Hey Joe…. Thanks so much for sharing these new purchases! There has been a lot of discussion on UA-cam and other forums about value for money and I totally agree but that said I am so glad that we are getting something new from the Harrison estate as opposed to something being repackaged like we have been getting. At least we’re getting a 5.1 which is more than Paul has given in his sets and finally able to get demos and outtakes which we haven’t seen from George. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the remixes. Take care!
I think that with all do respect for George's estate, the prices for most of the editions are too much, the package is nice and all, but it doesn't justify the price...
I follow, Mayo. That’s the configuration I want to get (5-CD box), the Uber box set is, in George’s own words, “all too much.” The only negative thing about the 5cd box is the price, but the packaging itself is not that bad, in fact it is pretty cool. Everyone is complaining about the size of the package but I don’t see why. It has a book, the poster, and the 5 CD’s. What’s wrong with that? It’s a nice looking package. Not Run of the mill at all.
The John Lennon releases had a bigger book, bigger packaging, 2 blu-rays, just about the same amount of cds and cost about $50 less. That's what's wrong it. If it was the same size as the Lennon box sets, I would mind the price.
I'm with you! I don't think the prices is that outrageous, to quote George" it's all up to what you value". For me it's always the music first, books and posters and what nots are always secondary. Can't wait to get mine!
Hi Joe, So nice to see you. Well, I agree wholeheartedly on the steep price but as you make a valid point.... so does Mazzy.... there are a lot of people to pay. Because this album means so much to me and I have purchased this when they reissued it in 2010.. could it be.... the cute little box set. I too saw the Andrew Dixon video... hey... does it show that I support everyone in this beautiful medium. Back to this box.... it is a nice package.... convenient and nice to store. Cannot wait to hear your review on how the remastering and fresh new version sounds. God bless you my friend.... and Isn't it a Pity that they don't make albums like this anymore, Tino
Hello Joe, finally I got a copy of this 5 CD/Bluray Ed., as everyone I was concerned about the price not the quality on this, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it in 56 USD here in Mexico, it's the same version from Czech Republic. Saludos!!!
hey joe...this was a really fun presentation...and although i don't buy cd's, i think the box looks great...i don't blame you at all for getting it....can't wait for you and kit and the gang to discuss this on talk more talk (which everybody should watch!)......peace again my friend...rocky
I had ordered this with the 8LP set, then cancelled the CDs then reordered the CDs. Its only money and I love ATMP. Might not do it for any of his other albums but this and Bangladesh I love. Enjoyed and agreed with your video. Take care!
Hi Joe, totally agree with all your reasons on this 5cd set, as they are exactly why I bought the set as well. But you need to check out the 8 LP deluxe, far nicer and looks good ...you are missing out if if just stick to your crate.. which won’t look good on the shelf!!
It is better the way they've packaged the discs in this set. It is easier to take them out, all you have to do is lift out the booklet and poster and the ribbon is handy for lifting them out as well. With the book, depending on size it could be difficult to take the discs out. I saw on Andrew's vid, people saying this set wasn't value for money compared to Lennon/McCartney boxsets in the past.
Some kind of heavy-duty, clear plastic, sealable cover would be ideal for a box like that. I don't know if such covers are available. If they were, the cellophane wouldn't be so crucial. I put my cardboard CD cases (not the jewel cases) in click-zip, clear plastic sandwich bags which do the trick as they keep moisture out. As a collector you probably have state-of-the-art covers anyway.
Picked this box up as well. I’m ok with the set, and I’m very happy that all the audio is at least included; however, I agree with the assertion that this box is overpriced. I’m glad to have it, but I will definitely think twice before preordering any future Harrison Super Deluxe box sets.
