Since purchasing it, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.
It depends on the fan, her fan probably has the control buttons covered and since the motor is on the bottom it doesnt get wet, because she put it upside down so basically, its safe. Now, not all fans are like that so you have to check first.
You didn't take it apart there's no way to get at the parks that you cleaned without disassembling it. Also all the important controls are at the top and cannot get wet so you didn't show how you take them off so they wouldn't get wet. I also don't recommend cleaning any electric product with water you do not have to use water and on top of it you are not going to get everything off by spraying it with water not even with a high pressure water system. It is best to disassemble it brush all the dirt out vacuum it and if there's anything left behind use a soft brush to get at all the other debris not mentioning the oil that sticks to the blades that the water will not eliminate. Someone that follows your instructions is going to ruin their fan and have to buy a new one. Most stand-up fans allow you to with the fan part out of the machine after disassembling the correct way.
I did this with my fan before seeing this. Even got the motor wet without knowing but I let it dry for like 2 hours and it works fine. I think the key is to just make sure it dries before you plug it back in.

I’ve taken apart my fan the other day. Your taking a big chance spraying water through the inside. There are wires throughout whole tower from the top going down to the bottom where motor is! Be careful!!! Also it’s good to open it correctly so that you can spray the fan with WD40 on the bottom after you’re done cleaning it!

Alternative method that takes 10 seconds and that I use on all electronics. Electric leaf blower at low speed a couple feet away. I use the same method to clean Gaming PC's that cost thousands of dollars. With those make sure to elevate them on a table or something so no pebbles get blown into the electronic parts.
I was so excited to try this when I realized mine has an LED display on the top so i cant spray it with water. Turns out it wasnt an led display. Just a panel with lights and displays functions. I used her water spray technique. It's a miracle. Im ever so grateful 🙏
I have a trashpick cascade just like the one you have. It works fine and even has the remote! But it is as dusty as all out get out. I figured the previous owners did not want to take it apart to clean it, nor pay somebody else to do it. So they left it by the dumpster. I already vacuumed the slits on the outside of the machine. And I duct taped a straw on the end of a crevice tool to get inside to vacuum the squirrel cage. That helps, but will take a lot of time to get all the dust out, But using water to clean out the machine like you did? I’m not sure if 45 minutes of sun drying or even heat air drying is enough to get all the moisture out. Me, I would spend at least a couple hours heat drying it, and then let it sit inside(or out in the sun) for 24 hours before plugging it into a GFCI outlet, I have done that plenty of times with trashpicked appliances that I have found on rainy days over the last nine years. It is very important to get all of the moisture out of those delicate electronics, such as those that are found at the top of the machine, which you had upside down.
For all you techies crybabies seems like this woman does this every time she cleans her fan. Eventually all things fall apart with or without water, let her have her fun!
Omg I love you!! You saved the little bit of sanity I have left. Wish I saw your video before I took apart my first fan. Thank you so much, you're a genius! 😇👍
Stacey Alexis next time , even if you put it apart is not clean well enough .. before I tried washing that’s what I did and I wasn’t happy so I came up with the idea of washing it and it worked .. so mine I washed at least 3 times a year .
If you have air compressor its the way to go. Dont be lazy using the water hose that can ruin those motors and screws. A cheap tower fan just go ahead use the fire hydrant it will look brand new. 😂
Awesome way of cleaning the fan the only problem that you have to have concern with it’s electrical now what you should have added was a whole day of dry in the sun because you do not want any electrical opponents to be wet when plugging his fan back in but I agree by turning the fan over it’s not going to get the motor wet but however the way the fan was The electrical opponents to turn the fan on will get wet
Don’t get the top part wet where the buttons are, but I just got through cleaning mine and it looks absolutely brand new. Just a slight high pressure in the front and back and you should see all the dog hair that came out.
