      *Really like the light, but would never ever purchase any light like this having built-in cells, not easily replaced with freshly charged cells --- AS NEEDED. Too bad, Nitecore...*

      Yea, I agree with the removable battery. Also there should be three additional screws to make the belt clip be reversible to be able to clip to a hat or for additional uses. Otherwise perfect light. If there was another way to seal the charging port besides the rubber; with maybe a metal flap or screw in and an o-ring it would be absolutely perfect. I don't need strobe, I want a utility light that can do every thing I need that is portable. This light right now only needs those forementioned things to be perfect for me. I don't want a z shaped belt clip. I want a strong clip like it is. And the ability to reverse that strong clip to fit my needs.

    • @MrBazReviews

      Interesting point about the clip yes it is strong as you say being able to reverse it would be useful

    I hate soldered in batteries in anything too, they do it on purpose, it's part of the "throw away" mentality I guess. When it comes to wanting a torch that you can depend on, an easily replaceable battery is a must for me.

      Nitecore will replace battery for only parts charge. And you can always redo your own or hire an electrician. After warranty you can pay Nitecore.
      Or you can get the larger Acebeam x80 gt [32k lumens] or the smaller Fireflies E07 [7k lumens].

    • @SpaceShipDee

      It's actually soldered in because the connectors would quickly become oxidized leading to higher resistance and heat. Their first couple of prototypes had a removable battery and they decided to solder it + provide the USB C charging for that reason.

    Okay yeah it’s a neat light and has some cool features. But I’m sick to death of these companies claiming these high lumen outputs and cant go longer than 7 seconds on turbo.

      I like the ideas in here shame you can't adjust the other output levels that would have been much more flexible and the turbo would probably run fairly well at a lower output if you could adjust it

    Too many people worried about non replaceable battery with up to 500 charge cycles it's going to provide years of use before you need to find some one with a battery spot-welder who can do the work to swap it out. And in a few years time the battery tech will be better still. Works very well, tells you how much charge you have left - easy to charge up from any USB battery pack. Solid build that fits in a jacket pocket easily and good in your hand.

    • @MrBazReviews

      Down to needs on this one. I'm mindful of the fact I get review samples - so it's important I mention things I don't like or might be a potential deal breaker for some buyers. That way folks can decide for themselves. Yes the cell should last for years, there is a case of being able to easily remove it ie if the cell is flat a spare etc.
      Thanks for sharing your thoughts though useful to get some feedback

    Is an interesting light but for me there are 2 major failures the built in battery and the heat dissipation. In future version would be nice if they make a little bit longer few cm for a deeper reflector and some fins. That UI seems very intuitive and the possibility to customise the high level output but is not possible to do with the other level, in future would be very useful to customise all the levels outputs even the ultra low. I ordered one and let’s see how it goes, but I will never use as a primary flashlight EDC, for me is more suitable like a backup light ore in those situations that I don’t need a lot of runtime and power. It will be a great addition to my carry edc bag wit my trusty acebeam l30 gen 2

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  4 роки тому +1

      I don't like built in batteries that alone is a major put off. It has potential in terms of the style and UI, what they needed to do was give the user more control over the power output. I'm not sure if they'll do a mkII maybe, it's interesting alright but def not for everyone

    Comprehensive review, thanks. This reminds me of phones. Spare batteries carried around for wild camping for a week. Now soldered in, just like this torch. But the main reason I won't be buying it is the shallow led cup / wide flood. I'd want a deeper cup / more range, or, better still, a zoom facility like Ledlenser.
    Oh well, more interesting time researching a small, zoomable torch with lotsa lumen output.

    • @MrBazReviews

      Warranty should cover battery as well that is what I was told, out of warranty I'd imagine they will charge cost of parts ie a battery. Lifespan should be years but it depends on the usage. I don't agree with the design choice of having a non removable cell it can be changed but it's soldered in so likely hassle to do it yourself.
      I would have gone with a removable cell even if the top end power was not as high, I don't think people would mind

Really comes down to what you want the TM10K is a pocket monster, albeit with a limited run time in turbo. Concept 2 I think is more practical (would work well as a working torch ie used a lot - long run times)

      It can hold the 2000lm level quite a long time as shown in the video, it's only the turbo which is very limited in duration. I set it to 2000lm which I think is fine plenty of output. Looks like slightly fancier version of the Chinese produced lights where they shove as many leds in as possible and dont care about heat.

      So basically 4 of the leds are just there to turn on for 7 seconds for bragging rights.

      For an extra 250 you could have an automated defense turret with facial recognition

    • @foreiveralone
      @foreiveralone 5 років тому

      cele ritas 1 watt lasers are rated as class 4 lasers, which are banned in the US, prohibited in many other countries and/or requires licensing, you can be fined for possession of a class 4 laser without license. also, do you think you will have enough time to aim at the target’s eyes with such a concentrated beam in an emergency situation? sure it can blind him permanently, but it is not very tactical and efficient for CQC or close ranged self-defence, especially against a wild animal or an armed robber, the TM-10K has a very wide angle of beam, in otherwords the beam is very divergent; so as long as an enemy appears in front on you, you can just pull out this flashlight and press the turbo button and he’s blinded, you don’t even need to think about where he is. also, $50 lasers oftentimes fail or malfunction, the lithium-ion batteries used might be of very poor quality, and so is the laser diode. Nothing good comes cheap, and next time you think $50 lasers are a good way to defend yourself, you should probably think again, carefully.

