I love this thx u so much
Can’t believe a box is only $65
This was the year of the 80s so many great rookies and memories
One of my favorite designs of the 80's. Used to love going through packs looking for Bo and McGwire.
I have donruss mark Mcwire daimondkings and not diamond kings
And Barry Bonds as well
Got this box last week. Your videos got me interested in 80’s cards. Only had the 1988 fleer but now have 81 82 86 and 87 Donruss and 81 fleer, 88 and 89 Topps plus purchasing some single wax packs of Topps Donruss and Fleer from early 80’s. The photography may not be up to our present quality but love the classic card designs plus brings back great memories of many players that I saw but for the most part forgotten. Again thanks for the great videos 👍‼️
Legend has it, that Moyer pitched for 73 seasons.
Agree about Maddux. He was a magician on the mound.
I'm surprised you didnt pull a Maddux. Last year I get a little obsessed with buying boxes of '87 Donruss (I bought 24 of them - the price was right) and pulled a Maddux and Bonds in just about every box. I only pulled 6 McGwires though and probably only 4 or 5 each of Bo and Barry Larkin. Still a lot of fun to open. Love your vids and all the baseball knowledge you drop in them.
Where is best place to buy a box of these?
One of my favorite cards growing up. Loved the style of it. Still do.
Great video, love 87 Donruss and 87 Topps, that's when I started collecting.
Same here but Eric said he loved the Mark McGwires 87 Topps Gold Cup Card……which never existed lol……I was like wait what? when I heard that…..he corrected it lol, 88 Topps, crazy to think that was his third Topps card
My childhood here. My favorite set ever. I’ve opened hundreds of these packs in my childhood.
One of my all time favorites. Still have my Maddux and Murphy. Was hard to come by in my area back then. But found a few. Thanks for the video. Brought back a lot of memories.
Another awesome video erik!! And we all know you dont take cards away from the packs! You're a good and honest person !!
This brings back some memories, I remember when Bonds was hot and these boxes were going for hundreds.
Has anyone else ever noticed that Donruss never packed their cards somewhat tightly like Fleer and Topps did? I never could tell which way was better.
Nice times...this was my era of collecting cards as a kid!
I'm John Wathan and I approve this break.
throwback thursdays are always fun
The puzzle was one of the best things in there I have framed all of the puzzles that I have and they're hanging on the wall kind of like a Hall of Fame or maybe wall of fame
Dale Murphy Diamond King!!! I loved that card.
(Edit: that Dwight Gooden card was good too)
early 80s baseball cards are my favorites, even those lousy 81 donruss. i was teenager in the 80s, was buying cards from 80-85, 82 83 84 were the best...
Jabs, thanks for linking my channel.
I've always liked the look of the '87 set, thanks for sharing. I would love to get into a 1983 Topps break some day!
Good rip! So much info.
Love 87 Donruss!
Fun throwback Thursday. I need to add that Big Mac rated rookie.
Nice break! Glad to see the McGwire cards! What a shame Bo Jackson's career was cut short due to injury. Played 2 sports at a high level! Thanks for sharing!
Love throw back thursdays!
I loved this 1987 Donruss set. I remember buying a few packs that year. I recall one was bought after a Senior Little League baseball game from a Holiday gas station. I got a McGwire RC from that and was very excited. I priced the cards at that time from Baseball Cards magazine before I knew about Beckett. I agree that Charlie Hough always looked old in every card from the 80's.
view247flix the man looked old when he was in his 20’s. 😅
Not finding a Maddux rookie card in two boxes doesn’t really surprise me. Of the major stars in the set he seems to be the most difficult to pull in my own experience.
I remember buying these when I was in high school. Had this whole set at one time. ( House fire did them in). Good memory's watching these videos though.
Awesome video thank you
I love the look of these cards!
Love the video !
I remember my grandfather taking me to the Tulsa Baseball Card store in 1987. These were really hot right out of the gate and a box was selling for about $50 at the time. Too rich for my blood then and less expensive now of course. Wouldn’t mind cracking some today.
Great break.
23:35 Hey Erik I never heard of Ralph Bryant OF either. He only played parts of 3 seasons in MLB, but if you look him up he was a beast in Japan thereafter. He hit 49 home runs in Japan in 1989 and was season MVP there!
I remember when those Will Clark and Ruben Sierra rookies were just as hot as Bo Jackson. Amazing how some of the formerly valuable cards are now not worth much.
You don't see any Nolan Ryan's Cal ripken's Rickey Henderson cards or Fred McGriff cards no Kirby Buckets
84 donruss is a nice set or 90 leaf series two has frank thomas would be a good tbt
... I was 2 years old in 87. Even the rookies in this set seem so old now.
Any time I get a gwynn, it's a win! Bonds, Mcguire, Bo, fun break!
That Bonds is centered very nicely. Too bad on the ding on the corner.
Love 1987 donruss
One of my favorite Donruss baseball cards.
Dave Stewart had an intimidating stare but not an intimidating voice.
love 87 donruss. very underated
This set was my JAM!
