  • Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley signed a state of emergency declaration amid historic flooding linked to Post-Tropical Cyclone Debby, which moved through Maryland last week. Floodwaters at City Dock surged to 4.4 feet above normal levels on Friday, marking it as the eighth-highest flood event on record for Annapolis, according to a city statement released Wednesday. Initial damage assessments by the Annapolis Department of Planning and Zoning indicate that 19 businesses and nonprofit organizations sustained an estimated $162,000 in lost revenue and equipment damage due to the storm.
