archmage has always felt so forgotten this is a great improvement. but id love to see it go ever further because honestly no one is playing archmage even after the buff
My first ever spellcaster was an Archmage wizard and fell in love with it then. Very glad it's getting tons of love. Will eventually try it again very soon!
They just need to fix bolt and blast and I think Archmage will be really nice. Just make the DC and damage scale better OR remove them for something like SLA fireball or something.
@BloodyN1nja I like the idea of the harper scout prestige class from neverwinter nights. Focus on deception, stealth, and being opportunistic. Like a half sneak/half bluff/half bard sort of tree. Int to hit and damage feels good still since harpers are big planners.
Im thinking while not on hardcore, 41 palemaster 31 archmage might be pretty juicy. Less tankiness because not going into EK, but extra caster levels plus cheap metas etc will be juicy for offensive wizzie.
Making metamagic cost reduction cheaper for archmage is really nice, at endgame i've already got a couple of characters to the point where maximise is free (enhancements, destiny & meridian fragment) so being able to have closer to that while levelling will be a massive power boost to non-SLA spells. I've been considering playing EK warforged again for a while & with these changes plus macrotechnic, I think it's time. Once the initial BG3 frenzy has worn off.
Archmage of enchantment/evocation was my favorite build ever... around Update 20. Being able to cast Chain Missiles and Resistible Dance forever even when I was down to Echoes of Power never stopped being awesome. Maybe this change will give me a reason to reincarnate my main back into Wizard instead of Sorc?
I'd love to return for archmage but I am not going to grind all the gear for int ... after being a warlock. The big issue with DDO is that its so prohibitive to playing something new at the same tear which admittedly is a lot of games but, it also means solo grinding a lot of stuff... which is no fun
Hey Strimtom, sorry not related to this video but, I'm looking to start doing some raids here soon and was curious if you know of any good builds to suggest to a raid-noob such as myself?
This is a general list I use. I change it up all the time at random, but this is a good general use list docs.google.com/document/d/1xMJIlNntb8IRmTkuTDEPwmgdxAKnIELL_Nbs25Ugj6s/edit?usp=drivesdk
Archmage desperately needed this... It's felt so bad for so long.

HEH, I wonder if anyone can get the ancient Magic Missile Wizard build to work someday... Most likely not.

They should have just followed the PnP Archmage, as it lvls it can cast low lvl spell for zero SP.
Also CC dc's should be boosted imo.
To be fair, I still believe Harper NEEDS a rework
Oh absolutely. Harper definitely needs a total redesign. It has no identity, so it really doesn't do anything other than int to hit and damage
@@Strimtom The question then becomes, what could its identity be? Keep int to hit and damage, of course, but beyond that

does warlock blasts count as spells for arcane supremacy? i was thinking 12 archmage/8 acolyte
This is so nice, but they could have taken it further to make it viable.
Have you whipped up a written list of dungeons to run for quick leveling?

@@Strimtom thank you!
Plz don’t compare DDO to lol.(joking) Lol makes me depressed and I hate the community. DDO makes me happy and I love the community
First....meteor swarm!
Monk Perfect Self should be changed to PRR 10 or DR 5% and ,+1 passive Ki. DR10/Epic is a joke capstone compared to other pure 20 classes.