Thanks Eric. Nice memory. Sorry no Maddux.
Like to see some early 2000 topps products too.
I’d almost forgotten about Mike Greenwell. That card was hot when these were released. Ridiculous amount of rbis as rookie
Love this set. Need to get some of these.
I kinda like 88 Topps, nice clean design
Nice break
I’ve opened tons of these boxes over the years and I’ve never had a box without a bonds OR a box without a Maddux. A box without either is searched, like the rest of BBCE ripoff garbage
Am I the only one here as a kid who called them “Dondruss” ... All my friends called them Dondruss
I buy all my boxes right here from a friend of mine who runs a card shop he's got cases of that stuff
Awesome stuff!
Back in the 60s they only had 17 teams
I remember trading all my 87 Topps Cincinnati Reds cards to my friend for the Donruss Greg Maddux rookie card. Awesome card!
Thanks Erik
It sucks that the break sold out in one minute! I'd checked patreon 3x today looking to get in on it. Got the text notice and by the time I got logged into patreon all of them were sold?!....
I have a 1980 BBCE box from a sealed case coming with 36 spots rather than 4 stacks, so hopefully everyone can get in on that that wants to. Thanks for the support!
@@JabsFamily I'll keep an eye out for it! Question for you....I recently got an error card from a gypsy queen pack! It's a no name (on front) Rowdy Tellez rookie card. How would I go about placing a value on it?
Bonds cheated. Aaron is still the homerun king
Everyone today is 'cheating' by hitting juiced baseballs. Just wait until they pull the current ball and stats will TANK.
That bonds is reaaly aharp...centered perfectly.
1987 is one of the first full sets i had
See a lot of Terry McGriff's...that is Fred McGriff's cousin
Nice video
Heh, Bill Schoeder's RBI 1 stats are pretty good, he could smack one occasionally, but yeah he sucks. They made George Brett bat from the right side too instead of lefty. I prefer the NL All-Stars (overall better bench). My team is Detroit though, pretty much unstoppable, and their bench has surprising power.... Nice video again, as always !
Hey, start saving all the puzzle pieces. I want to put together all of the puzzles Donruss ever made. :)
Well you have three different rookie cards because you have three different card manufacturers
Cool
Yes thank you Jabs holy Bash Brothers Canseco and Mcgwire 87 Donruss rules bud!😃😆
15:14 aw, poor ol' Billy Buckner!!
How much did these boxes cost you???
You missed the Juan Beniquez
Do u ever feel like bbce is pros at repacking when opening boxes from them.
You're video on their store kinda made me raise my eyebrow.
Don’t buy from BBCE or DAcardworld you’re spot on
Hey i can’t watch you lives but i love you vids and If i could watch them I would but i live in Cali and just keep up the great work
'82 Topps if feasible. Be fun to chase the Ripken RC
I pulled a 1 of 1 brandon crawford magenta printing plate from a bowman retail blaster!
1990 leaf TBT!
Can you do 89 upper deck boxes again but this time get sponsors?
Donruss had some decent designs in the 80s but I think 87 was their last good one for awhile
Do 1984 Donruss that was the best year for their cards
Nice break...i try to buy a spot but it sold out too quickly maybe next time.
Solid Throwback boxes too bad no Maddux RC card but it happens but i think maybe try newer stuff like look for RC cards from late 90's to like 2005 specially since you stopped collecting then might be nice to see those products but off top of my head not sure what Rooks to try and find. I would float that idea out and see cause maybe people like the old old stuff better but maybe try UD again to try and find a Griffey Jr Rookie since if i recall last time you struck out.
Those wouldve been great boxes back in '87
"This picture is uh..awful..of Ken Phelps.." Charlie Hough and Ken Phelps getting no objective beauty loving. Ron Robinson from the Brewers was in that clique when I collected...ugggh
I call 4 BONDS RC
Hi
Unfortunately they searched all those boxes I came up with cards that are not worth much a lot of those cards were thrown in the trash
Just a coincidence, but IMO all three 1987 designs (Donruss, Topps, Fleer) a slight bit better than previous year 1986 and way better than 1988.
1992 Bowman would be fun
nice cards
You skipped the Ripken and others, after talking about the Clemente card.
bulked up extremely lol
jabs for the win
I have an idea for a video. Do a father son card show. Example The griffeys and Cecil and prince feilder. I think it would be a interesting subject. Anyway it's just a thought.
How about 1981 donruss
Jabs Family. After seeing a lot of your content I decided to give my own channel a shot! Thanks for helping me get back into cards! Could I get a shoutout?? Keep up the good content!
Hey, there's a box of 79 opeechee on eBay for a grand
I know that they're cheaper, but junk-wax box TBTs are all very similar, and are getting a little old
I know there isn't much to '93 Topps series 2 but after series 1.....
60.00 is way too much for them cards I get them from my friends card card shop 4 30. Dollars
I got a case of this from The_Card_Dreamer for winning his contest.
Bulky!
