I purchased my first Helson, an Orange Tortuga nearly three years ago and love it. After finding your video on the Skindiver in the last year, I purchased an orange no date Skindiver this spring. I'm glad I did as the watch has been discontinued and I love it! I just started posting reviews on UA-cam recently for both Helsons . keep up the great videos! Best wishes!
I have the Blackbeard version of this. One of the most unique watches I own. I can say that the quality of Helson watches is top notch. With sapphire crystal and bezel along with two types of heavy luminova really make this watch glow more than any watch I've ever owned. The Blackbeard isn't readily available. You see quite a few white beards available but they just don't do it for me. I'm a fan of the Jolly Roger. It has so much to do with history in the Caribbean and some trials of distant family members long ago exiled to Barbados by the English crown, so for me it works. It surely wasn't inexpensive. Even in sale it was more than $700US. The miyota 9015 holds its own or may be st least as accurate as any ETA 2824-2, even the higher grades. It is the only watch I own with a Miyota movement but since buying this almost 2 years back, I wouldn't hesitate on any of the better Japanese movements. I look forward to the day that Seiko's Spring drive movement is off patent or available for sourcing to micro brand watches. Well done Helson.
Great review. Could I ask what is your wrist size? I'm interested in the Skindiver but worry that the lug-to-lug length might be too much for my wrist. I generally wear watches that have 47-48mm lug-to-lug. Thanks.

I really like its design, it isn't even too Blancpain-ish, for it adds unique features. It also looks stunning on a Milanaise strap.
Pro tip: watch movies at Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Zakai Makai yup, I have been using flixzone} for years myself :D

As you're a MKII fan, I'd love a comparison between this and the Stingray.
10 July 2015... The Helson Skindiver now comes with a Japanese 24 jewel movement Miyota 9015 automatic and the price is now $800.00.
meyoumovie 800 for an homage with a miyota? I pass..

rdor011 Give the fellow time to become accustomed to performing in front of a camera.
A similar style to the Semester 300s of the early 60s
Heh... you say "it does not want to shift back at all" as you see the bezel has a little back spin.
