I know this is a joke. but the reasons for don't sit too close, where more complicated. (1) old cheap CRT could put out mild radiation when too close. (2) children got crushed by CRT that fell over onto them. (3) our understanding of why children develop bad eyesight was not as well understood, the lack of outdoor sunlight is what effected the growth of kids eyes. not being too close (4) most vr headsets have the lenses focus point set to 1.5 metres, around 5 feet, so the screen minus will be much further away than a smartphone
I have a set that I use all the time. I use it for my steam deck, but mainly for my fold 4. Since Samsung phones have Dex (which I NEVER thought I'd use) they are perfect for this use case. Puts a desktop experience on the glasses and turns your phone into a trackpad that's black and saves battery. The onscreen keyboard pops up on your phone whenever you select a text field. Since they are glasses and not goggles, you can see the phone just below the glasses perfectly.
I bought these because I believed the hype from all the UA-cam videos. I am a monitor fanatic, 4K HDR, the list goes on and on. These were literally the most uncomfortable things I ever put on my head. Even with my Steam Deck and 23 ultra; I just couldn't do it. I am definitely waiting until gen 3 or 4. I promise you; I couldn't wear them past five minutes. The concept is cool BUT the implementation just isn't there yet. I have high hopes for these in the future ❤
same here, I retuned mine immediately. And they also dont have polish iphone software out and wont even support samsung ultra 22. WTF . Better to get vr glasses

Comfort is a huge priority for us, so we appreciate hearing about users experiences when it comes to how the glasses feel. We hope that you'll be able to try us out again in the future! ❤
@@bigdaddy7729 Hey there! We currently do not have an iPhone app available. Our glasses are compatible with Samsung S22 Ultra phones with the Snapdragon chipset, and can be used for screen mirroring for the same device with the Exynos chipset. We also make our Nebula app APK available for users outside of the countries we have launched in. Thanks for trying us out, and we hope that you'll give another shot in the future ❤
I have a pair, and yeah, they’re great for flights and travel. Since they look somewhat like regular glasses, I don’t feel self-conscious about wearing them.
Bought these a few months back, didn't find any real use for them until i took them on holiday last week, connected with a fold and bluetooth keyboard it made my laptop irrelivant for my needs of work and saved lugging a laptop down to the coffee shop or bar
Denki channel did well highlighting it; i tried it out myself. The image is great, but IPHONE it only has screen mirroring, which kinda made no sense to me since you still need to look at the iphone screen to click on the right app to open. PC you can use as a primary display for privace, or extended display. Only issue i found with it, that is totally user dependant is the temples with the spring henge that adjusts to your head size. Depending on the person, it might start to apply extra pressure and you'll feel like your head is pulsating, at least that how it felt for me. But overall, it does have great image quality and potenital if they can get the app onto IPHONE it'll be more complete.
I actually held off on buying a pair because of how much Nreal was pushing this to UA-cam reviewers (they *had* to be compensating for something, right?). Finally bought a pair last month. I wish I hadn't second-guessed myself as for my needs they're really good (but they also suck). That said, my needs are entirely for a secondary display for my Fold 3, XBox Series S (yeah, I know...), and my M2 MacBook Air. As an AR experience via the Nebula app? They totally suck. There are only a few AR apps provided (just how many times, Nreal, can we do that cycling simulator?), and even getting the Nebula app to install/launch/not-crash on an Nreal "verified" device like the Fold 3 was trying. If you're buying these for an AR experience, don't. Wait for some future generation of these or some other manufacturer's AR glasses. But if you just want a secondary, VR-like display, they're great.
I've had them about a month now and 100% agree - crap for any kind of AR function and Nebula is bit pointless, but as a 2nd display they work really well. I use them with a Fold 3 too and good lord in Dex it's hard to fault with how simple it works. My only fault is there not being an easy way to charge the device you're using them on unless it's a phone with wireless charging - like the steam deck. I watch films in bed a lot and being able to lie in almost any position is great.
@@palamidagheo4520 That may depend on your TV and your eyesight and how close/far you sit from it. For me we have a smaller 50-something-inch TV in our living room. It is a standard LCD Samsung TV. A big reason I wanted the Nreal Air was that at my age (middle aged) some of the smaller text in Xbox games was harder to read from our loveseat or couch about 6-10' away from the TV hutch (especially late at night). I envisioned connecting the Nreal Air to the Xbox (via Nreal's HDMI connector) and sprawling on the loveseat playing games. For that purpose? It works great - crisp, clear text although there is some blur at the very edges of the display. Comparing playing a video game on a console/TV versus on a gaming PC/monitor, the experience is closer to a computer monitor than a TV.
The Nreal Air is a year old you got competitions around the corner like Rokid Max AR Glasses and EM3 Ether VR Glasses Nreal should be offering special discounts on their Air Glasses.
I have nreal air and used it with my steam deck. What he's not saying is that under 50% steam deck starts disconnecting your VR glasses while playing demanding games and you need external power for them to work at that point. It's a known issue.
I think I said it on your first vid, but I'll say it again, I'll jump on ship, once it supports atleast 120hz, 1440p and hopefully by their second gen, they'll fix the jitterness issue you mentioned.
I have had these for a while. They good for viewing content, but AR aspects are seriously lacking. There are very few useful apps for the AR environment. Something Nreal really needs to address to make the glasses worth the price. On top of that, they aren't very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. At least for me anyway. The arms tend to dig into the side of my head. I don't even have a big head either, so I added some felt pads to the end of the arms to help alleviate some of that, which does help. Also, I think the last time I checked it was being worked on, but it would be nice to use your actual PC monitor or laptop as an actual display when plugging the glasses into a PC. The last time I used them for this, the Nreal air only mirrors the display, it won't let you extend it. In other words, at least for Windows, the OS doesn't recognize it as a separate display.
This is what Apple should be perfecting instead of making a VR headset. I could see this getting picked up way more easily due to the lack of bulkiness
at least it is fullhd. i think wearable screens are a great thing if you dont have the space for a big tv. cinematic mode on psvr2 is probably one of it's best features, if you don't have a big tv set. there are people who dont have a tv at all and use mainly mobile devices or a laptop. being able to use a wearable screen like this or the psvr2 to experience stuff on a larger screen without actually having to get a giant tv into your home is a solid value proposition.
I am _so close_ to buying one of these. Honestly I have a similar concern but with the Temples, I got the Razer Anzu's a while back cause they were like 90% off bringing it down from like $200 to like $30 only to realize the temples/arms weren't long enough to fit my massive head so it's insanely uncomfortable. For most glasses, no problem you can just buy new temples and unscrew the old ones and screw the new ones on, for smart glasses like both of these though, you can't just replace them since that's where all the tech is.
HDMI can carry power...but usually not enough for devices like this I imagine. I have a HDMI to VGA adapter that runs fine off the Nintendo Switch dock with no additional power. ;) (I prefer to game on a CRT. OLEDs are still to expensive for me to consider getting one) So you are only half right on that.
This is a fantastic item for travel, especially by plane, which is the main purpose I'd use it for, but at the near $400 price point, it's just too steep for that sole purpose right now.
