This was entertaining, and you showed the insides, but as your description states "ever wonders how these scooters work?", you never show how the scooter works...
Detailed info: Those IR sensors are not used to measure tilt to move forward, it's a redundant switch, if one fails, the other keeps the motor running. The boards copied on each side are the gyros which keep the thing level and measure tilt to move forward/backward each motor.
The "motherboard" should be a larger board on the opposite side of the battery which has the motor speed controllers and programming on it to keep things running smoothly.

What's Inside? no prob, I've got a few videos in production now about the safety and some common fixes for these, such as the sensor triggers for the pads and how to see if your battery might be bad. I expect those to come in in a few weeks.
