look I know shetlands are strong enough to carry bigger riders but a) it looks bloody awful and b) it doesn't do them any good because the rider is sitting all wrong
a lot of these riders are posting off their stirrups, and not using their leg...it's very distracting seeing their legs and feet go all over the place...
Kristen Ressler i think their startupklimaat are too long
Is it just me, or are 80% of these riders WAY too big for these poor ponies?
No, Shetlands are very strong ponies, although the riders don't look as good as they would if they were smaller.
These kids would not be allowed to ride these ponies in GB. If their legs, out of the stirrups can be seen below the animals body they should not be riding them. Poor ponies..the parents should be ashamed.

At least someone agrees with me
yeah...they will be fine, but it does look pretty ridiculous...
What a nonsense. On the Shetland Islands where they come from, grown ups ride them. They're so strong. These kids are very light.
Yes, a lot of the riders are too tall, and one or two looked a bit too heavy. Most were quite petite young women though, and definitely not too heavy, just an awkward height. However, these horses will go on to be stellar little kids ponies because now they're broke, and have the proper training to be safe for kids. Remember, it's not little children breaking ponies to ride, they dont posses the skills or technique! These horses arent any worse for wear, and are now beautifully trained, safe first mounts
This is kinda cruel - 1- i know shetlands can carry bigger weights but jeez -2- the are posting using there stirrups ( im 12 and ik better)
Evie & disney clearly you don’t know anything about horses 😂
Becky Lee you clearly don’t either ❤️
Beautiful!🎄✈
this has to be a joke omg 0:44
She's on the poor ponies lumbar vertebrae and kidneys. People like that should be disqualified.
Its looks absolutely terrible and is painful for the poor pony, @bethanyted definitely agreed that she deserves to be disqualified.
@sandra donavon I need your help!!!
I have recently purchased a Dartmoor, but isn't a correct "build" I want to quifly him for s.w.p.a next year. what classes would suit him??? please help me
At 3:19 she seems like the only girl the right size for the shetland. 159 and 202 and then like 2 others seem like the only ones that are the right size all the others look too tall or too big for the ponys in my opinion I dont know about anyone else
LOL imagine being out riding your horse and meeting 1 or 2, it looks so damn silly
idk it looks like the pony is actually big but the riders are giant im so confused lol
A larger Shetland can carry about 100 lbs
was anyone from WA?
fairlight acres are the same breeders as my pony!
The riders are way to big for these tinny shetlands
i think Shetlands are quite strong though
They may not be too heavy, but they are too tall. For the ponies, it's really hard to keep their balance.
Why are basically all of these riders too big for the ponies? I get it, they’re strong. But seriously?? People just want money and ribbons and they’ll do anything for it. If you were a true rider then you’d be competing (ON THE RIGHT SIZE HORSE) just for the sake of competing. 💜
I agree. They may not be too heavy, but they are too tall. For the ponies, it's really hard to keep their balance.
20% of the horse's weight NO MATTER THE BREED
This looks all sorts of wrong. Even though the pony can carry it.
I know these are mostly little kids, except for the ones that are way too tall for the poor creature they are riding, but is no one teaching them to ride?
Your rider must have had a growth spurt... lol Time to find someone younger again.
Omg 😮
This is so cute but a little sad the riders are way to big for the tine miniature pony’s
I ride a shetland pony for showing all these girls are fine but a lot of these ponies need to put more weight on as the shetland pony is a stocky breed
Yeah the Ponie are like ow ow ow ow ow
Crazy horse Life no they aren't! Let's face it people, they are SHETLANDS they'll buck you off if your too big😂😂😂
So far I’m only watching the first horse and that rider is way to tall for that horse
These kids would ride better on a larger pony - they have obviously outgrown their Shetlands. These kids are cute but they are using their feet to post and not their knees and thighs. Their posting looks forced and their feet shouldn't be moving around.
129 is way to big for that pony
They are way too big for those poor pony's
Most of these riders are to big for the ponies and mostly all these riders eq is terrible. The only rider I can see that is probably an appropriate weight to be riding one of these ponies is 159.
A BIG DISLIKE and a "Don't recommend this channel" for not caring about the animals' welfare... They'll get arthritis in their legs and spine in the prime of their lives, then get put down because they'll be unable to walk due to the pain.. Tsk Tsk...
The organizers of these shows should have height and weight limits because of stupid people!! These riders on small ponies is like putting a 400 pound rider on a small Arabian, then trotting around so all that weight bounces up, and SLAMS down, on the animal's spine, but you WOULDN'T do THAT, right?? What's the difference here?
Get those horses in a bloody outline!
and no saddle pad you awful human beings
Ellie Potadosnake it’s part of the class my dear it is for the elite only a saddle pad does not look smart of traditional and cuase no pain saddles are fitted by the best fitters after all they have the money
I think these riders are way to big
Way too big for those ponies 😡
Riding.Irish.Horses 1 actually Shetland ponies can carry 9 stones so it may look a bit weird but they are not to big
Faolan the Sheltie
I know
U don't know how heavy she is, she might look very skinny and light but we just don't know, some of those ponies are okay but some of them aren't, and u don't know wether it's a Shetland or a miniature pony because they're bloody similar
Raleigh
Riding.Irish.Horses 1 um,, it says in the title that these are shetland ponies.