Another Fantastic video Joe, thanks so much sharing this I do love your videos. I would love to have this set but not for the price I have to save for the Get-back/ let it be set maybe one day. I’m looking forward to your Uber unboxing video!! Thanks again take care and God Bless
Great video Joe. You make an excellent point re all of these reissues. It’s so good to look at your shelves and see these beautifully packaged reissues. I cancelled my 5 CD + 1BD edition because I was disappointed with the value and packaging. After watching your video showing the splatter vinyl, I bought that instead. I may not even open it, but it will look tremendous on my shelf next to the other reissues. I might be missing the point, but that feels right for me. Cheers. Mark
Nice work Joe. This is the version I'm getting in order to get all the bonus material. Im not in a position to afford the 8 vinyl set or uber box. Take care.
Hi Joe. Just received my CD / Blu ray set and thoroughly enjoying it. When you get the Uber set, could you compare it with the book in the cd set with regards to what the extra contents is in the expanded Uber book? I know it includes tipped in lyrics and a section on the 2001 reissue, for example. I don’t do vinyl, but tempted by the Uber set because the book is expanded. Thanks, Paul
Hi Joe, That set looks great. I will probably get one of the sets in the near future but I hope you enjoy all you get and looking forward when your done listening to hear your reviews. Stay well and take care
It‘s nice to see you really enjoying this edition of ATMP which is my choice, too. The mailman will bring it today and I look fondly forward to it.- And I wish you all the best with your Uber Box Set 👍🏻 which seems to be really a dream 🌊🍀
Thanks for showing this set Joe. I'm going to get it, mainly for the song Cosmic Empire. I agree with you on the packaging. It's alittle costly as we all know though.
The trick is - if you want to keep the cellophane to preserv the box, you take an ordinary clear tape and stick it around all 4 sides - close to where you gonna cut. And if you cut it on 3 sides only but leave it on top - you will even have the back of the cellophane hinged on. If you treat the box nice it will last a long time. And if you put it for display on a shelf it will appear to look un-opened - if that's what you want.
Hi Joe, The music, the 3 demo discs and jams make up a big part of the price of the set. But comparing it to the John Lennon sets Imagine, Give Me Some Truth and Plastic Ono Band this one is way overpriced. But like I said before.... the music makes up a big part of the price. Yesterday I listened to the 3 demo discs and wow .... they are great. Tonight I'm gonna sit with a whiskey and a cigarette and will enjoy the remix of the original album. Enjoy listening.
You know as a fan for all of us it is hard to pass on it :). But I do like the packing on it and I do like it . I do hope to get to listen to it soon . You go Joe and keep on collecting it lol . Great video and enjoy it my friend !!!!
Waiting on mine to arrive.I must say this looks bigger than the initial web images that I saw.I do think however for the price the book should have been the same size as Paul and John's deluxe sets.Great stuff as always and thank you.
Very helpful Joe, thanks. I was already leaning towards buying this set (because I really want the demos without going broke) and now your video convinced me to go for it. I normally do not buy box sets, but ATMP is George’s greatest musical achievement in my opinion and warrants special treatment.😎
That's a great package...Maybe next time the Harrison estate will take into consideration the fan's justified complaints... But for now that's the price we have to pay unfortunately to enjoy another Beatles related product...
i originally had this one preordered but canceled. way to pricey for what you get so im riding on the theory that its going down in price like POB did on amazon
Wonder if they will start a Ringo Archive soon? His first album was great! Lots of sessions and outtakes and demos from that one. We have seen three solo Beatles archives so far.
Decades ago, all we had were 12" albums (single or double), but all consistent in size - LPs that could all be filed away on shelves, but look really great. These days, it seems to be a complete mish mash not only of sizes but different presentation boxes - clam boxes which I hate and then slip cases which I prefer, clam boxes 7" square and then longer rectangular boxes. I just wish record companies could agree on some kind of unified size - I think the McCartney and Lennon ones at least look as if they are offering some kind of value, but it is still a shame they could not agree on a standard size confirmation after all, don’t we want to have the various members of the groups works nicely lined up on the shelf together. For me, this set is about £40 / $60 overpriced. Released on the same day is a Kim Wilde set - 5 CDs and 2 BluRays with book for half the price of this Harrison set, so I won’t be making the purchase on this until I see it at a much better price.
