If you conquer the Goal Killer, sounds to me like that makes you The Goat. Glad you were able to find a day to ride that wasn't 150 degrees out. Tell them snakes to go find some shade off the trail next time lol. Loved this video, and as always, keep em' comin!
Are you sure youre over 60? Lol sir, your fitness level is pretty impressive. I just turned 40 last week and just started to mtb. Did both trails at fossil creek this morning and almost died! Definitely subbing. Enjoyed the video very much.
@@HunterLo25 Well you just made my day! Yes, over 60 and tryin to keep myself as fit as possible. Glad you’re getting into mountain biking. It’s a great combo of physical fitness and challenge.
@HunterLo25 Keep at it, it gets easier. Fossil is probably one of the easiest. Starting at 40 as well and I'm about 2 months in; I can finally finish Frisco and Corinth in 45min; Arbor hills is a great mix, at only 2 miles. Gearing up for Northshore.
Great job on the Goat Killer! I wasn't able to get that, but only rode that trail twice when I lived in DFW. Overall, I wasn't much of a fan of Knob Hills. Northshore, Boulder, Oak Cliff, and IDB were my tops (if you can count IDB as being a DFW trail).
Nice riding! Somehow in lots of years riding DORBA trails I have never made it to this one. Hopefully it opens up soon! Your brake lever placement seems uncomfortable. Do you ever experience loss of circulation to your hands?
Thanks. It’s a great trail, but in the river bottom so generally one of the last to reopen when Grapevine Lake floods. Not sure about my brake levers, probably a bad habit that became normal - but no I don’t have any circulation issues.
Great video! That's one of my favorite trails in DFW!
Thx for sharing! Great job showing us around this trail.
I rode the full trail for the first time back in March 2024. Been waiting to get back out there. Underrated? Currently underwater!

Yeah I often feel like the old goat!
Appreciate the effort you put into your videos. I need to try that trail.
You should!
60 Strong - goat killer is rough just walking up!!!!
good job dude, i am always 50/50 on Goat Killer, sometimes i get it sometimes i don't. Nice work.
Thanks. That’s about my percentage too. Usually gassed when I get there.
Great job on the Gauntlet and the Goatkiller!!!!
Thanks. Definitely gotta bring the A game for those 2 climbs.
Nice work!

Appreciate that. I’ve watched several of your videos as well.
One day I'll clear the Goat Killer😅 At least now I know it's possible, lol! Good job man!
Thanks. You can do it!

My least favorite DFW trail
Why is that?
Too much rock and not enough reward for the climbs. I’d take Northshore or Erwin over Knob any day.
@@OTBregularly more rock than 5-7 northshore?
5-7 are enjoyable for me, Knob isn’t.