P B Yes , main reason why I tried cause those videos still didn’t give me a full clean fan , so I took a risk and did it like that and it work... Thank you
I like the idea of cleaning the tower fan with water, especially since I don't have an air compressor or a leaf blower, but I do have access to a hose at the community garden in the park across the street. It does seem risky to allow water to get into the electronics, so I think I will remove the top piece of our Seville Classics (Costco) fan. The electronics are attached to this top piece. The top piece can be separated from the fan by taking out two Phillips-head screws, although there will still be a wire joining the electronics to the fan. (I'll have to be careful that I don't put any stress on the wire at any time during the whole process of disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.) Once the top piece is off, I'll put a plastic bag around it and seal it around the wire, with tape I suppose. This should prevent any water from getting onto the electronics. Then I'll carefully stand the fan on its head with the plastic bag (containing the top piece with the electronics) lying on the ground close by, still connected to the fan by that short wire. Now the fan can be cleaned with the hose. If I'm careful not to splash water upwards, the motor should stay dry, and if I've done a good job of sealing the plastic bag, the electronics should stay dry. When I finish cleaning the fan, I'll give it enough time to dry so that no water will be there to drip onto the motor when I put the fan right side up and pop the top piece back on (after removing the plastic bag, of course). So to make a long story short, I propose to: 1. Remove the two screws that hold the top piece on. 2. Remove the top piece which has electronics attached. 3. Put it in a plastic bag. 4. Seal the bag with tape around the wire. 5. Stand the fan on its head, bag on the ground beside it. 6. Hose it clean. 7. Let it dry. 8. Put it right side up. 9. Take the bag off the top piece. 10. Put the top piece back on and secure it with the two screws.
The electronics are in the top, the motor was in the bottom of mine. And the cable runs through the base and is a little exposed where it goes into motor. Cable going up has shrink cable to protect it
Good tip! But I wish I should have paid extra attention to the end of her video or she should be honest saying that her method would kill the light and the setting function. I tried her way and now all the buttons on my fan are not working. Exactly same thing in her video, pay attention, when she turn it on, the lights of her fan are not on (ex: the power light) and I bet her fan can not oscillate or using the power button at all (that's why she has to use the remote control even though she standing right next to it). Take away is before you try this quick and easy method to clean your fan, make sure you have it set up the way you want permanently (ex: speed 2, oscilate yes) and then rinse water like her. The fan end up till working but the setting you had before now fixed and no longer be able to adjust nor use any buttons. My fan now is just plug in directly to turn on and plug out to turn off.
I will do an video soon , turn it on by pushing the actual bottom, either way it works so no sure what you are saying. If it doesn’t dry all the way , you might at the beginning the brooms give you trouble as some have mention , but once it dries in her own it goes back to normal. Next video coming soon... look not saying it will be perfect sometimes I believe depends how old is the fan. I did one super old and it work, but the remote no longer work , but the lady was happy that it was clean even if she had to turn on by hand.
ours didn't work after first day (there were some water at the bottom still) ... it didn't work. But next day, when it's finally dried up, it worked :)
tower fans pulled those dirt off the air which is like a "bonus" air filter "effect". manufacturers of such fans should make it easy to dismantle and clean and maybe enhance the "filter" effect with maybe metal fins and ionization
Maybe just leave it plugged in running while you dump a water hose on a electrical appliance next time 🤔. Don't do this use a shop vacuum or a leaf blower to blow the dust out. She trying to ruin your shit or get you electrocuted
I cleaned my tower fan the method you suggested. After cleaning when dried, I plugged in, fan was directed. electric penel gone, means no button is in function. Where are you located. I wish to you this fan free. " Little knowledge is dangerous" Bilal Qureshi Calgary, Canada
Eliana valencia yes don’t be afraid and try it ... it work in most of the fans including the ones that are round , just haven’t had the chance to do a video... but make sure it dries
She used 2 different fans. They are very similar, but if you zoom in to the fan in the beginning, you see large letters, like a logo on the front near the base. Zoom into the fan being plugged in, and there are no letters at all. Don’t go hosing down electrical appliances with water like she’s telling you to do- just remove the few screws and clean it…safely!
Jorge Besosa incorrect , but you don’t need to do it if you don’t want ... is all about yes or no . I am no forcing anyone. I done many already . All is about letting dry and it will work... or buy a new one ... life is full of choices
Black arrow , no they must be seal cause they function well after is dry... I also done other kinds the same way and the top works fine.. after drying .. Don’t ask me how but it did.
I haven’t done a video about it, but honestly I did it on mine and left it to dry and plug it and it work. I was going to throw away anyway so I said , well let’s just see if can be done .. I am not saying you should do it, but if you would like to get a clean one and the choice is to get rid of ... give it a try..
This is a straight up dangerous thing to do. Water and electricity like this DO NOT MIX SAFELY. Aren't people taught basic stuff like this anymore? Aside from safety concerns you'll likely ruin the fan. This lady means well but she's ignorant. Reminds me of back when electricity was first introduced, people were electrocuting themselves or burning down their homes on a regular basis because they'd do things like this.