I'm really excited about this box set, especially the demos of Beautiful Girl, Sour Milk Sea, and Dehra Duhn. The books one of my favorite parts of the Paul sets and I don't think this one will disappoint.
It looks a nice box to me- in terms of the size, like I've seen someone else remark, it's a compact disc set so why shouldn't it be compact? Big isn't always more beautiful anyway. I guess everyone agrees it's overpriced, which is fair comment, but I can understand why you would want it as a collector, it looks like a nice thing to have and I'm hearing good things about the new remastering and remixes.
That is the version I opted for. For me, the uber set for me wasn't an issue of price (although it is overpriced) it was the issue of room. That is a big box and I am running out of room with all this stuff. I generally love the new mix. A lot of the overwhelming reverb is gone and it is like you can hear all the instrumentation freed from it.
Thanks for doing this Joe. I ordered the deluxe too and was curious about what it looked like. It doesn't look chintzy, or undersized-- streamlined maybe. I may wind up with both sets myself.
Hi Joe, I went to 3 Target 🎯 stores where l live and can not find anything, please advise me which is the best online place to buy this cd box set? The Uber box 📦 l can afford but I the cd set is what I am going with because to me it’s practical without all the bells and whistles.l bought a lot of large gnomes and placed them around my house to remember George.
Hey Joe looks like a Cool George Harrison All This Must Pass Deluxe Packaging , are you gonna hang that Poster & where are you gonna put it ? those cds looks great i like the appearance of it all , looks a cool one to get , enjoyed this video wish it was longer but as you know All Things Must Pass take care Rock on Peace
This is the set I'm gonna buy. I'm gonna wait maybe a month and a half to see if the price comes down a bit. RIght now it's on Amazon for $130. I would agree, a bit too high. This should only be about $100. A perfect autumn time album to listen to so maybe I'll wait until October. Still, I'm fine with this set and it's size. It gives me what I want. For me, it's all about the music. I'm glad it includes a nice book but it's about the music. I agree with you about the packaging of the cd's. Cannot stand when the sleeves are mounted in those pouches. A pain in the ass to get out of. Prefer this packaging. A nice "look see" into what I'll be getting in a few weeks. Thanks Joe.
Excellent video, Joe! After seeing this, I'm glad I got this set. I also ordered the 8 LP box. Wish I could have gotten the Uber, but a little out of my range:) I agree with everything you said. Yes, all of these editions are overpriced, but this is a nice set. It has all of the songs in a convenient, compact format. Beautiful box, really. I like the recessed area where the sleeves fit in, almost highlighted in there with the outer tray framing them with the blue and orange colors. You get the poster and book as well ( although smaller and the book should be Hardcover imho). Could there have been more "niceties" added for the price? Of course. But all in all it's a nice little box that will display nicely. Thanks for the video! I'll be watching for the Uber video and music reviews;)
Looks like the Apple Jam is in proper order again, the 2014 set altered the AJ order, as well as adding the bonus tracks at the end of disc one, another odd move. Cant wait to hear about the SQ!
Joe my Uber box from Sound of Vinyl is still showing “unfulfilled” no indication my order is ready to ship or has shipped. What does your Uber box order say when you go to your account there ? Thanks Jeff
@@MeanMrMayo Joe my Uber box shipped out of Kentucky and is scheduled to be delivered this Wednesday at my home in New Jersey via Pittsburgh. I’m thinking you should be on a similar schedule
Hi Joe I’m awaiting my deluxe box set and awaiting the 3 Cd SHM from Japan. Yours and Andrew Dixon’s presentation are informative. I’ll admit, like others, I’m a little disappointed in the size of the deluxe box set and the inside booklet. However, I’m saying to myself the deluxe box set is quite unique in itself. I’m hoping the remixed music justifies the price we’re all paying for these sets. Looking forward to hearing this as well as both yours and Andrew Dixon’s review.
