We’re eating peanut butter that is almost a year past the BB date and it’s perfectly fine. We use the Costco brand that is natural and organic. We love it too!😊

This is my first time here and I like your message,
especially with your endorsement of my soup and stew plan. About half of our pantry is chunky soups and stews. As you mentioned, these
can be stretched into feeding multiple people at little cost and without changing their flavor much. The ole beans and rice don't appeal to me much alone, but when added to an existing pot meal, they can go a long way.
A trick of mine since I'm not a great fan of stand-alone rice is to save the juices from canned fruit and use that to cook your rice, which really sweetens things up.

@@sandysteinbrook I left off the recommendation for digestive meds, but having something for heartburn/acid reflex/indigestion and gas/bloat diarrhea/constipation is also important especially if people get stomach sick from stress. And if the food is a dietary change it may affect them. The other suggestion store vitamin c/multivitamin/ vitamin d

There's a lot of sodium in it, but I like keeping a couple of cases of Ramen Noodles. Cheap, easy to fix, and it fills you up. Definitely keep 5-10 gallons of water on hand as well.

The sodium is all in the flavor packet. If it bothers you, 1:14 then dont use the whole thing and save the rest for seasoning something else! You could also try other seasonings that aren't salt based.

Already prepared!! Food, ways to cook food(fire pit with grates), firewood, wood stove in house to keep warm and land(not a lot but enough) to live off of. My husband could live in a shack with no electricity and 100% survive, live off the land and love every minute of it!!!!Me, well, not so much lol, wouldn’t look forward to it but I would survive. I’m not a big game eater but I would eat it if I had to, eat a little now. No matter if we don’t need all of this mentioned, we would have it anyway because it makes my husband happy.

It's a good idea to experiment a little bit to see if your family will eat "survival food" in an emergency. For instance, Campbell's Chunky Soup poured over rice with a canned vegetable makes a nice meal. One can of soup and one can of vegetables with a cup of rice will feed a family of four.
Another possibility is to cut SPAM into little cubes and fry it with seasoning and/or onion and finish with diced potatoes from a can. (Used to do this for breakfast on car camping trips).
A third possibility is canned chicken or turkey, canned whole potatoes, a can of vegetables, and a package of gravy. Three cans and a pouch of gravy is a meal for four.
Important thing is to come up with combinations that work so that you have a few options and are not left with just a can of beans. Goes without saying that every one should have at least one manual can opener stored in the pantry.
Thanks for bringing up this subject.

Old oil lamps with extra wicks and oil, campstove coffee perk with ground coffee, box dry milk, flashlights/batteries, charcoal grill with extra charcoal/lighters, campstove extra propane bottles, top off gas in car for charging phones, air conditioner reprieve, emergency, pet food supply, wet ones for hygiene, bug spray, solar power👍, patriot generator(portable). Books! How to do yourself. Just bought Preppers Medical Manual. Tractor Supply usually got great books and information stand. Don’t forget gloves, boots, extra socks, underwear. When nothing is open and your car running on fumes(lines to get gas and you are only allowed 20 dollars worth). It gets real🙏

Our state preparedness department tells us to have at least 2 Weeks of food water n meds.
In case of natural or man-made disaster , it may take government a couple of weeks to get utilities up an running.
At the very least it gives you time to figure out what you'll need to do, like go looking for more food n water or possibly bug out to another location that's got more resources.

Famine and feast. Trouble is many people have got this out of balance, all feast and no famine. Tinned oily fish is good but not in sunflower oil but preferably in freshwater or at a push brine, tinned tomatoes, fermented foods like sauerkraut. I tend not to store any foods now that aren't low carb. Most are wheat/gluten based and highly inflammatory.I still have a bag of pasta but it must be years old and I should really throw it out. Pickled onions, beetroot. Since I started low carb I tend to eat fresh whole foods and cook from scratch. if the power goes off I have several very good camping stoves that I can use which cook beautiful meals. I have a stock of gas canisters. But this is a worthwhile video. Many thanks.
