Genuinely curious, haven't heard much about it, and current lithium iron batteries for any surron, Talaria or even Stark e bikes kinda suck if you intend on riding for more than 50 miles. Also, new 72v batteries cost literally hundreds to thousands of dollars. Love the tech, but so far I've found very few reasons to scrap my street bike and YZ250 2 stroke.

The clutch is a great improvement. These bikes are going to change freestyle moto because of how light and powerful they are. They have one that will go 90mph and run for 2+ hours. Unfortunately it's almost $14 thousand dollars.

Hi cool videos bro, is there any chance you could provide pictures of the manual i am having a hard time finding parts break pads how much gear oil and where the sump is what chain i need also mine comes with a key to start the bike as the start button wired has snapped black wire no idea where it goes back so was seeing if i could buy a replacement key set as well etc i just cant find parts anywhere here in the uk arghh lol, thank you so much kind regards

I switched to an electric dirt bike after years of gas bikes and I will never go back. Here's why: no foot brake, no clutch and gears, twist and go makes so much easier in tight single track. You can actually hear what's going on around you, barely any engine noise. You don't have to turn your bike off when you stop for a long period of time. Nothing to burn you with you take a spill. I can ride my electric almost anywhere, and nobody seems to mind. Way less maintenance. You don't have to rebuild the engine every 100 hours, no oil changes, no air filters, no spark plugs, no radiator fluid. The only downside that I have experienced is riding time, but that can easily be fixed by purchasing a second battery. Electric is not perfect but better than gas. And the battery technology is getting better and better.

@@thomastarkanian8980 I disagree with you. Dont let the Talaria fool you. I have been on rides with friends riding big gas bikes and they can barely keep up with me on my Talaria. KTM 450, KLX 300, WR 250. Keep in mind we were riding twisty single track. My Talaria handles jumps and rocks no problem. Climbs like a goat too. Of course it does not have the HP of a big gas bike so it only goes a litte over 50mph. But I dont street ride my Talaria. And pretty rare I go 50 on the dirt. Its light and nimble. Making it quick and easy to ride compared to my past gas bikes. Give one a try before you say its a mountain bike.

Look at the batteries we used 15 and 20 years ago. Now look at the progression over the past 10 years. The batteries WILL catch up, give it 3 years.

I love eletric dirt bikes because they’re stealthy ! Good for urban exploring without people being annoyed or calling the cops possibly, plus it’s assumed it’s legal most of the time because it’s considered an eletric bike

It is not an electric bike and isn't street legal. The law for class 3 is 750watts at 28mph.
The thing is cops usually won't bother you as there not noisy. But once you start to wheelie break the speed limited. Now your gonna find out you need a license and has to be registered. Plus it will be impounded if your in california.

I’ve worked on these before the cables are really thin so they have a tendency to break down a lot and the connectors for the cables melt when you put to much power thru them.
The first gen Nicot bikes had some issues. The 2nd gen bike is much better. If you are going to be modding them, then you absolutely should double check the cables and connectors and make them more solid
Might be wise to change the gears.
These bikes have a ton of power - having 4 gears is a big plus!

The wheelie wasn't giving it the beans, it was a 15% blip in the throttle. Even compared to a 450, I would say electric bikes have more torque, but have other limitations. I agree, electric dirt bikes are not comparable to a KTM, Kawi or Yamaha, they are not race bikes. The tech is not there yet. If you are looking for a race bike, do not get an e-bike, but if you want something fun you can ride anywhere, anytime, that looks and feels like a dirtbike, then an e-bike is a good option.
@@paulyplewa well said. I do want to get a Surron, just where I live it wouldn't be worth it. We have so much deep sand that the narrow tire and electric motor wouldn't do well. I just get sick of videos saying "X is a dirtbike replacement". E-bikes are cool, but until we get new battery tech gas bikes are in no danger.
@@appv12 Electric bikes don't do well in deep sand/soil. They have enough power to ride through it, but the battery drains quicker in super soft/deep soil. Agreed, the skinny tires and small brakes on the Sur-Ron Light Bee are not good, that is why i personally own a Sur-Ron Storm Bee, which is a full size motorcycle. The brakes, tires and suspension are proper. The downside of the Storm Bee is that it is very heavy, but you get 22.5Kw of power to play with. I agree 100% with you, e-bikes are no replacement for gasoline powered dirt bikes, the tech is not there yet and having to wait 4 hours to fully charge a bike sucks. Eventually it will get better, but as of right now, gas bikes are in no danger of getting replaced.

