For this Back to School list, I tried my best to curate a group of *good value* products for most people. While not necessarily the CHEAPEST, which I think is a cop-out, these are things that I'd get for myself thinking about when I was in college. Products that'll last long, serve multiple purposes and don't make you feel like you cheaped out - while not breaking the bank.
Definitely, for the laptop a more reasonable recommendation would be either the M1 Macbook (BUT refurbished) or a refurbished Surface Pro whatever. It really depends on what you would be doing in school though. You could also get a pen with the surface and use it for taking notes.
Ho yeah. Always felt like most popular tech youtubers live in a bubble where it's top of the line products or nothing. Not to say their content sucks; I love watching tech videos. But the "realistic" content is so scarce and not-as-popular that it makes flagship products the one everyone should go for---when that isn't always true
@@freyncis3161 exactly, theyd never recommend buying old flagships, given how that is how most students would go, like if an engineering student in this year might need a good tablet that support stylus, an old refurbished ipad from 2015/2017 might just be enough

The Sony WH line is one of the most underrated headphones in the budget space. They're modeled as less intense and more casual but still carry a lot of the same benefits of Sony Engineering. Nice pick.
Should have included the iPad Mini 6: it's smaller tha all the other iPads but it's still bigger enough than a smartphone, It has Apple Pencil gen 2 support, USB-C port, good for watching video, good for taking notes and drawing, and can easily be caried around with you

And even the laptops you go cheaper now a days, there's a ton of sacrifices. But yeah, thanks Ken and the Denki team for making a vid with actaully good value and good in general products for most students cause like everyone, we broke!
I am not in favor of carrying a bottle inside the backpack, even if you screw the top on solid and it "should not leak". The amount of gear I see on my bench with liquid damage. I advise having the bottle on the outside. And back to school season already? Quick question on the Sony headphones: Can I charge them while I use them? And... compliments on this FUNNY and Awesome video, wonderful job editing and making me laugh many times with the flubs! 👍👍👍👍
Hell yeah that Herschel backpack is awesome. I have the same one for about 3+ years now, using it everyday, and it looks like it's going to last me 10+ years more. It's very sturdy, but also lightweight.
It's most likely that the Ally will be banned from schools as a device that is viable t ok use as a computer, because of its form factor and it being marketed as a gaming device first. But let's say that it's allowed for schoolwork. I still wouldn't use it, even with the impressive internal specs, because I'd need to work on a 7" screen while using it undocked. That would mean squinting at what's basically a little over 1/4 of a 13" screen. If you must get a device with controls built in, the GPD Win Max 2 has been mentioned elsewhere. I can't personally say anything about it though, so I say you should do your own research. But first and foremost, get a laptop that, by design, can be used for portable productivity; there are a good chunk of conventional 13" laptops nowadays.
I love the Anker Powercore Slim. I think there are now 4 in my house so that everyone can throw one in a bag when they leave. It always comes in handy when my kid forgets to plug in his tablet to charge and we don't notice until we're already out.
