My heart goes out to Ms. Barbara raising her niece. I have 4 daughters and one thing I have always considered important to their health and safety is birth control. They can get an implant that will last 5 years. I hate to make such a low level decision. Of course we all want better for our girls, but nothing will put a young lady's life off course more quickly than an unplanned pregnancy. And that often leads to generational poverty.
I am so thankful to moms who do this. My mom put me on birth control when she realized I was hanging out with the wrong crowd as a teenager. I am so unbelievably thankful to her because it kept me out of trouble in high school. Then I completely bloomed in college and now I have a successful career. My friends from high school are all single moms. If only their moms had looked out for them, they would be doing so much better today.
I think they are both the problem meaning their energies are complete opposites. The fact that he sat on the couch and the 1st thing he said was he didn't propose. That speaks volumes...
Yes he had issues but the mark was missed. She is controlling and wants thing her way. She doesn’t listen to him and runs over him. That’s is invaliding and I’m sure that’s why he seeks comfort in being a father than dealing with her. He can’t have harmony if his wife is solely controlling the show.
The wife doesn’t make the children feel like their dad’s home is also their home. She keeps saying my home. He should’ve never married her so quickly until his children got to know her and she got to know them, and to work out with their parents and style would be when the children came to visit.
But she means it in a "not your place, it's my place" way. This is super obvious for those kids and as someone who had to de with a stepfather who obviously had no connection to me and who wanted me gone, I clearly get why those kids don't respect her. They are imitating her. @@tashiaredd3421
In the first situation, I really think what was skipped over is the fact that the wife is controlling and somewhat dismissive of her husband’s feelings, e.g., his birthday gift, but yeah, he is going to have to step up and take control of the situation as it relates to his own kids. With the second situation, I may be off the mark here, but it actually made me feel sad to hear the aunt say that she was happy that this 16 year old is pregnant, because a baby may help her to feel a void. No, it won’t because that void has a very specific shape to it, and it can’t be filled by anything other than what was supposed to be there to begin with. I remember hearing T.D. Jakes say that when a person doesn’t have their father in their lives, it’s like there will always be a hole in their heart, in the shape of their father. It’s also sad that this young lady’s mom is happy about her being pregnant. I understand that what’s done is done, and there’s no point in fussing about it now, but to be happy about a 16 y/o girl who is about to be propelled into a situation that is going to completely alter the course of her life, doesn’t make sense to me. They need to educate her to make sure that this doesn’t happen again any time soon. She has career aspirations, so she is already going to have to break through some statistical barriers. Also, the “older” father of this baby needs to be looked at too, because according to her, he always knew her true age, which makes him a predator.
I wish Karamo would have addressed the wifes controlling aspects because i think thats a key role in their issues. Yes the husband was wrong but so was she
Imagine being a Marine and your children have no discipline, your household has no structure, and your woman runs your relationship. Sounds about right….
@@georgiapeach31027as a military veteran myself, I will say it has a lot to do with it. I disagree with the aunt. The "comfort" she's missing from her mom will not come through her child. That's not a reason to have a child, although I'm sure she didn't plan on getting pregnant. Yes, her child will love her, but being a young mom will not be easy. I think this young lady will be fine though. There's something about her and it seems like she's tough and will pull through.
