    Mistranslation:
("My duty as a Muslim is to offer that you become Muslim") was translated into -> ("The true religion is Islam - that you and everyone in the world should convert to Islam")
("And you're free to choose, And you're free to choose") -
    this part was not translated
("but now because we have started a conversation together, I am obliged to ask you to become Muslim") was translated into ("because you came here you must convert to Islam)
It is still rude for him to ask to him to convert, but still, accurate translation is due. Thanks for the videos.

I have studied a lot of forms of mysticism, her referencing advaita vedanta was amazing. netti netti. If God is in everything, then to know thyself is to begin understanding god. we are all a drop in the ocean of Allah, to understand thyself is to begin understanding God is to begin understanding All.

“It is grace alone that we are bound by this thread of life. He held the priests ‘s hand in his own and he bade the priest look at their joined hands and he said see the likeness. This flesh is but a memento, yet it tells the true. Ultimately, every man’s path is every other’s. There are no separate journeys for there are no separate men to take them. Literally stumbled on your channel. I was exploring Kabbalah and similarities to Sufism ( I'm a lapsed Muslim, more spiritual than religious now). My family have strong Sufi roots which they appear to suppress. Stumbling on your channel has reignited my interest to find out more about Sufism about Judaism, mystic traditions and essentially my roots. It really has resonated with me on a deep level. Your channel looks very interesting brother, I'm excited to watch more. HalliluY-h that there is a resurgence of the unity of faith and I praise G-d for giving you the profoundest insight to pursue this path of rectification amd understanding, may myriad divine sparks be unleashed by your work.
If i had to guess, although I'm no Arabic speaker, I'd guess he said something like the ancient aphorism "those who know don't tell and those who tell don't know." (I believe its of daoist origin). Which reminds me to ask: have you read anything by Rene Guenon? I'd very highly recommend him and the entire perennial philosophy tradition as it seems to coincide with your endeavours. He was a remarkable exponent of advaita vedanta (non-duality) from a sufist perspective (he had also been a catholic rosicrucian who con(re)verted to belief in the unity of G-d (Islam) and became a sufi. He has powerful insights into all the mystical traditions and was a remarkable exponent of symbolism- may G-d be pleased with him and his memory serve as a blessing.
Lastly, about your war of metaphors: what sickness is there? The Fountainhead of life, The Life of life, blessed be (H)e is "righteous in all (H)is ways and Holy in all (H)is works", Al-Barr, Al-Quddus, Heaven forbid there is any sickness, for this would employ something against (H)is will, which to me is impossible. (I.e. nothing and nobody could stand in the way of the unfoldment of (H)is supreme plan of omnibenevolence.)
Hope this message finds you well, in piety and health, G-d bless. P.s. HalliluY-h to see an Israelite stepping up to the command to be a "kingdom of priests and holy nation", MarshAllah. May all our souls magnify our Lord.

    • @SeekersofUnity

Thank you so much. Yes, thank G-d, it’s really incredible to see the resurgence of the unity of faith. Thank you, I thank G-d every day for giving me this passion and guidance to pursue this path. Yes, please G-d, may we join each of our sparks together into a blaze to melt our collective heart of steel into a soft molten heart of burning love.
Haha, yes, “those who know don't tell and those who tell don't know” because there is no telling, but show they do show.
I’ve read some Guenon and his fellow Perennialist, Traditionalist thinkers, Schuon, Coomaraswamy, Lings, Evola, etc. I don’t know if this is the right time or place to talk about this, but I found the school to take the emphasis of mysticism away from unity, divinity and love and more in a direction of antagonism to modernity, spiritual superiority and conflict. I would be very happy to be shown otherwise and rehabilitate my perception of the school. But now when I read them vs reading the real giants of humble loving mystics of every religion and tradition, whether it be Lao Tzu, Nāgārjuna, Adi Shankara, Plotinus, Ibn Arabi, Rabia, Rumi, Hafiz, Ibn Gabirol, Abulafia, Luria, Baal Shem, Eckhart, Cusa, Teresa of Avila, Julian of Norwich, Catherine of Siena or Boehme, is like chalk and cheese. Please tell me if I’m wrong.
About the “war of metaphors.” I deeply agree with that you said. But there is a simultaneous reality of subjective suffering that unfortunate way to many humans experience, way too much, way too often, to begin to describe them would break my heart. May G-d, the All Merciful, have mercy on us.
In Sufism, as in many mystical traditions, the root of this suffering is attributed to a state of illusion, maya, helem, samsara, that we live in, called in Arabic nisyän, forgetfulness, us forgetting our true identity (G-d) and the true nature of Reality (Unity). This idea is found in the Quran (20:113-124) that ever since Adam, humanity has been plagued by this sickness of forgetfulness and that it is the role of the prophet, mystic, poet, philosopher and lover to lead us back to remember, dhikr, what we already know to be true, back to our true selves, out true forms, fitra, with the help of G-d.
Thank you brother dear. I pray that my reply finds you well, in prayer and wholeness. May G-d bless all those who bless (Genesis 12:3).
P.S. You have no idea how deeply touched that me, to see a brother from “another” faith, see and charge me in my own priestly and sacred responsibility and mission, is the greatest thing that anyone could see and say.
From your own words I see and feel you, holy brother, bearing witness that there is nothing other than God and that Muhammad, peace be upon him, was the messenger of that vision for you and for millions more. May that message continue to spread, both around the world, and more importantly, inside of us. And may the day come when we will serve in unison and, shoulder to shoulder, brothers and sisters, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Agnostics and Humans all as One.