It’s up to you , don’t do it if you don’t want to , no one is forcing anyone here , people are free to decoy to do it or not . It’s a personal choice, but honestly if you let it dry for at least 4 hours in a sunny day nothing will hapoen
pavy415 no worries , mine is not big either ... the first I did was outside my apartment that many other tenants started to do the same ... so you need very little space, but most definitely you need a hose.
Please be careful doing this. I know you mean very well and it’s awesome you are trying to save others time with this method, but in Hindsight it is REALLY bad for the fan. No matter if it’s a manual controlled or electronic controlled like in the video, the water and any of the components in the fan will rust and cause it to fail even quicker. If you can, take it apart. If you can’t, might as well throw away or donate and buy one you can take apart.

Me, I would spend at least a couple hours heat drying it, and then let it sit inside(or out in the sun) for 24 hours before plugging it into a GFCI outlet, I have done that plenty of times with trashpicked appliances that I have found on rainy days over the last nine years. It is very important to get all of the moisture out of those delicate electronics, such as those that are found at the top of the machine, which you had upside down.
thank you this worked on my lasko fan and saved me a lot of time from any of the other methods!
I am happy for you Sr.
Thank you so much sharing! It worked I cleaned my mom's fan💕
I did this and it worked. I am going to do it again 😊
Just take out the screws and vacuum. Mine is newer model had like 12 screws and i only put 4 corner screws back in for next time and its still sturdy.
Holy crap are you a wizard? Amazing tip, got my fan back to the way it was when I first got it!
Brilliant! Thank you for this video!
I love this lady!!! Wish u were my mother!!👍
For all you techies crybabies seems like this woman does this every time she cleans her fan. Eventually all things fall apart with or without water, let her have her fun!
Doesn't matter if water wet the buttons?
Your flowers are amazing by the way 🌻🌻🌻🪴🪴🪴🌳🌳🌿🌿🌾🌾⚘⚘🌷🌷🌸🌸💐💐
Omg I love you!! You saved the little bit of sanity I have left. Wish I saw your video before I took apart my first fan. Thank you so much, you're a genius! 😇👍
Thank you
@@zmhhdez7511 I Have a Smaller Version. I Wanna Try This BuT I Thought The Water Would Hurt The Electronics. DiD it HurT your Fan in Any Way?
Man I wish I would have seen this video 10 minutes ago. I just took apart my whole fan smh
@@glumGlumm people are stupid lmao.
Next time you go ahead and do it . It will definitely be cristal clean
My son did exactly what you said even though I told him not too. The fan doesn't work and he had it drying for 24 hours
mine broke too
Awesome way of cleaning the fan the only problem that you have to have concern with it’s electrical now what you should have added was a whole day of dry in the sun because you do not want any electrical opponents to be wet when plugging his fan back in but I agree by turning the fan over it’s not going to get the motor wet but however the way the fan was The electrical opponents to turn the fan on will get wet
I tried it and it worked so well I have to get a new fan! 😅
🤣 Don’t be afraid .... this is how it’s done !
Lol
🤣🤣🤣
Don’t get the top part wet where the buttons are, but I just got through cleaning mine and it looks absolutely brand new. Just a slight high pressure in the front and back and you should see all the dog hair that came out.
Air not water right?
The button on the top doesn't get ruined???
Taking it apart is so annoying that I might risk doing this ☺ thanks
Done so many ... it works and most importantly is super clean
Emma LoneDo it don’t be afraid , it works just make sure you leave it to dry for at least 30 mins each side .. and then wipe it out and you will see
Wow. Thank you so much for the tip
Wow, great tip! Other YT videos suggested taking apart everything, looked like a mess. This also looks the most hygienic way to clean as well.
P B Yes , main reason why I tried cause those videos still didn’t give me a full clean fan , so I took a risk and did it like that and it work... Thank you
Yeah you can clean it like this if you want your fan to break water isn't supposed to touch electric powered things
Now you got the electric panel wet so the functions are gonna explode or short out.
So to make a long story short, I propose to:
Goteeeemmm llls
Now only my remote wil work buttons won’t but it’s blowing a lot better!
