As a 17 year old who’s been watching the ufc since 2013, first ppv was Silva wiedman 1, never until I seen Israel fight for the first time did I realize I’m in love with mma “the first Brunson fight” he caught my imagination and my mind just went into 1 million different directions, I entered my first gym because of Izzy, he really is more of an inspiration than he knows, without him I wouldn’t be the person I am today, even with the Jan loss, the post fight interview was everything to me, a guy I looked at as a god took a loss like that, man I can do anything too
No. A lot of horrible people are good at things. I admire their skills but not them as a person. Izzy is both great at what he does and is a good person. That's why he's a role model.

To fight where no one is rooting for you but your team and your parents. To fight where you’re the underdog against the most well rounded fighter who was unbeaten at middleweight at the time. To go in there and finish him. Raise your hand after a tough first two rounds. That’s an incredible experience. So yea damn near cried cuz I’m looking for moments like that before I die.

At the beginning, when I saw Adesanya for the first time, my personal opinion of him was still rather averse, like most fighters who polarize with a lot of trash talk. Being 6”2 and scrawny had no confidence in my athletic abilities 2 years ago. Saw Izzy fight and felt like “aight cool muscles don’t mean shit” started training martial arts and it changed my life. So yes, Izzy is definitely a role model