    I kinda like the rectangle shape, but the light makes no sense - they're essentially saying the 6 LEDs and built-in battery is there solely for the 7 seconds of 10k lumens. Most of the time it's going to be a 1k-2k lumen light, in which case it's way too expensive and big for what it is.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  6 років тому

      It's as I said on another comment the lumens is now the torch equivalent of megapixels for cameras, ie more is better (that is the marketing thinking). But as we reached good enough on cameras, we also reach a point where for most users/buyers the lumens output is plenty enough. Other areas such as design, handling, spacing, customisation etc are all more important to me personally. The newer 21700 cells offer more capacity, but also higher drain so expect to see more powerful torches. Of course you could argue you don't have to use it at full power, and that's true ;-)
      Most of the time I'd use the 2000lm, it would have been nice to custom set the other power levels. It is interesting to look at models like this, however interesting v practical are not always the same hence the suggestions on how to change the design.

    • @user-tr2dh4xx6u
      @user-tr2dh4xx6u 5 років тому

      @@MrBazReviews 2k lumens for flood is overkill.
      The beam is too wide for its output.
      If you want distance a more focused 1k light will do the same or better.
      This one lights up way too big of an area with the 2k.
      Your eyes can only focus on a specific area, the rest of the flood is wasted on peripheral vision.
      I prefer a 1k light with a diffuser like the olight s1r.
      I would never buy a light with soldered batteries.
      And since using olights magnetic charge system i can't go back to regular lights.
      I used to be too lazy to always take batteries out to charge or to plugin the light. Plus with primary batteries you have to keep 20% batteries inside or just waste them, always frustrating with half dead primaries.

    • @user-tr2dh4xx6u
      @user-tr2dh4xx6u 5 років тому

      Yeah it's ridiculously overpriced just for the display features and extra leds. Most of Its power is useless since it will overheat instantly.
      One thing about extra leds is that its more efficient to run 6 leds at 200 lumens than to run 1 led at 1200.
      Higher outputs from single leds lead to more energy loss from heat.
      Although if you want efficiency then put a more focused lens and lower the output.
      I hate lights with that much flood, might as well get a lantern or diffuser.

      Well I used to wonder until you start using them, then you find there is a lot more to a light than at first appears (beam, run time, tint, handling) it's just like many products they do vary quite a lot - much more than some might think. I do quite a few different items on the channel, photo stuff, bit of computer/android devices even done microphones and other items. Torches are incredibly useful devices I use them all the time for outdoors or photo/videos I make. And for some reason I like doing the reviews too ;-). I'm sure if I did only one type of product video I'd get bored hence I mix it up a bit :-)

    Nitecore are well established in making torches, but at times they remind me of Apple with their products that are really over priced. the features are nice but would expect the user to be able to customise the use better than what it allows you with the TM10k i have a few of their torches/chargers and happy with the overall performance but at this price! £££ hhmm they could do much better and i hope there is some way to update the firmware, shame the TM10K Lumi could not stay on for at least 1 min.

      It's not a light I would buy even at a lower price, the no easy cell replacement is a show stopper for me. It was fun to play with that's about it for me

      minicoopertn i mean, it’s not that scientifically possible, for such power and extraordinary cooling system packed into such a small device, at least not yet, i mean, it’s a flood light, and it can run at 2000 lumens(Max) continuously for prolonged period of time, the 10k lumens function is probably just for immediate/emergency self defence or CQC, i mean, how often r u gonna use 10k/turbo anyway, the run time isn’t a joke, the technology put into this torch is actually extremely ahead of current flashlight industries, being able to make one single 21600 Li-ion battery output so much power, even for 7 seconds its already amazing.

      I have had about 6 Nightcores, two died, the one (EC25) died due to a 10 foot drop onto cement (one of many) and lasted 4 years, the Concept 1 failed due to a crappy button, but even then, it was 2 years old and survived many brutal drops.

      If you could have adjusted the output in turbo (to say 3000-10,000lm) that would have given longer run times at turbo. Honestly the 2000lm output is pretty respectable and it can hold it for quite a while, at say 4-5000lm it probably would have been nice. 7 seconds isn't long!

    • @foreiveralone

      how often r u gonna use 10k lumens anyway, 2000 lumens at max is enough for a flood light, and 10k should be just for self defence or CQC, you can’t rly pack that much into such a extremely small device, the cooling system simply cannot scientifically provide enough temperature reduction for something that will heat itself so quickly, so i think it’s rather reasonable for them to set max run time per shoot to 7 seconds