The biggest con is they aren't street legal. This is an electric motorcycle. An Ebike has 3 classes and they fit non of them.

Gears and a clutch on an e-bike make it feel more like a gasoline dirt bike. Having gears allows you to maximize the power. You get a ton of torque in 1st and 2nd. You get a ton of top speed in 3rd and 4th gear. The gears allows you to not flatline on the top end
They have manual transmission on electric cars they just don't make them standard.
Most electrics are just direct connection and only need 1 gear.
Man a 125 two stroke can do that too if you whisky throttle it. And my old crf230L could do that if you popped the clutch just right

How much roughly is one with no upgrades I am in Canada but it's just an estimate. I mean out here just to get a s***** stand-up scooter that literally crap quality exterior built and they wanted 1200 that's with taxes and delivery and I have that thing now and I mean I can get up to 42 km an hour and I get a range of 45 km except it feels like a death trap. You know just just to get a you know Sur ron is like 8 grand or something so I would assume that an actual setup like yours probably like 15 or 16,000 just f****** flows my mind.

Did nobody else go riding 8 hrs a day as a kid? I'm sure they are fun, but they're certainly not practical. These are nothing more then full size pit bikes. Fun for half hour rip. They can't go on long rides or motos. You cant race enduros or harescrambles either.

Electric is not the future. People really need to pull their head out of their climate change a-hole and start breathing fresh air. Been saying this for years that battery technology is NOT were it needs to be to start making cars, bikes and the million other things run off batteries. The battery has still not been perfected, the resources to make all these things run off batteries do NOT exist. I’m an electronic engineer and have been doing it for over 30yrs. Batteries have a short and limited life, they are highly impacted by extreme heat and cold and if a battery is damaged and gets a short (which happens ALL the time) it is junk. Mining the resources are extremely toxic and the minimal amount of recycling is even more toxic. When an area gets exposed to radiation, even if it takes 10k years for it to reach a safe level, it will eventually be safe. If an area gets exposed to leaking or damaged batteries it will NEVER be safe. That area especially soil, it will be toxic forever. Not to mention we do not have the infrastructure to support, make , recycle and charge batteries. Every angle you look at it, it is a failure and you would have to more then double the amount of power plants to keep up with the charging demands. And guess what these power plants run off of? Coal and natural gas. Dummies don’t even know the basics when it comes to the manufacturing, recycling, charging and disposal of said batteries. And if there’s a short in the battery or if it’s damaged there is a direct and constant discharge of the battery that creates extremely high levels of heat that causes fires that can’t NOT be extinguished. The battery and anything tied to it will burn until the charge is completely dead. You will have a fire that can NOT be put out. Keep soaking up the propaganda dummies. EV’s are NOT the future with the level of battery tech we have.
I said this from the beginning of these electric vehicles and bikes there's no lag it's going to be the most Torquey vehicle you've ever been on because it's like those old electric cars on the electric track that you had with the gun and you pulled the trigger that electricity goes immediately to that little electric car and goes 0 to 100 in less than a second. Compared to what we're all used to with combustion. Press the pedal the fuel goes into the engine and we have to wait a second for everything to fire. RLTW 3/75

Why would you have gears on an electric bike? It defeats the purpose of having instant torque at anytime. Even heavy cars don't have gears.
It's really cool but a CRF300L literally has triple the range on one tank
