@@ThefunwayhomeI can assure you that it’s not. But I will agree that being on TRT is not being natty. Where I was before TRT was terrible, so right now I feel kinda just “normal” again lol.
And that's exactly what I'm saying. If you're low test, TRT isn't steroids. It's returning to normal. Alot of these natties act like low t-->trt is the same thing as being on full blast all the time, whereas in reality it's just a return to normal.
@@Grumpyoldman666 Also natural T levels are pulsatile whereas TRT reaches steady state after several doses, meaning you can go out and party, get 3 hr sleep, not eat, etc and still sit at a steady T level of whatever. There's a reason why party boy influencers like Mike Thurston are likely on a TRT dose year-round (probably like athlete TRT rather than normal replacement).
Really appreciate hearing your transparency on your personal hormone stuff, mad respect. Glad to see you're enjoying the UA-cam stuff again! Always awesome to see your content
I just started training with sandbags over shoulder and jump rope in between. Wow what cardio. Love it. I dont know how people can say they dont like working out. So fun👍
I still dont understand how this channel hasnt exploded yet. Coach Joe has always been honest, forthright, transparent, knowledgeable and entertaining.
Hi coach Joey. I want to thank you for your honesty. There are many who sell smoke and unrealistic dreams that are impossible to achieve in a "normal" way. Your content is entertaining and the information useful. Over the years I have been receiving ideas that I have been able to implement in my way of training so it is time to give a little back. You are doing well and I hope to see you training until after you retire.
@@SzatStrength Thanks to you. It is difficult to find hardworking people nowadays so I have gladly subscribed to Patreon. Don't change anything and you'll be fine, Coach Joey.
Hey Joe I have been on TRT for over 3 years now, 14 years in LE just destroyed my hormones with terrible sleep and all the stress. It was amazing how much better I felt after being on it and getting my levels right. I appreciate the transparency and letting everyone know that taking care of yourself is the most important thing you can do for yourself and your family. I recommend anyone who has worked a high stress job or if you just don't feel "right" find a reputable hormone clinic and get bloodwork done.
That’s awesome man, I’m glad to hear it’s helping you! I completely agree for people to keep a check on their health. The last several years my stress was out of control too which definitely didn’t help anything.
I came off everything to have our second kid (I had been on trt for a decade after 5-7 years of competing in bodybuilding). That’s as a brutal year. We had our kid, so it was well worth it but my gosh being back on just a small dose of test is life changing.
Great video! Loved the old gym but there is just something that I can relate to seeing you grind in the garage and on the driveway! Let’s freaking go! Love the motivation seeing the deload day a bit above my max effort day.
Doing it pandemic style! Sandbag training is just brutal, that's all you, unless they shut the world down again. I hope you what you need out the TRT. I've been on it since last fall, and it's been a positive experience. My adrenal glands don't work so I lack adrenal DHEA production, and due to the demand I place on my body, my testis are unable to produce enough DHEA to support sufficient testosterone production. Talking with the brain trust at my gym, we've concluded that it takes a few months before the effects of the TRT are seen in performance and body composition in any meaningful way. But, the low-t symptoms went away almost immediately, which is pretty good feeling, if you know you know. I do stay on top of my labs, and make sure my t-levels stay in the normal range. I'd encourage others to do the same, high-T levels bring significant risks.
Appreciate your transparency and enjoy seeing how you use sandbags. I have been utilizing sandbags for a few years now and now prefer them over traditional weights. It especially helps in my line of work and real world situations. Keep up the good videos.
It's good you're talking about your experiences, man. We're about the same age, and whilst I avoided taking PEDs, many of my friends who did take them have had similar issues getting their testosterone to rebound, and I get the impression that most of them hadn't realised how commonplace this sort of thing is. One friend, 2 years removed from PEDs, has levels under 100 (although, interestingly, he says he doesn't feel too bad). Not sure what his free t is.
thanks for the comment and being open to discussion. The main thing for me I learned was just how different we are as individuals. Yes I took PED's I won't dismiss that, however I'm honest in the fact that compared to what I know others were taking I was pretty dang conservative yet my biomarkers were pretty bad. That was very eye opening to me. I'm doing a podcast with a buddy of mine talking about our compared blood work and just how different we respond to things.
sandbags are gnarly! Of course, honesty is the best policy. I usually don't dive super deep into it because 1- not everyone is mature enough to handle the conversation and be open to discussion and 2- because I work in a highschool but if they fire me for being transparent and trying to provide educational information then so be it. That's on them.
@@SzatStrength I agree. Social media can be very toxic when it comes to any physical traits (beauty, muscle mass, etc). I don’t think it would be fair for the high school to judge you. You are not encouraging PEDs. You are explaining your case based on your bodies hormones and you are under the care of a Dr.
I was 40 when I went on test, my level was 95. Didn't ever do PEDs, so I must have had an injury or from the massive stress I was under. No regrets going on it. I would recommend dropping the dosage every now and again. Excessive test can have a lot of the same symptoms as low levels. I would shoot for staying in that sweet spot of 500-750
Coach Joe. Any suggestions for strength training for the BJJ practitioner? I'm an old powerlifting guy who also trains BJJ and would like some more functional stuff that would have good carry over.
Given the traditional meaning of the word "natty", you should be quite pleased. I always find it quite funny when people describe themselves as "natty". :D Thank you for the good advice and entertainment you give to us.
I have no doubt you'll be able to pick up your 350 "hamburger" style like 13:40 in no time, but for your next attempt "hot dog" style at 13:55 try grabbing it a little closer to the center of the bag then rotate it onto your lap so it ends up sitting "hamburger" I'm a natural stone lifter and this is my approach to long sandbags. Works very well for me
