80000 methods ? He was a busy guy. Maybe we should revere, what he actually thought.- maybe what he taught was important.maybe, people made up new religions. And called them - buddhism. Maybe that's insane.

Excuse me but there are 65 million Theravada Buddhists in Thailand alone, so 150 million worldwide seems too low, there even Theraveda Buddhists in America!
Well they could have found a better video narrator out of that number. This is a horrible narrator. This is Important information here to educate people but is presented in English. At least they could have used someone who speaks it well enough to be understood. It’s too hard to understand his dialect AND the material presented at the same time. 😢

The question to ask is: Why are there different sects of Buddhism? It is not a matter of teaching the simple truths to those who cannot understand the “higher teachings.” Is there really a higher teachings?? More of a division and disagreements… 🙏🙏🙏
It falls under Mahayana. Zen Buddhism is the Japanese translation of Chan Buddhism in Chinese. The founder of Chan Buddhism was the first Chan (Zen) patriarch 'Bodhidharma' who was from India. He came to China and taught the zen, or Chan, doctrines. His life and teaching left a huge impact on Chinese Buddhism and he would go on to influence Buddhism greatly reforming Chinese Buddhism into what it is today. Zen Buddhism is this same branch which follows the Zen patriarchs. Zen is merely the Japanese word for the Chinese word 'Chan' which is translated from the Sanskrit word 'Dhyana'.

Theravada is the only og Buddhism, Mahayana buddhism is Chinese buddhism & Vajrayan/Tantrayan is Tibetan Buddhism. Everywhere today the most popular buddhism is Tibetan followed by Chinese buddhism & Theravada was incorporated into Hinduism by brahmins who travelled Sri lanka & Thailand
