- Yo Will is back! Today he shows us how he welds a 2" heavy wall pipe. MIG root pass dual shield flux core fill and cap. He really makes a point that having a proper body position helps you weld faster without having to stop and readjust.

Watched this video the night before my first bend test after graduating TWS. Knocked it out the park! This was a very helpful video, great content.
Been welding a couple years and never taken this test. Had to today for a job and because this video I passed. I really appreciate y’all !!
I’m a shop welder I work at Epic piping in Louisiana great info on the test especially when you said when you get uncomfortable STOP!! Can’t make a good weld when your uncomfortable, AWESOME KEEP BURNING BOYS!!
I’m trying to be a stainless welder at epic right now in Texas lol
Damn I live in zachary I'm thinking about going to epic
I’m currently at greenberry in Sulphur louisiana. This summer was hot as fuuuuuuck bruh
@@Aries-us9cy they hiring?
Wish there were more videos. I learn so much from these videos.
All you guys that do these videos are awesome, great skills, and knowledge. Keep it up, bro
I miss welding, worked at Trinity Rail for about a year had a great time minus the 7 days a week 12hrs a day night shift.. but don’t really regret it
My buddy Steven worked there for a while, he's an instructor at the welding school in Acworth now.
Which location? I used to work at the one in Longview tx
Thank you it will help. I got the turning table gonna have test exactly some tubes. Thank you
Great video! I love/miss running mig. Especially flux. Danm that hum sounds sexy.
No offense dope vid but the caps were disgusting
U ain't making videos are ya
Flux on a 2” in 6g it’s hard to get a nice cap because of how quick that angle needs to change
Nice cap I don't think people realize how hard it can be to produce a nice looking cap like that
No matter what I do, at the top I always get a clumpy root. It’s driving me crazy.
Root ??
Thanks for sharing with us, Fred.
Nice editing..!
Somebody took some time into it..!
Nice I've been waiting for this! Thanks fellas 💪🏼
Man where was this video back in 2017, i remember i got called up to a fab shop for tig pipe test but the supervisor switched it up to mig root and flux. It was a fat guy named Maynard, always always ALWAYS on his golf cart, never got off that poor cart, even though it was an electrical cart, i could see signs of overheating 😁
You ever watched F is for Family? It's a fantastic show on netflix, Maynard is reminding me of "Bob Pogo" from the series
Hopefully you guys can make a 6g tig all the way on pipe soon
Where are the critical arc shots?
I slam mine for a smaller cap....I put a big gap once had to 5 bead it....was like a extra 2 hour because how hot it got.
I remember i use to weld with 2 hands but not in weld with 1 hand easy work !
Nice dude that's was great. That shield is sick though do they sell those online?
That's one of the best things my welding instructor taught me stop when you feel uncomfortable helped me out a lot cause I was like I can finish I can finish bam stuck the tungsten fuck long arc shit fish eyed it lol just be comfy
great video guys thanks for the info 😁👍🇺🇲🙏
That was a fun video guys thanks!!!!👍
Up here I can’t change the voltage my self they put the settings and I have to weld on that , from botten to top
I have a question on weld at high amp and wire speed I’m just started at a product company and they want us to weld at 30 amp and 705 wire speed I’m have a hard time getting my welds to look like the do at regular setting
Here at Phil we weld a galvanized sheet of 1 mm
Nice work yall!
but yet they dont show the root.....
I bet your those types that walk around the shop looking at roots. Just weld and do your job, nobody likes a QC wannabe looking at their welds, gurantee you will lose some teeth boy
@@Ruben901 guess it's a good thing I train to knock out teeth and shot first lol. Not all talk here buddy boy.
No point in showing these techniques or abilities if they don't show you if they actually work.
😮😮,muy bien amigo gracias,bien explicado...🙏🙏🤘💀
hello sir, please make a way of welding 6g smaw using 7016 root wire, thank you greetings from indonesia
Sorry guys. Always did this test uphill.
