I'm not stuck in those horrible factory or fabricator jobs. My friends that work there tell me how horrible their jobs are . We make a little more money per hour than a factory worker but werk 50% longer so it seems we make waay more money than they do. Also as a true trucker 'Zilla you need your left foot (sans shoe) up on the dash (all new trucks are automatic) and you need your X--M Satillite tuned to Road Dawg Trucking channel 147.
Most of the Uk calls those roads on the side of the highway Parallel or slip roads mainly used for farmers or emergency cars set back from the main road a bit,
It does seem like the names are regional, for sure, and that's what I think is the most common term for them here in Minnesota too. Texas Trivia should be later this week, I think. :)
Semi-truck Cannonball baby! :) Would be nice to have the whole country, when you can explore at a nic epace. I do think that some states will get put together. with other state, like a lot of those New England states. Maybe some of the plain sates (the Dakotas), and so on.
Yea those turn arounds under each intersection under the freeways are a texas thing the only other place I really come across them is in Florida. In texas cities the sides of freeway service roads are lined with businesses so people making those uturns happen all day long.... meanwhile I'm in denver Colorado right now and there is no service roads at all, there is just the freeway itself and when you exit you turn left or right. In texas there is a road that runs along the side of the freeway mostly the whole length
Isn't it interesting how different the roads can be. We have service roads in some places in Minnesota. But I've never seen roads go under freeways like that. :)
@@ZillaBlitz it sure is and sad to say I've been pulled over a couple times for not understanding how a road works in a different state lol. In houston on a section of i10 its the widest freeway in the world. Counting the lanes on the freeway, the 2 exit ramps, and the lanes of the service road is 26 total lanes which is freaking insane!
Makes sense, very cool. It's interesting that I hadn't come across one before this. I wonder if it's a new trailer option, or at least a more recent one.
There's a frac tank sitting at my work right now. I am a Chemical operator at Dow Chemical and the one sitting at my site right now is full of water contaminated with propylene oxide from a flushing of a line we have that goes under the river. I wish I could add pictures to my comment.
For the deliveries that you did that you couldn't post, did you go from Beaumont to Lufkin as the first delivery and Lufkin to Corpus Christi for the second delivery?
I don't think you're pulling forward enough at the red lights when stopping, so the game isn't registering you as having stopped. I think you need to gain the white line, come to a stop and then proceed to turn right on red. At least that's what I do, and I haven't had any problems with red light violation tickets that way.
It was super cool to have that comment in your video! Did you see the new thing about Oklahoma that they announced on the steam page? I was kind of skimming through your video so I don't know if you mentioned it in the video LOL
Yeah I think they should have worked more on the ability to make a right on red. I get a ticket almost every time so I just stop now. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Zilla, blessings on you and yours.
I'm glad to hear it's not just me with the right on red. I feel like it has to be so perfect to not get a ticket. If you don't fully stop within just the right distance of the stop line, and make a good follow up lane turn, you definitely get zinged. :)
Talking from my own experience and what I see. Short distance or drivers with only day cabs usually do short runs so they stop alot and have better access to bathrooms, unlike the long distance drivers with sleepers carry some kind of bathroom with them, most of male drivers have a bottle. It makes it convenient that way, so you do minimum stopping, all you have to do is pull of on the shoulder and take care of business. And a good or a driver with decency will probably dispose of that stuff, a dirtbag driver will leave it on the side of the road in a bottle or worse toss it out the window. Hence the name trucker bombs. So if you see bottles on the side of the road don’t touch them, its not iced tea or lemonade in that bottle. Those drivers are nasty and put shame on the industry over all.
@@ZillaBlitz A slip road is a road that comes on or off the motorway/dual carriageway. I thought the road you pointed out ran parallel to the main road?
I've been doing them as one track. Although I've considered doing two, but having one has worked and it's one step simpler. Until this time, though. :)
In Canada, or at least western Canada, we call those connecting roads "service roads".
Yes, that's another term we use. Good point! :)