Hahaha man. I did this I guess the wrong way. My fan stopped working
Costco has the fan on sale for $19.99 from time to time. Then they go back up to $29.99
It probably needs lub; just saw a video for that.
ours didn't work after first day (there were some water at the bottom still) ... it didn't work. But next day, when it's finally dried up, it worked :)
Are you stupid of course it stopped working it's water and your putting it in electric components smh
i did it today and wash within 2 min then put it upside down in the sun for 3 hours , now my fan is clean like new. LASKO tower fan.
Thank you 😊
tower fans pulled those dirt off the air which is like a "bonus" air filter "effect". manufacturers of such fans should make it easy to dismantle and clean and maybe enhance the "filter" effect with maybe metal fins and ionization
Maybe just leave it plugged in running while you dump a water hose on a electrical appliance next time 🤔. Don't do this use a shop vacuum or a leaf blower to blow the dust out. She trying to ruin your shit or get you electrocuted
I wasn’t expecting the tan to work after putting water on it.
I cleaned my tower fan the method you suggested.
After cleaning when dried, I plugged in, fan was directed. electric penel gone, means no button is in function.
Where are you located. I wish to you this fan free.

You the best 🥳
Does it really work?
Eliana valencia yes don’t be afraid and try it ... it work in most of the fans including the ones that are round , just haven’t had the chance to do a video... but make sure it dries
Thank you!!
Thank you so much 💜
THANK YOU!!!
I had this tower fan at home
She used 2 different fans. They are very similar, but if you zoom in to the fan in the beginning, you see large letters, like a logo on the front near the base. Zoom into the fan being plugged in, and there are no letters at all.
Don’t go hosing down electrical appliances with water like she’s telling you to do- just remove the few screws and clean it…safely!
The motor will be at the top, but the circuit board is at the bottom. You can damage the push buttons. I will not do that.
Jorge Besosa incorrect , but you don’t need to do it if you don’t want ... is all about yes or no . I am no forcing anyone. I done many already . All is about letting dry and it will work... or buy a new one ... life is full of choices
It actually all depends on which make and model fan you have. Some are different from others and are not all built the same way.
@@zmhhdez7511 you're a itiod
don't have to worry about the electronics on top?
Black arrow , no they must be seal cause they function well after is dry... I also done other kinds the same way and the top works fine.. after drying .. Don’t ask me how but it did.
@@zmhhdez7511 I won't question the secret technique!
Wow-i wonder if i could do this on a ceramic tower heater?
I haven’t done a video about it, but honestly I did it on mine and left it to dry and plug it and it work. I was going to throw away anyway so I said , well let’s just see if can be done .. I am not saying you should do it, but if you would like to get a clean one and the choice is to get rid of ... give it a try..
@@zmhhdez7511 thank you for taking the time to reply and happy holidays for you and yours!
I pulled my tower fan apart screw by screw only to find this video right after
It plainly states in the owners Manuel not to get the fan wet or place it in direct sunlight. Two strikes for you
I just took my Lasko tower fan apart and saw there's circuit boards at the top so water is a no/no!
Thnk yu❤️
i just ruined my tower fan following ur instuctoins, the electrifcals actually on the top, and while hosing down water it ruined the electricals :(
gracias por mostrarnos una mejor manera
Evelyn Calzada - Me es un placer !!!!
Oh wow, who knew there was such an easy way to clean this without taking it apart. Cant wait to try it!!!
Yes just tried !!!
I’d think people would want to turn it on it’s side because all the dirt and water will now go to the top where the buttons and lights are.
Why are they using water with electricity components in the first place ?
@@Speedyx485 Because they're not thinking.
99 percent of us do not have that big ass back yard lol
pavy415 no worries , mine is not big either ... the first I did was outside my apartment that many other tenants started to do the same ... so you need very little space, but most definitely you need a hose.
I wish I had a yard... even a small one.
I certainly wouldn’t hose mine down!
Seems like eventually it will screw up the control buttons on top of the fan.
Nice
Thank you
I think the side ways will be better
I tried this and now I'm dead.
You are dead? How ? If the fan make sure you let it dry if not it won’t turn on , let it out another day and get back to turn it back on
@@zmhhdez7511 I had a shock and now I'm dead.
Wonderful. Going to throw mine away. Thank you
Ok I am
Sorry
I would've taken it if you shipped it to me lmao
Why are u throwing it away ? Did it stop working ?
You're a dum* a** for trying it
Please be careful doing this.
I don’t agree with you , but you don’t need to do it if you don’t want to … I done my fan several times and I haven’t had any issues with it.
Thank you
Spray water on the upper electronics? I don’t think so.........