Upwards? You a bad motha 🐝🐝
Good job
I've always been wondering is using a passive lens pretty hard to use I've always used auto darkening and I feel like passive might make it harder to figure out where your starting. Also I've been doin some welding outdoors and find it hard getting glare from the sun behind me at times which makes it hard to see what do y'all recommend for that. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Buy a sugar scoop and adapt a auto darkening lense 2×4 inches and bam auto darkening sugar scoop way less reflection
Really Nice!!!
Показан результат того, как не должен выглядеть сварочный шов. Слишком большая ширина шва относительно толщины металла.
PERTIKAL BRO NICE
THE CAP NEEDS MORE WORK AND YOU DID'NT SHO YOUR ROOT PASS. 1ST AMEND.
Turn down the wire to about 250 it'll wet out better and less spatter.
Or the volts up to at least 24 for that wire speed
@@jarrengabaldonwait so 24 V and 250 IPM?
Show arc shots. Damn.
Ferramenta
En descendente suelda cualquiera
Try next time to point the camera on the welds while you welding most of the people want to watch not to listen
🤟🏻
Que feA soldadurA ..esperamos algo mejor
Hello
Don t spend Wire. Loool
Not good cap final Pas
Too convex. Is it over 1/8"? I don't think I would use 300 wire speed for capping.
Isn’t the maximum reinforcement 0625 ?
Bad camera angles
Horrible setting on that hot pass
If your taking a test than it's safe
I’d love a video on terms for us rookies: fisheye, landing, root, keyhole, etc. One video going over all of this would be helpful, as well as all the settings on the machine, took me a while to find 2T vs 4T for example.
That editing thoooo
Sorry to say that but this video lacks zooming on the process. The author does not seem to be proud of his job to show it closer and discuss all the flaws and imperfections if they are.
What was the maximum reinforcement on that pipe test you did in this video?
can you guys include parameters in the corner with text or show the set up of welder more in your video's? I know it's kinda preference around a range but I still like to know.
I spoke too soon.
Hi. I am from Indonesia. Your welding technique is very good, I would like to learn more with you. Please make me a video on how to weld the SMAW + FCAW combination, and please include the translation in Indonesian. Thank you
Hey Weldtube, been following your videos for about 3 years now. I went to a shop welding program last year in Oklahoma. I'm back in my native New Jersey now, but I'm having a very difficult time finding work as a entry level welder or welders helper in the tri-state area. Any tips on how to break into the industry? O r maybe you know some people in the Northeast that are in the welding industry? Keep up the awesome work!
@@weldtube thanks! I'll keep on keeping on.
Look for an entry welder position. Thats what i did, even if it pays 14/hr, its good to gain experience in your resume, or welder helper position
The North East and Midwest are union states man if you want a job up there that's the way to go. Or come back to OK and work in an oilfield shop.
This guy is good. I’ve said that before, but it’s worth repeating.
Deberían de hacerlo en español 😅
Man y'all staying fresh with the editing!!. Great job weldtube fam✔✔💯💯
Nice video. But why to mutch wire feed for me. You shuld not have that sparkeling sound when u USE dual shield. But thats just my oppinion. Have benn welding dual shield for 13 years tho. I am from NORWAY so i gess there is a lot of wrong spelling
Man I really appreciate these types of videos I thank you so much!!! I’m currently in trade school learning how to weld at Lincoln tech and any time I have free time between work and school I watch weldtube and welding tips and tricks with jodi and you guys helped me so much!! I honestly feel like If I had the resources I could learn how to weld from the videos both of your channels produce without school.
Thank you for this. I was having problems with capping
Can you do a 3/8 steel but with a 7/16 gap square groove no grinding?
Please sir make a video in language of hindi
that mirrored image on the cap was trippy af
Excellent video. Exactly what I needed
That's awesome bro..keep up the good work
Aver para ver la raíz
Well done bro.
It’s crazy that I can lay better(prettier beads) but can’t get a job in Houston bc illegals broke the market system