Hi joe you made me think with this video as I’m getting Uber edition I’m going to do what you did with this . So I’m going to get the cd deluxe set as well be easier to play the cds from this set . Great video thanks joe
@@MeanMrMayo Why thank you, sir. I know many of the older folks, like us, are not very interested in 5.1 but once you hear the way the surround comes at you from all sides it is just amazing. I started with Venus and Mars and band on the run and never looked back. Stunning surround mixes on those two. Best, Jim
The design of this box set looks good. I'm still not sure I wanna get this 50th version though. I feel like I'd play it once and go back to the original. The wall of sound is a big reason All Things is great. Taking that away always sounded like a terrible idea to me. I'm looking forward to your review.
I like it Joe but it's £108 here in the UK.. it's £50 overpriced in my opinion..I only paid £80 for the big White Album Box set and £50 for Abbey Road..these retailers certainly know how popular this album is to rip us fans off.
I had that poster on my wall for a while as a teenager, but it was scary so I took it down. You are obsessive man. The Harrisons are gonna get that grand out of you one way or another. Friar Park needs some refurbishing so every dollar, pound, and euro counts. Is the book in the cd set the same as the Uber set book but smaller?
"i wasnt going to get this"..is rapidly becoming your catchphrase, nice one Joe...cant wait for your Uber Box video x........ (one thing i am keen to hear opinions on is what is the music like ?, after all the unboxings are done, will we get a review on the actual music content ?)
Great unboxing Joe , The set looks great to me , but like you said way overpriced ... a Similar Bob Dylan set would cost about $90-$100 CDN. This one is going for $169 CDN. before tax .... ha ha ha ... Enjoy all of it ......
I honestly really don’t like those kangaroo or slide pouches that are in the back covers of books. I feel like they scratch the CDs. If it’s on a page that’s at least better because you can widen the pouch before taking it out
A very practical buy, Mayo !! That's what I will get !! My favorite post-Beatles album (by far) !! God bless Dhani and others for placing the father's work in such a Legendary way that even the Lennon's cannot display !
I honestly find these standalone album sets as just bait to sucker and gouge fans to spend more money half the time they don't even do anything significant to the mix to warrant buying they are basically glorified loot crates I only care about the sets that give you every album in one collection. Back when I was younger Beatles stuff was rare and it was a special thing to find it in stores nowadays I can walk into any store and find something with them on it and its not really that special anymore I've seen Abbey Road plastered on so many things I'm sick of lookin at it. I have grown to become very selective in the Beatles Merch I buy whereas before I swooped it up in fear of it being gone I kinda miss that excitement
I bought the 3 cd disc set...and I'm satisfied with it...if I can get away with it cheap I usually do. It's a great album
I'm thrilled how many people love George and his music. With love from Russia.

8 LP set looks really good... you will be glad you got that!
This looks great but like you said the presentation and price point is not conducive to buy.
👍. Thanks, Joe. 😊 Rock on! - Heather
here in uk this box has been reduced from £108 to £40
This is the set I ordered and I am waiting for it.
Looks like the Apple Jam is in proper order again, the 2014 set altered the AJ order, as well as adding the bonus tracks at the end of disc one, another odd move.
Cant wait to hear about the SQ!
This seems like something I would buy. Looks like Lennon estate is smoking the Harrison estate with presentation and value.
Looking forward to a video of you receiving the Uber set.
During next week sometime.
@@MeanMrMayo excellent! That’s the video I’ve been waiting for!
I'm looking forward to finally hearing the demos in the best form. I'll be listening on Spotify. I have surrendered to the streaming services.
Joe my Uber box from Sound of Vinyl is still showing “unfulfilled” no indication my order is ready to ship or has shipped. What does your Uber box order say when you go to your account there ? Thanks Jeff
I haven't been able to access it, but I've been told they ship August 6th.
@@MeanMrMayo Joe my Uber box shipped out of Kentucky and is scheduled to be delivered this Wednesday at my home in New Jersey via Pittsburgh. I’m thinking you should be on a similar schedule
@@garettjeff Same.
