I want to visit Sofia again. I visited the city in the 1980's and it was depressing to visit at the time. Nothing to buy in the shops, and nobody smiled. Such a beautiful city now.

Did you know that the Banya Bashi Mosque, the Sofia Synagoge and the Church St. Nedelya are the "triangle of faith" in Sofia? They are peacefully located at the heart of the city, just few hundred meters away from each other.
@@aboutravel. The Romanian Church is also very close to the Catholic one. Sadly, it is too small be seen. Did you know that the Vidin Sinagogue has now been refurbished as well and the second largest after the one in Sofia? 😉

But let me speak my piece - 1.Sofia has one if the highest number of cars per capita in the EU with heavy traffic going through the city center and lack of parking spots. 2.Bad roads and inefficient public transport with a decrasering number of passengers each year, long wait time and no integrated ticket system, 3. Lack of green spaces, bike lines, sidewalks and very few solely pedestrian spaces. 4. Bad and inefficient connection to the mountain, 5. Bad air, lack of kindergarten, overbuilt areas without proper infrastructure. 6.Very poor quality of repairation work - e.g. street Graf Ignatiev, Vitosha bullevard etc. Don't know about you, but I've visited more than 25 counties and lived abroad for a number of years. If you compare Sofia to any other EU(and not only) capital and you will realize how little was done in the last 10 years.

I do not agree. It has many buildings that are world heritage sites. It is like walking through a history book. Clean air, clean streets and high quality bars and restaurants at good prices. Impressive nature and also with mountains to ski, it is a small European treasure.
