The design of the assassins were so cool, especially the sound design with this ones breathing and flashlight, was hoping he’d have a sick fight scene here.

I was disappointed at this movie's plot, or lack thereof. I wanted the Assassin to have a cool fight scene where he overcomes the monsters like a traditional heroic epic. The fact he doesnt even have a weapon and loses instantly felt like a cop out to me.
@@nicholasthurmond4006 mate, I completely agree, would have been unreal to see an assassin fight something like this, obviously he’d lose but to see actual action like the war battle later on in the film.
@@nicholasthurmond4006The plot is interesting, it represents the cruelty of the world, and spoiler for anyone. Plague Doctor restarted the world two times, trying to accomplish something.
After that, the bomb goes off, either a pararrel universe, or the remnants of the bombs

The sound design in this movie is probably some of the best I've heard
I think alot of people are missing something;
They Last Man is sending an assassin down, exactly the same, with the same exact brief case of explosives.
Each assassin doesnt help anyone, alone, lets them all die, and continues, he comes down here, and almost sets the bomb off before dying.
Whats worse, the suit case never blows up, their all defective. Their all dying a meaningless death because The Last Man never changes anything, keeps making the same choices, expecting a different outcome, the definition of insanity. The Mad God?.... All the bombs, are made the same, so they never changed it, they never explode. Hundreds of years worth of assassins have died. If it took nearly a week for a assassin to go down that pod. Then the mountain of cases is evidence, this has been going on for a LONG time.
Wdym he dosent make the same choices he chooses a different route with a different map each time and the next assassin he sends just ends up finding a car driving through a war zone and is never seen again (for those who haven't seen the "movie" he doesent die or anything he's driving in a shitty car then it just hard cuts to the nurse and we litteraly just don't know what happens to him) and the suitcase does blow up at the end there's no narrative or lesson here just a bunch of pretentious garbage framed in amazing stop motion

Maybe the last man sent all those other assasin's to fail because he needed more tnt in the area, maybe this assassin wasn't supposed to live either

Maybe the man who created them couldn’t make any effective weapons.
Besides, it would be safe to assume this particular monster would be really hard or even impossible to kill with a gun.
I always thought he had something that looked rather close to a holster on his front pelvis area.
I got an idea how if he had Robocain to go with the assassin as a bodyguard for protection, Robocain can just ride outside on top of the pod all the way down.

Don't know if anyone noticed this, cos I only just did. But at 1:46, is it me or does some of that stuff he's stepping over look similar to the equipment he's wearing? Like gas masks, oxygen tanks and tubing? I never noticed that, kinda establishing how he's not the first one to come through here, and clearly this is as far as they ever got
I love the amount of detailed story telling in every frame
It's definitely a good appetizer to the meal-sized reveal of MOUNTAINS of Briefcases. The best visual direction comes when the story is laid out for perceptive viewers.

I thought there were so many brifcases because there needed to be so many to blow the entire awful place up. I don't see one briefcase of dynamite doing the job.
Maybe that's why nature continually creates and struggles to perfect life. But, with each new torm of life, it's still something imperfect

@@RamosTheSlamos I read modern day diving bells can hold up to 4 people unless the one in mad god is an old pod made for 1 and it’s not enough time to send even help.
Cooperation doesn't exist in the world of Mad God, far as I can tell. Besides, the Last Man is just making the same mistakes over and over and expecting different results each time.
In the 'surgery' scene after this when he looks at the clock everything as an explanation I've seen says this is supposed to represent his life ending or something but I think it's more him realizing that the bomb didn't go off and kill him before whatever's coming happens

Its insane to me that the legion of assassins the last man has under his thumb are these giant 10 ft tall behemoths that would crush any normal human, but down in the world of mutants, they're no better than an actual human being

And with how he lumbers around, i have no doubt he would literally just squash anything as big as him.
I want to see this world expanded so badly. There's so much potential for something amazing. I've taken it into my hands to work on a Mad God Fan Film that does just that. Its stopmotion, and should be coming out sometime around March I hope

Theres already quite a bit of qorldbuilding if you look, it appears there has been a massive war, America is underground now and it seems the last Amrican forces are throwing tanks at eachother (on the surface), there appears to be Germans allied with the Last Man, what looks to be a Waffen unit, and possibly mountaniers, interestingly almost everyone of those soldiers not wearing a suit seems to be deformed in some way, probably why that dude with the nails is referred to as "The last Man"

Everybody thinks the bomb is defective but it's actually the world the bomb is in that's defective. Time is broken down there so the clock doesn't work until the Beast gets time moving again at the end.

The Assasin was really cool ngl.
It was immediately after this scene ended where the movie lost me. Still, props to the animation team and director.

Agreed, this movie teaches the very important filmmaking lesson that you cannot really make a movie without some humanity in it.
The assassin is really the only character in this movie who is not overtly grotesque in some manner, as soon as he disappears from the film, the movie fails to make me care, when he shows back up in the flashback, i'm invested again. I wish the whole movie was about him.

No that's what made it good, it showed that even if you were smart you would still die. The part that ruined the movie was when they showed the live action part of the guy dropping them down into "hell"

It's called stop motion. The good old method.

Stop-motion animation uses real scaled-down models of things, moving them a tiny bit at a time while filming each movement in a single frame. When the frames are run sequentially they look like continuous movement. It's a painstaking process, but the result is distinctive as you see here.

There's something about the light being a real light makes the response the scene illicits that much more visceral.
Would had been cool if the story was about the assassin finding a way to escape from this hell he in after finding out about the suitcase.
I'm just gonna say this right now, should the Last Man actually get it together and make a proper bomb that works, that assassin is gonna blow that whole place off the face of the planet with all those extra bombs there.
If that TNT gets wet (and it will)it becomes very unstable because the nitro bleeds out of the filler. It will eventually go off from that garbage behemoth clumping around.

The explosion didn't go off because it was faulty. This worldn't does not follow any physics our does. At the end of the movie, it starts up again causing a new world to be born
After the movie stopped following the Assassin or any Assassin, I kind of lost interest. No real story, just world building.

Exactly, the creator made it seem like it was gonna have some cool narrative, but it's pretty much just some weird ideas he had that he turned into a movie.
So much for an assassin and so much for a movie I rather call it a visual that's too long for its own good it could easily been less than hour long and still be same.

If this project had been released a few years earlier, I could come to appericiate it more. But all the fun is taken out of thanks to the creator's tidbitting and loses the meaning of its message. If you catch my meaning.