@@SeekersofUnity Shalom. Glad to hear back from you and I thank you [and our Lord] for the heartfelt and insightful response.
The "those who know don't tell..." is an interesting one and is certainly countered well by the idea of "show, don't tell."
You provide a worthwhile insight into the antagonistic nature of some of the perennialists, imo. I'm no expert and am not that widely read amongst them, but it seems to me that certain of them are more antagonistic, one could even say pessimistic I think, than others. There are certain deeply troubling tendencies from amongst them. I would reject the notion in particular that Evola was in anyway in-tune with the essence of perennial wisdom. He seemed much more to be in a sense piggy backing of ancient wisdom traditions to prop up his cult of personality I suspect.
Certainly what you say is true though that they in no way compare to the original exposition of the wisdom itself as expressed by the classical authors that you mentioned. I think at least though that there may be insights that can be of use to this project. It seems to be a matter of finding those valuable insights and filtering out the worthless antagonisms. I plan to continue my reading of them and perhaps could undertake that filtering in conjunction with this project. I leave it to you to assess how- if at all- that could be of benefit.
I think the distinction between the [authentic] perennialists and the classical sages that is most pertinent would be between exposition- of wisdom-, in the case of the sages, and clarification and integration -of that wisdom- on the part of the perennialists. It seems to me our task now is one of simplification [of the insights of the perennialists] and re-exposition [of the classical wisdom in a higher, more fully integrated and complementary form], or thats what it needs to be. G-d give us the ability to undertake such a task.
Regarding what you've said about remembrance. Well said. I suppose all we can do is try to help make as many souls remember as we can. Indeed, May the All-Merciful guide us and the All-Wise grant us wisdom to help to glorify [H]im as [H]e so deserves.
Sometimes I do wonder about the sufferings of others though. It pains be so that they should dwell in darkness. Jeremiah's [pbuh] words seem as true as ever: "To whom can I give this warning? Who will listen to me? Look, their ears are closed, so they cannot hear. See, the word of the LORD has become offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it." 6:10. Or Zechariah [pbuh] [7:11] etc. The Quran as well says "...And if He willed, He could have guided you all." [16:9]. My sadness over others suffering though can not change the will of G-d. I suppose the positive spin would be to go back to the idea of "show, don't tell". But how to reconcile this bind though do you think? [That one the one hand: G-d has power over the souls to guide them as [H]e wills and we cannot change that. Yet on the other: that we all obviously want those swords beat into ploughs.] Is it just a matter of: dont give into the sadness and effortlessly try to bring down divine light to whatever degree we are capable? I suppose this is the whole notion of the Avodah or duty or what have you. [I think I've come round about to agree with you.] May G-d help us in our task indeed.
I thank G-d for [H]is holy nation and the divine wisdom [H]e has endowed us with through them- may all the children of Abraham [pbuh] be blessed. -[there is a two part book series callled 'children of Abraham: an intro to...' for both Israelites and Ishamaelites, I haven't read them but I wonder if you'd heard of them. Certainly I would think they are worth mentioning somewhere.]
I'll contact you through your website soon and relate my story and we can chat more, G-d willing.
Hah! I just remember the verse Zechariah [pbuh] 8:23.
May our Lord keep us and cause [H]is blessings to rain upon us. Wishing you peace.

    • @SeekersofUnity
      @SeekersofUnity  3 роки тому +1

It’s a pleasure to be in conversation with you with. Thank you.
I agree with you. There’s something that the original mystics most often don’t have, which the latter thinkers and perennialits do, which is an awareness of other traditions and the beautiful points of overlap and comparison. An insight we’re very interested in here at Seekers of Unity. And I agree with you, in taking the good and leaving the less good behind. And I think there might be a successful possibility of collaboration and creation of a space for you to share the goods you find there, thank you for offering, it’s definitely something we should talk about further. May G-d guide us and share with us the wisdom to follow the guidance.
And yes, these questions of the bind are large and heavy questions, sometimes the best answer to them is no answer but action, work, avoda, dharma, majhud or eamal, I’m not sure what the appropriate Arabic word would be.
I have not heard of this book series, thank you for bringing them to my attention.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
G-d’s Peace, Unity and Love upon you and all you love.
      Your brother, Zevi

Id be fascinated to see you visit a Devine Light Mission Ashram (the Indian branch). While the devotees of Sat Guru Prem Rawat Maharaji tend to be extremely Advaita Vedanta, I have come to understand that there are devotees who consider themselves Sufi, and those who consider themselves Sikhi, which blew my mind (I was raised in an Ashram community in Miami, Florida (USA), and the DLM has had a long tradition of disowning "cultural trappings", and "religiosity." About a century ago, Sat Guru Shri Hans told his devotees to cook and eat their meditation beads, since thats all the rosaries are good for.)
Prem Rawat told the devotee "initiators" to stop using the title "Mahatma", renounced the more reverent titles given to him, refused to let people kiss his feat anymore, and said don't call me Sat Guru, I am an Expert in the practice of Meditation, that is all.
I hear Prem Rawat has returned to India recently; his rival-siblings (DLM Gurus in their own rite) in the Government are going to have to share their influence with the most progressive rationalist teacher the DLM has ever had. It's going to see changes come about.
