As the only fully electric estate car in the UK, it was with pure joy that we get behind the wheel and headed over The Pennines into the Yorkshire Dales. Wensleydale Creamery, here we come!

We have a 2024 MG5 Trophy. Love it. I drive it everywhere in eco and KERS set on 3. We've done 2200+ miles with an average of 3.5 mi/kwh
That’s excellent, decent weighty regen, we really like MG5 multipurpose estate with good power, thank you Andy
I upgraded from the MG SR to the facelift in December. I feel they have really upgraded the road handling. The infotainment system has its little niggles but Android Auto works well . I love the pro pilot features and easy ability to disable Lane keep assist with a click of button on the indicator staIk. This one will be a keeper for few years as yet....
Yes the latest version is a better offering, we loved the first one though, thank you Rikm
Watched both of your road trips with the old and new MG5. Very impressive. Surprised you did not show the boot in either video?
We’ve a review of the 5 coming and there’s the previous review too which details the boot, it’s pre facelift but same boot size etc. if you’d like a link posting please shout, and thank you
@@PlanetautoUK Yes please as thinking seriously about the older MG5 SR

Great review thank you. I have had one of these for 3 months. Loving it, the app works well and has some great features.
Thanks Brian - glad you enjoyed part one. Totally agree with you 👍
Great review. Still seems like excellent value for money and all the benefits of an EV and an estate car with none of the faff. Im impressed that MG keep evolving it too without taking away what makes it good.
Thank you Alan, nail on the head, plus keeping prices achievable for many.
Great review. I live near the A6 in Stockport, and it's no better a road down here! The facelifted MG5 looks a lot more polished than its predecessor. It's range that puts me off EVs, but it is slowly getting better!
Thank you Ambien, yes 😆 it’s certainly looking a lot less Roewe, yes until they’re 400 up a lot of people still won’t consider them.
Some of my favourite roads , as you know !
Indeed Richard, such a great area 😊
Some great countryside around this part of the world ❤ car looks ok ish🤔 think it does what it is designed to do but personally would prefer an internal combustion engine in it rather than electric.! Enjoyed the review planet auto 🚘 🙂 🎉🎉
Thank you David, yes until ranges and improve they’re going to be playing catch up with ICE, yes we do love driving these roads.
If you can charge at home at cheap overnight rates its a compelling offer.
Yes, well said - we cover charging feasibility etc in Pt2
MG 5 was my top choice when ordering last year, I do like an estate.
Second choice was MG4
Neither were available at time so third choice eC4 became first choice. Whilst I'm in a hate-hate relationship with the charger networks in Ireland I really do like the car
But I'd still put the MG5 at No1 if I ever go electric again, which is doubtful.
I would jemmy that bloke out of the dashboard and replace him with a broken unit😂
He’s optional 😆 yes ev suit some not all, it’s been a nightmare to get virtually any vehicle, we’re yet to experience the eC4, thank you Bull
Unfortunately the Take That member moved about 10 years ago
Good point John, thank you
Great review by the way, which do you prefer the MG5 or the 4 ?
We love the fact that the MG5 is a fully electric estate car, and we love that the MG4 is a great little hot hatch! Each have their own selling points, that we wouldn't be able to choose - ideally, we'd have both. Thanks, @johntsinclair
