  • This week, we’re bringing you the fifteenth video from a series that we call Home Coffee Brewing with April.
We believe that innovation in coffee brewing starts at home, and that some of the most special and meaningful interactions with coffee can take place within your own kitchen.
As we are travelling frequently travelling visiting our international partners, we decided to introduce this format as a way to interact with you on a different level whilst maintaining the frequency of our videos.
We’re still on our travels, this time meeting with Ahnstar in Seoul to brew a washed Ethiopian coffee as both hot and iced filter. Ahnstar may be a familiar face already, as he has a very established UA-cam channel (@ahnstar_), featuring many great videos relating to specialty coffee and coffee culture in South Korea.
Thank you to @ahnstar_ for hosting us in your apartment and sharing your brewing methods with us and our channel.
If you're especially curious about the content that we produce, make sure to check out our Patreon as we have several different ways that you can join our community: / patrikrolf

We welcome your thoughts and feelings on the topics raised in this week's video, as well as other ideas you would like to see us discuss in the future. We really appreciate your feedback and support.

In this week's video, we are showcasing both a Hot and Cold brew approach using the April Brewer. In Korea, it's common to drink ice coffee all year around, so Ahnstar decided he wanted to share both. Is anyone else brewing ice coffee brews out there?

In Korea, there is a meme called iced Americano even if you freeze to death.

Absolutely, and his unspecialty - coffee education - project is great and much helpful for the development of the local coffee market.

Thank you for watching. We hope to be able to do videos in Japan in the future. We have three more videos in Korea before we go over to Taipei. Is there any other country than Japan you would like to see videos from?

Awesome! What did you think of the Lagom 01 grinder?

    • @coffeewithapril

It's been a great grinder so far. We used it to brew 200+ pour overs per day over three days in Taipei for not so long ago. Great results. Have you used any of the Option O grinders?

I really liked the simple brewing method for the iced coffee..... 1 to 10 ratio, slow pour, 2 ice cubes..... nice, no fuss!

Thank you for watching Jonas. It came out really tasty and well balanced. Iced coffee displays a different expression of the coffee and that's interesting.
Do you usually brew ICED coffee? Any preference between cold brew and an iced brew?

@@coffeewithapril Hi! Thanks for your response. I love the way people dial in espressos, according to different coffees and roast levels.
I would also love to see how other people from around the world use your April brewer in different coffee cultures. I have my techniques which I believe are different from what people are used to, and not to mention your 2*100g pours which I believe are very specific to your equipment and coffees that, for instance, are not that common here in Argentina, and therefore I would like to see different approaches to further improve my own.
Aside from these series, I really enjoy educative roasting videos and science forward ones. Thanks again, and I am eager to try your coffees (which I haven't had the pleasure to try yet) in your April brewer which is awesome!
      Love,
      Francisco