Hi Joe, just opened my 8 LP ATMP set and found 4 records warped...what were yours like in the Uber set...as I may go for that as a replacement?
I checked them all, and fortunately they were all good.
Hi Joe
I’m awaiting my deluxe box set and awaiting the 3 Cd SHM from Japan.
Yours and Andrew Dixon’s presentation are informative.
I’ll admit, like others, I’m a little disappointed in the size of the deluxe box set and the inside
booklet.
Nice
Joe, is the Blu 5.1 or Just stereo?
best,
Judy and James ( a little south of you in Old Bridge).
5.1
@@MeanMrMayo Why thank you, sir. I know many of the older folks, like us, are not very interested in 5.1 but once you hear the way the surround comes at you from all sides it is just amazing. I started with Venus and Mars and band on the run and never looked back. Stunning surround mixes on those two.
Best,
Jim
The design of this box set looks good. I'm still not sure I wanna get this 50th version though. I feel like I'd play it once and go back to the original. The wall of sound is a big reason All Things is great. Taking that away always sounded like a terrible idea to me. I'm looking forward to your review.
I like it Joe but it's £108 here in the UK.. it's £50 overpriced in my opinion..I only paid £80 for the big White Album Box set and £50 for Abbey Road..these retailers certainly know how popular this album is to rip us fans off.
You can get it for £94.99 including postage from What Records
@@pauls7488 thanks for that..I'm going to wait a little bit..I think the price will drop a fair bit like the white album snd Abbey Road did.
I think the Uber book has more pages.
@@MeanMrMayo I want that big book, but not willing to shell out a grand for it.
@@catsofsherman1316 Then Go Fish, I guess..
I would like the books seperately
"i wasnt going to get this"..is rapidly becoming your catchphrase, nice one Joe...cant wait for your Uber Box video x........
(one thing i am keen to hear opinions on is what is the music like ?, after all the unboxings are done, will we get a review on the actual music content ?)
Eventually I will do a review on the music itself, once I've had a chance to hear everything.
@@MeanMrMayo I’m looking forward to your review of the music. I respect your opinion. Thanks for all you do Joe.
Someone’s over done it again.😂👍
What, you mean you with your judgmental remark? It's my business how I spend my money. 😉
@@MeanMrMayo I’m only joking with you,as you can see by the emoji I used. Sorry if I offended you, that wasn’t my intention.
@@stephenmkeer I used an emoticon too.
@@MeanMrMayo I had just woke up from doing a night shift. Let’s just say, reading your comment opened my eyes quicker then normal. 👍
Great unboxing Joe , The set looks great to me , but like you said way overpriced ... a Similar Bob Dylan set would cost about $90-$100 CDN. This one is going for $169 CDN. before tax .... ha ha ha ... Enjoy all of it ......
You're all crazy! I like the packaging and the music but as you say, it's overpriced.
Shame that the 5 CD set wasn't like the Lennon/Beatles box sets. Would've been nice to have it on my shelf.
Did u check out Bobby Whitlock’s ATMP $1,000 box set UA-cam review? Whoooo!! I’m now glad I didn’t purchase that puppy! What do U think?
Lol, guess you need another blue ray player? Weren’t you supposed to retire next year? Best of luck Joe!
Can't wait to retire!
I honestly really don’t like those kangaroo or slide pouches that are in the back covers of books. I feel like they scratch the CDs. If it’s on a page that’s at least better because you can widen the pouch before taking it out
Nothing to do with price and more to do with inflation we are experiencing. Inflation is the hidden tax.
The album is remixed not remastered!, it was remastered in 2001
Right.
Anyway, this mix is significantly different and desirable.
@@MeanMrMayo I will give it a listen thank you
@@MeanMrMayo man....I just went to listen to the title songs mix from this set and HOLY SHIT that really is a mix worth owning.
This edition is really a disappointment. The cd's are in cardboard boxes, without protection... bad hombres.
